fibromyalgia and savella

I have Fibromyalgia and horrible pelvic pain. My doctor just startedd me on Savella. Does anyone have any experiences with this new med they want to share with me?

My paindr gave me a trail pack of the savella for my horrible fibromyalgia pain. I have been on Cymbalta 90mg and when i started doing research the information that i found said that u can not take these two meds at the same time because it can cause potentially fatal Serotonin Syndrome. I told that to my pain dr but she stated that is not true and these two meds can be taken together because they go to different areas of the body or something like that.

Failed to do that several times due to blood pressure rising and a convulsion. Needless to say I am totally away from anyone in the drug using world. I do have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, My Rheumatologist is hard to get in to see quickly but I am wondering if savella she gave me could cause serotonin syndrome? All I take is is lisinopril savella and the methadone. Could methadone contribute to serotonin with the milnacipran? the savella seems to be helping my fibro.

I have recently been dx with fibromyalgia. The rheumatologist prescribed Savella. I have just started taking Savella, but notice a headache throughout the back of my head and slight nausea. Is this "normal" for some people? And will the side effects disipate with time?

I have neuropathic pain down my arms, and in my hands and feet. Recently my Doctor gave me a titration pack of Savella to try. Savella is a medication used for the pain associated with Fibromyalgia. I noticed a reduction in the pain, burning and stinging sensation in my feet and hands even at the initial dose after the first few days. I also, bizarrely enough, noticed an improvement in my ability to urinate and empty my bladder.

I suffer from fibromyalgia and neurophy daily. When the pain is severe I can hardly stand it. Are there any new approaches to this condition. I am taking vicoden, cymbalta, pamelor and neurotyn?

I have those symptoms and they stink!!!! Savella has been working for a week now, doesn't mean it will continue ton work but for for now it is doing the trick!!

can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin,thats what i am on now,been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here knows if there is a negative interaction between the two. I am starting on Sevalla now (for fibromyalgia) and am in a state with legal medical marijuana (colorado). Does anyone know of any side-effects between the two? Or do i have to stick with just Savella altogether? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

My MD prefers the savella for me because I have been complaining of muscle and nerve pain. I tried the savella twice for about 2-3 weeks, but it seems to make me feel weird (I can't really explain the sensation, but I didn't like it). Has anyone had any experience with Savella for fibromyalgia or depression? I know it is ultimatly my decision to take a med, but I would really like some input from others who have depression and may have tried these meds.

I was wondering if anyone is taking savella and if so does it make you have hot flashes ?

Looking for info on Sarvella? Wondering if anyone has taken it for Fibro and if it helped? Thinking about discussing this med with my MD but was wondering the pros and cons from a personal experience? I have tried Cymbalta (recently tapered off) but did not feel any different on it. When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.

Dear Doctor,I was diagnosed with SLE/mixed connective tissue disease/fibromyalgia and raynauds syndrome 5 years ago. I have suffered for many years also with panic disorder,almost agorophobic and anxiety and now depression. My question to you is this, the SSRI's I have tried to help my conditions make my fibromyalgia etc..worse. I was excited about cymbalta but could not tolerate the side effects of this med although it was working on my fibro pain, anxiety etc....

I tried cymbalta up to 120mg which did not work and now savella. In just 24 hrs, savella has totally messed me up. I am extremely depressed and angry, alot of pain and nausea. The depression and anger is my biggest concern. Has anyone else experienced this in just a 24 hour period? I took the savella in the morning and literally felt the difference in me throughout the day. I never felt this way in the 2.5 yrs before getting diagnosed. This is horrible and very scary.

Hi, I have been taking Savella twice a day and it has made improvement. I am also a new medication called Nucynta at night before bedtime. These have definitely helped. Good luck!

I have had it for over 16 yrs now ! ( unfortunately) But I have been reading everyones post and saw a few on Savella..and I must say what I have read from the most of you on it....I am excited...and hopeful for once in a long time !!! ( cheers ) My pain gets sooo bad that I honestly get sick to my stomach from it. I take 10mg of Vicodin ( hydrocodone? ) 3x a day and Lyrica 75mg 2x a day..for the pain...but it barely takes the edge of it! I also have the sleep problem..

I have sever depression, anxiety, and fibro. I am currently on Savella, which seems to have worked somewhat well for fibro and depression. Unfortunately, what I cant control is the anxiety. I cant work. The PA Ive been seeing for the last 18 years wont even give me ten xanax a month, so I can rarely go out. I dont know if increasing the Savella will help calm the anxiety or not?

m looking for non-narcotic treatments for pain and a nurse friend mentioned it to me. I looked it up and found there can be some withdrawal from it but according to what I read, if you taper off, it's fine. Becoming dependent on oxycodone has left me worried about trying anything that says you need to taper off it, even if it's not a narcotic.

i tried cymbalta and it did nothing. itried savella and it actually helped me a little bit. i was able to cut back 1/2 to 1 pain killer a lot of days. i didn't stay on it because i couldn't afford it when we lost our insurance. i am normally hyper-sensitive to side effects and i didn't get any from savella.

I too have fibromyalgia and was diagnosed in 1994. Recently tried Savella. I thought my head would explode. The top of my head felt like it was in a vice grip. I was dizzy, nauseous, chest and shoulder pain, arms and legs tingled horribly. My pulse and Blood pressure went up (mine is always very low normally.). I had black areas in my vision that would stay for 10 mnutes or so. the top of my head itched like crazy. My heart pounded. I never even finished the trial package.

Hi. I was on Lexapro 10mg and PA took me off to start me on Savella. I have had extreme dizziness and pounding heart and spots in front of my eyes when I stand up. PA says this is from coming off the Lexapro. I have also been nauseous probably 5/7days a week. Did anyone else have nausea and dizziness possibly from the Savella? If you did, can you remember how long it lasted? Any other comments on your experience with Savella would also be appreciated. Thanks!
