1560356 tn?1294835100 Many with Fibromyalgia have IBS and/or GERD, as digestive health issues often come with Fibromyalgia. I mentioned the area of the left breast specifically in regard to the sharp pain, because this area can be affected when the GERD is flaring up. As regards to the tight muscles and such, that is a different story. The feeling that no one seems to know what is wrong with you--welcome to the club.
Avatar m tn Since this event I have been experiencing constant spasm in my neck/trapezius for approx 7 months w/o any relief in symptoms. X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally.
Avatar m tn I've had acupuncture done myself and I highly recommend it for numerous symptoms and/or conditions. I recently read that the military was doing acupuncture. From the article (source below), "In one case, a patient broke into tears when the severe pain he had been suffering from for more than a year subsided within moments." I no longer listen to people who are skeptical about alternative medicine. I've been there, done that and am STILL doing it and with good reason....
Avatar f tn I am now almost 4 months post partem. I had a very difficult 36 hours of labor and then a c-sec. About 3 weeks after my daughters birth I started having severe body pain, especially in my joints. The pain is most extreme first thing in the morning, when I step out of bed the bottoms of my feet ache, knees, wrists, shoulders, etc.. Its very upsetting as on a bad day I can't even hold my baby. I've had blood tests done for RA, Lupus, and general inflamation, all tests came back normal.
Avatar f tn There are many other treatments for both migraines and fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago. I was like a cripple trying to get dressed. Taking a small dose of Trazadone helped me some. Over the years, I kept increasing it which cured most of my symptoms. There is a new fibromyalgia med called Savella which I read praise after praise on another website. Also anti-depressants can serve as pain killers.
Avatar m tn allergies, pollution, exposure to toxins or mold, systemic yeast infections or other fungal infections, certain bacterial infections (like Bartonella), Celiac Disease, and some chronic conditions, like Chronic Fatigue/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia, and a variety of autoimmune disorders. I have it as part of my Lyme Disease and Bartonella so I know how frustrating it is.

6794082 tn?1384952416 Some people get chiropractic adjustments for symptomatic relief. In other words, they have an ache or pain of some kind and chiropractic care offers them relief. Other people choose to get adjusted for wellness reasons. The improved motion, flexibility, and overall well-being they notice after the adjustments motivates them to continue receiving care on an elective basis. Ultimately, the answer to your question depends on why you're receiving the care you're receiving.
Avatar f tn I am 27 weeks and having terrible back pain. I am going to try chiropractic any thoughts? My chiro has experience with pregnant woman and my ob says it is fine.
Avatar n tn I have chronic pain because of inoperable cervical spondylosis and, polyneurapathy, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and osteopenia. I am terribly devoted to physical rehab, diet and exercise. Still, my pain persists. This continues even with big guy opiates. My neurosurgeon suggested i learn to live with the pain. I am finding this difficult to accept, isn't there something else I can do? Yes, I like acupuncture fine but am scared of chiropractic.
Avatar m tn I have the same exact feelings in my body, and I have fibromyalgia, and the vibrating, electrical impulses I was told are common symptoms for someone who has fibromyalgia, have you ever been checked for fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn They can eliminate all the other rheumatoid and autoimmune disorders and confirm a fibromyalgia diagnosis. They will also be able to prescribe meds that will effectively treat your symptoms. Don't give up until you find the combo that works right for you. I've had fibro my whole life and have had to fight to get any relief. Hot baths and heating pads are my best friends.
Avatar f tn Lyrica seems to work for me, however the side effects include drowsiness and weight gain. I also take baclophen, which is a muscle relaxent and Celexa for my depression. It is also used for fibromyalgia. If you are having trouble sleeping and don't want to take something addicting, Then take melatonin. It is a herbal med. Good Luck and Take Care.
Avatar f tn My understanding is that Chiari and chiropractic care do not mix. My neurosurgeon told me that having a chiropractor adjust your neck when you have Chiari "is like standing on the edge of a tiger pit and having someone give you a push." I also had a chiropractor tell me that chiropractic care in the neck area is contraindicated for those with Chiari.

534105 tn?1226157177 I visited after a new chiropractic specialist (he is MD also) and told me that maybe the chiropractic practic left my spine not aligned and this is the reason of my dizzines. I am now planning a secon set of sessions with this new Dr but I am a little scared of the risks involved. Do I have to put me on chiro again? or my arthrosis is a risk factor? Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn You probably haven't had any response on your question because most who come here have the same frustration that is normally dubbed "fibromyalgia" by the doctors. I've had the same complaint for about 18 years or so and at one point I could hardly raise my arms from the side out without terrible pain.
Avatar f tn These two treatments involve manipulatation of the body — spinal manipulation in chiropractic and soft-tissue manipulation in massage — to improve symptoms. Both chiropractic and massage have been shown to alleviate some pain and low energy associated with chronic fatigue. No definitive studies have proven the efficacy of either treatment, but chiropractic is thought to help CFS by stimulating the nervous system, while massage may benefit CFS because it improves circulation.
Avatar f tn with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have a neck injury from prior domestic abuse. I am getting worse. I don't know where to turn next to get help. I am frustrated at 3 hours a day I have to do something and then I have to lay down. Anyone know of any more tests to ask for, any new diagnoses? I am on Cymbalta and Percocet 5 mg. I hurt. I hurt so bad. Sometimes it feels like my bones ache. I would love to look up or try your ideas for something to help.
1369652 tn?1278298914 This is in addition to daily migraines, daily nausea, chronic tinnitus, parathesis and neuropathy, and, naturally, the rheumatoid arthritis. I also have celiac disease that has so far been unresponsive to a very strict gluten free diet. I have been tested very recently (within past couple of months) for multiple sclerosis and std's. I am not pregnant. I was screened in the past for crohn's disease and lupus. I do not have depression, anxiety, or fibromyalgia.
216278 tn?1308861082 I have since been medically discharged and subsequently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I recently just learned that some believe that in some cases that fibro is triggered by an accident or traumatic event. What I wonder is how much harder is it for people with fibro to go through ART's (advanced reproductive technologies) Or even pregnancy we should come off of most of our meds so we have to dig even deeper for the will to deal with the pain.
Avatar f tn i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a year ago after experiencing pain in my wrists and legs and was finding walking quite difficult on many occassions. i was quickly put on a medication called Naproxen which is similar to ibuprofen as it is an anti inflamitory medicine (i live in the UK and don't know if this medicine will be called this in other countries). i had previously tried ibuprofen itself but it didn't work.

Avatar m tn Unexplained aches and pains coming on and off could be due to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, H pylori infection, anemia, liver disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Vit B12 or Vit D deficiency and due to calcium or magnesium deficiency. It can also be due to sleep related disorders. In men it can be due to low testosterone. Severe anemia, and parathyroid gland disorders can also be the cause.
