1339501 tn?1285439404 Last week I had my first ultrasound. My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac).
Avatar f tn I heard as early as 14 wks but the probability goes up if you wait longer. Do you not have a fetal photo or sneak peak ultrasound around you? They'll tell you.
Avatar f tn I also had an u/s at 6 weeks where all they saw was a gestational sac (no yolk sac or fetal pole) by around 7 weeks there was a yolk sac, fetal pole and heart beat!! I think there are even women on here that have had to wait till closer to 8 weeks to see anything. My Dr. was also on the negative side, I think they feel the need to prepare you for the worst. (((HUGS))) The fact that your levels almost tripled is great! Let us know how your next appt goes!
Avatar f tn From wikipedia- During embryological development, some fetuses may form choroid plexus cysts. These fluid-filled cysts can be detected by a level II ultrasound (18–20 weeks gestation). The finding is relatively common, with a prevalence of ~1%. Choroid plexus cysts (CPC) can be an isolated finding, which confers a 1% (variable based on population studied) risk of fetal aneuploidy. The risk of aneuploidy increases to 10.5-12% if other risk factors or ultrasound findings are noted.
Avatar n tn going for my 7 week ultrasound tomorrow - last time saw gestational sac and something that they thought was start of fetal pole. should i see heartbeat tomorrow?
Avatar f tn Hi there Just went for another internal ultrasound today (friday) and they found a gestasional sac and yolk sac same as on Monday but still no fetal pole. They measured me at 6 weeks 1 day today.. They said the gest sac and yolk sac had grown accordingly since Monday so that was reassuring but told me to come back in a week to see if they can find fetal pole and hbeat. I've heard all sorts of variations on when they can find hbeat anything from 6 up to 8 weeks. What do you think?
Avatar f tn I would say a 20 week ultrasound is accurate. It can tell you the placenta's positions, baby's sex, baby's development, and about the amniotic fluid.
Avatar f tn I went for an ultrasound yesterday thinking I was 6 weeks and they dated me at 5 weeks 3 days. They found a gestational sac and a yolk sac but said it was too early to see a fetal pole or heartbeat. they said come back in a week. Would that this seem right?
Avatar n tn Usually the 5th week you will see the gestational sac but maybe no fetal pole. By week 6-7 you should see the fetal pole and if you're lucky a heartbeat. By week 8 you should get a heartbeat. So if you are only 5 weeks it sounds like your development is very good seeing both a fetal pole and hb. Did he mention what the heartrate was?? I am not sure what the "likely" fetal pole means because if there is a heartbeat then there is definitely a fetal pole there!!
Avatar n tn UltraSound test has been conducted of my wife which is in her 28 week of pregnancy, UltraSound reports says, 1, Single active alive fetus having cephalic presentation and normal fetal body and cardiac activity 2, Liquor volume is adequate 3, No gross congenital fetal Anomaly noted. 4, Placenta is anterior and away form internal os. Placental maturity: Grade- 11 5, Fetal age by LMP: 28.4 weeks BPD: 7.3 cm ------- 29 weeks 05 days FL: 5.
Avatar f tn 20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok? The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
Avatar f tn Week 6 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 4 weeks) 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. This pole structure actually has some curve to it with the embryo’s head at one end and what looks like a tail at the other end. The fetal pole now allows for crown to rump measurements (CRL) to be taken, so that pregnancy dating can be a bit more accurate.
Avatar n tn Choroid plexus cyst From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Choroid plexus cyst Classification and external resources ICD-10 G93.0 ICD-9 348.0 Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain.
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done at what I thought was 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac was seen but no fetal heart or fetal pole seen, and a repeat ultrasound to be done 10 days from then. Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.
Avatar f tn I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues. There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.
Avatar f tn i had my doctors appointment today the doc afformed me i was 6wks 3days today at the time of my first ultra sound i was approx 5wk 5days no heartbeat only yolk sak and development begfining so the doc said this was normal and heartbeats are usually detected in wk six or even wk seven the nurse tried to say there may only ever be a yolk sac and no bub but the doc and the lady who performed the ultrasound said no heartbeat or fetal pole can be normal at the early stage of five wks now im confused
Avatar f tn The fetal brain may create these cysts as a normal part of development. They are temporary and usually are gone by the 32nd week of pregnancy.
1255151 tn?1413891826 Thats what i was thinking too. I am not sure why my Dr kept insisting that they would be able to see something at that point. I would honestly rather wait until like 7 weeks when there is a chance of actually seeing if everything is ok.
Avatar m tn How common it is for early ultrasounds to be off in the first trimester, and how much? Doc wants to do one more checkup. My dates don't work so we've spent the last couple weeks trying to determine how far along I am. If I go by last bleed as LMP, I should be 7 and 2, but yesterday's ultrasound showed the sac measuring 5 and 4, and just a hint of fetal pole. No clear pole or hb yet. (Another post explains the whole story.
Avatar f tn I had my 36 week check up yesterday. The dr did an ultrasound to check on the baby. Dr said baby boy looked wonderful, he also should me that thr baby was breathing.. We watched it for like 10 mintues. I didnt no that babies in the womb could "breath." would fluid get in there lungs?
870180 tn?1269815819 Hi all!! I went in today for 8 week US and they discovered another fetal pole in the sac!!! This is very rare that two fetal poles share the same sac... only one has a hb that is low for 8 weeks and they are both measuring 2 weeks behind at 6w1d...Anyone have any similiar experience or comments all are welcome...the doc told me to prepare for a DNC but I am not going to do that just yet until I have a second and third opinion.
Avatar m tn i went in and they said according to my last menstral cycle i was 7 wks... then i had an ultra sound and it showed me being only 5 wks and no sign on an emryo so i went back 10 days later and the ultra sound showed me being 6 wks 3 days and there was an embryo as well as my babys heartbeat! so... im guessing you are just right at 6 wks if you are even that far bc my dr said you wont see a heartbeat until atleast 6 wks 3 days and possibly not even that soon!!
