Avatar n tn I have gained weight and lost so much muscle. I am so motivated to lose weight but nothing works. I have turned to a vegan lifestyle, walk 2.5 miles a day, religiously count my calories, and drink at least 48 oz of water a day if not more. I lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!!! Can anyone relate to what I am going through and give me some helpful advice...please???
Avatar f tn I have been taking Cymbalta for about a week now for fibromyalgia and they say it takes a month to start feeling the effects but they're wrong I started feeling at the second day I took it it has done wonders for me but the only side effect that I do have is no appetite. I have also noticed that I am losing some weight I haven't weighed myself but I can feel it when I put my clothes on. Has anybody lost a significant amount of weight while taking this medication?

Avatar f tn It sounds more like you have an illness other than FMS. Have you have an entire GI series for the weight loss and stomach pain? If not you really should. The only time that I lost weight that fast without trying is when my Thyroid went from being Hypothyroid to Hyperthyroid. Has your sleep changed to insomnia? Do you feel like you can stop moving around? Matbe you should Google your symptoms that go with stomach pain and weight loss without trying.
613290 tn?1220851676 I have weight loss, loss of smell and taste, COPD, Hep.C, Peripheral Neuropathy, Hypothyroid, Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, MVP, HPV, Acid Reflux, Hyatel Hernia and other illnesses, too many to post. I just got a recent blood test result back and my T4 is elevated. Does anyone know if that could be causing any of the problems I'm having.
Avatar f tn I was tested for H pylori in 2011 and again in 2012 and was told I didn't have it...interestingly though, when I was put on erythromycin for a month to help motility, I got much better and remained so for almost two years...I have had fibromyalgia pain since in college...and was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse when I was about 35...it is supposedly a benign condition in me but I suffered from what is called mitral valve prolapse syndrome for many years....
Avatar f tn I almost went to the emergency room due to my weight loss. My normal weight is 98 lbs and I was down to 88 lbs. I am getting an allergic reaction to almost all of the food I eat!
Avatar f tn Let us wait for the repeat MRI scan. Anxiety and constant worrying may aggravate the headaches, disrupt sleep and cause weight loss. The MRI results will determine the next step of management.

563571 tn?1232491190 Implications for CFS patients. If I remember fight, Dr. Nicolson will be presenting the results of this recent study at the International CFS Conference in Reno, NV. (March): http://www.immed.org/whatsnew/whats%20new%2011.23.08updates/NicolsonIACFSabstract3.
Avatar n tn The reason others gain weight are because of not being able to get proper exercise and some of the medications also cause the gain. Since you are not eating because of the pain, then it would be natural for you to lose weight. However, any 'rapid' weight loss should be investigated by a physician to try and find out what is causing it and to make sure there is nothing else taking place.
Avatar f tn i was wondering if there were blood test for female weight loss panel, i have had graves and hypothyroid, due to my severe weight loss is it possible to have hyper and hypothyroid and is this a cause of my weith loss i am 5 ft 8 in and weigh 115 pounds i used to weigh 140 pound and felt great i love food and due to hypoglecima i eat 5 times a day, and for some reason i started to sweat real bad at night and my ear rings constantly, i also have low blood pressure and i have been getting heart pa
Avatar f tn The headaches and increased pain could be fibro related, however, a lot of your other symptoms don't really sound like it to me. Especially with the change in appetite and loss of weight, I'd definitely suggest getting checked out by your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Because I was very unsatisfied with the Dr. I saw 2 weeks ago who did 2 hypo tests (TSH and T4), said I was withing "normal range" and get me some Metformin to help with weight loss (haven't lost anything yet btw), I went to see another Dr. a friend referred me to on Tuesday. He was so much more detailed with me! I brought a list of symptoms with me just to ensure I wouldn't forget anything!
Avatar m tn who said i had fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety...he said the depression and anxiety come from the fibromyalgia.....and then i did research and found this doctor here who has fibromyalgia and then i had to call my family doctor 5 days straight 4-5 times a day just to get him to send over a referel.... which is just making a phone call! it took them 5 days to call and talk to them?!?!?! i feel like i've fought everyone and i am praying to god this doctor will really, reallly help me...
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for the past 20 years and 3 surgical fusions in my neck as well as 2 in my lumbar spine........and the migraines since I was a teenager.......sometimes you just don't know what to deal with first, right? My neurologist started me on Topomax for the migraines and it has made an amazing difference........it prevents the migraines from happening about 90% of the time and it also stops neuropathy or nerve pain in my legs.........
535882 tn?1396576685 I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and fibromyalgia, and I lost 25 pounds in 2009 and it did not change my levels, though my endoc tested me earlier than usual after the weight loss in case it did. My numbers remained fairly steady for a while and then my dose got bumped up a little this winter. My weight also crept up about five pounds probably because I was slightly hypothyroid; this winter I felt unusually hungry.
Avatar f tn However, I have a large thyroid nodule which was aspirated three years ago and that was also normal, at that time I had extreme fatigue, cold extremeties, and weight gain. My thyroid levels were all checked and I was told normal.
Avatar n tn As we age our metabolism decreases and it become more difficult to lose weight. Weight loss can be difficult at any age. Your PCP may be able to refer you to a dietitian to begin a weight loss program. Many of us struggle to maintain a healthy weight. You may need an MRI of you spine to determine is you have some structural problems in the area of your back that is painful. You may be experiencing some muscle weakness and/or spasms. If you have lower back pain do you have a kidney infection?
Avatar f tn I'm getting to be sort of concerned by this point. I've had a low grade fever more or less continuously for four weeks today (with random periods of a couple of hours without one) that seems mildly exacerbated by physical activity, but has no alleviating factors. It seems to resist ibuprophen - it might go down for an hour, but then it pops right back up, and even that's iffy. With it comes intermittent periods of moderate to severe fatigue.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia since a near fatal car accident 10 years ago. I am currently on Celexa and Methadone, and I have gained about 35 lbs. and I can't figure out how to stop it or why it is happening. My pain management doctor is a neurologist, and he just says it is a combination of the meds, menopause, not being as active, but he is not a diet doctor and his main concern is my pain. Is there another combination of meds that doesn't do this?
Avatar n tn Hello all - I am 29/F - Stay at home Mom to a 3 year old (not b/c I psychically can't work but b/c we chose this for her) - for the past month I have been experiencing this discomforting "chest wall" pain - when I say chest wall that is what I am assuming that is what it is - basically there's this "sore spot" on the left part of my chest just above my breast (right under my collar bone) - - when press on it, it's tender - - I had this last month around the time I
Avatar m tn Hello, I've had a fairly positive experience with all anti-seizure medications I've tried reducing pain in regards to my Fibromyalgia. I think the reason comes with my belief that there is a malfunction in the central nervous system for some reason. At this time we don't know what the cause is- many new scientists believe it may be neuro-immune. Anyhow, I've responded very well to medications like Neurontin, Lyrica and Topamax.
Avatar f tn I guess I thought things were bad enough before the test, now they are worse and I have even lost weight and cannot spare the weight loss because I have always been too skinny. I could never in my life seem to gain weight no matter how much I ate and was always accused of being anorexic. I wonder if I was born with this thyroid issue, Is this possible? Also I read that antidepressants such as Zoloft can help slow the thyroid down, is this a fact?
