Avatar f tn I have Raynauds phenomomen, so my hands get very painful when they get cold and because of the rheumatiod arthritis my joints in my hands get red and hot. You know all the doctors always want to put people on antidepressants for Fibro but I've yet to hear that they work at relieving the pain. I know several people like yourself is on something but they still have pain and the numbing and tingling. Have you been offically diagnosed.
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes pain and stiffness throughout the tissues that support and move the bones and joints. Pain and localized tender points occur in the muscles, particularly those that support the neck, spine, shoulders and hips. The disorder includes widespread pain, fatigue and sleep disturbances.
Avatar n tn My right knee, both hips and my arm joints are completely stiff. I have a cracking popping nose in my joints. My concern is that now I am noticing that my feet and ankles are swollen. I do my best to elevate them, but I do sit at a desk for most of the day. I also live in a hot and humid climate. I've been quite slim for years and I am suddenly feeling extremely bloated, and swollen like I am retaining water all over. I take a beta blocker for irregular heart beat.

This pain has gotten worse over these months and now it hurts to do anything, it even hurts to do nothing. My doctor has ruled out lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I am in the process of more tests now but I don't know what to do in the mean time. I have 3 kids and a husband to take care of but I can't even take care of myself. Please help me I'm miserable.
Avatar f tn Hyperflexibility of joints may be the first sign of chronic fatigue syndrome which also could be the cause of sudden painful jolts (like bulgingnveins with pain). Fibromyalgia too needs to be looked into. Hyperflexible joints are also seen in collagen tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Marfan syndrome Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Monster Multiple muscle groups may eventually become involved, with most patients experiencing pain in the neck, middle and lower back, arms and legs, and chest wall. These areas feel painful with even slight pressure and are called tender points (figure 1). Many patients with fibromyalgia feel that their joints are swollen, although there is no visible inflammation of the joints (arthritis). ### FIBROMYALGIA TESTS — There are no specific laboratory or imaging tests used to diagnose fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn fibromyalgia is a chronic condition causing pain, stiffness, tenderness on muscles, tendons and joints. There appears to be a diffuse disturbance in pain perception in fibromyalgia patients. Tattooing can elicit unknown responses in these patients because about half of them are known to have allergies. It may trigger muscular pains and other symptoms in these overtly sensitive individuals.

1170694 tn?1285097509 I am a 16 year old that has been diognosed with fibromyalgia, and find that my ankels crackle. Not pop, crackle. Now I find my hips and wrist are starting to do it too. It seems located with my pain centers. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem?
Avatar m tn I have numerous neuropathy issues, Fibromyalgia, arthritis and auto-immune disorders. All left over side effects from taking the toxic chemotherapy poisons. The symptoms you describe sound all too familiar. If you have been dealing with this for 2 years, surely you've addressed this with your doctor, right? What does your doctor have to say about this? If you haven't seen a doctor yet, you should. And I repeat, you should see a neurologist or rheumatologist to get help.
Avatar m tn Sounds like the mysterious Fibromyalgia. Those of us who have it take vitamins and minerals. Sometimes Gabapentin (anti seizure medicine) will help. My supplements include Essiac, CoQ10 and Ipriflavone. I have very few bad days now. But I do still have a "flare up" from time to time. There is no cure for Fibromyalgia yet.
Avatar f tn My arms and rest of body making crackling and crunching sounds. Also sensations of fluid in face and moving up and down arms. My fingers and forearms are the worst and feel numb occasionally. I've been to every type of specialist and no diagnosis. Anyone else have this?
Avatar m tn ve had chronic pain for almost 7 years now, beginning with trigeminal neuralgia and severe TMJ, and most recently, fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis.
626425 tn?1297532975 Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! One possibility is fibromyalgia. Apart from fibromyalgia multiple joint pain is seen in hypothyroidism, low Vitamin D levels, Low Vit B12 levels, anemia, Hashimotos thyroiditis, gout (can sometimes cause multiple joint pain), rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, SLE, electrolyte disturbance particularly those involving calcium and magnesium, parathyroid gland problems, chondrocalcinosis and chronic fatigue syndrome.
1532491 tn?1294594944 I had always thought it was weird how much my knees and wrist crack. But now my back and hip crack a lot too. And some days ill get the worst pain in all of those joints. Do you think it could be something bad? Please help. P.s. I dont purposely crack them. I just move and they crack. And the hip cracking, is that weird? Ive never heard of it before (i also have a problem with cracking my fingers and neck a lot and those hurt sometimes too.) P.P.S whenever i move some of my joints crack.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for 15 years and hip bursitis for 5 years. the more research I do the more I see how related they are. I am to the point after various therapies to consider using a walker at 55 years old. It is difficult for me to walk and to climb stairs. I use to be very active. Is there any research indicating why these two are so synonymous?
Avatar f tn I'm right with you.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 19 year old female who has been suffering from chronic pain of my muscles and joints. I experience this pain in my fingers, wrists, feet, ankles, knees, thighs and forearms. The pain is not so severe that I cannot function however it is pretty constant. I notice that the pain is at its worse when I am menstruating however, I do suffer from it even when I am not.
Avatar f tn however i dont have numbness, weakness or tremmors but i have cold sensations on my body, but i have just noticed i have been getting sore joints and stuff too and general body aches and pains all the time (im only 28 so shouldnt be feeling like this!!). I also have bad TMJ just like you. Am i suffering from fibromyalgia? Do i need to do a full body check-up for diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I sweat all night for no reason, I have continual pain throughout my joints (but no swelling ) besides the pain in my joints I also get other strange pains in my body and sometimes numbness and feelings of weakness particularly in my arms. My knees sometimes give way when i am walking, and my ankle when hurrying usually, my foot also sometimes locks into a painful position while walking and i have to stop and rotate it to unlock it.
Avatar f tn I went thru 48 months of treatment developed fibromyalgia and worsened joint and bone pain. I have lost a lot of dexterity in my hands and fingers don't have a lot of feeling at the tips, but that's from the treatment. Pre-treatment I had a lot of winter arthritis-like pain in my joints and hands. Don't know if this helps, but I'm new to this forum. Wish I'd seen it when I was on treatment.
Avatar m tn s show areas of spinal stenosis, worse in the neck, and some degeneration of the SI joints. I had a heart attack and cannot currently take any NSAIDS. I am living on Vicadin, and flexeril. Stomach was ruined years ago by arthritis drugs and now have stomach ulcers. So I am fighting pain daily, from the time I get out of bed. I have been told it is psoriatic arthritis, and I have been told it is FIbromyalgia, depending on which quack you talk to.

517902 tn?1314715429 Hi I had the same problem. Suffered from backache for 6 years (from 17) and thought nothing of it. Then all of my other joints starting hurting and within 3 months I couldn't bend my fingers/hands in the morning. I went to a rheumatologist and got diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis right away. Try to get to a rheumatologist or ask your doctor about fibromyalga and arthritis. Do you have pain or stiffness in any other joints? especially in the mornings.
