fetal-development

Avatar f tn How did you get 8 weeks 3 days pregnant, and embryonic ages of 10 weeks 3 days and 9 weeks 2 days? What start point are you using when you count the 8 weeks 3 days number?
Avatar n tn My doctor said get a scan 8 or 9 weeks as earlier you may not see anything and can freak you out
1339501 tn?1285439404 My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac). Almost everything I read online pointed towards miscarriage, or me having my dates wrong (which is impossible because the last time I had sex was the given conception date).
1431138 tn?1294566894 I was just wondering cause a friend of mine is 12 weeks and said they told her there were girl parts today at her ultrasound. I think that's way too early to tell so I was just wondering.
511778 tn?1222823285 At our last u/s, @ 34.5 weeks, our u/s tech showed us baby's face; she just looked right at the u/s probe. It looked frighteningly ugly. I am trying to console myself by the fact that it was 2D and that many u/s pix look kind of weird. You have to take into account that your baby is basically floating in liquid and all squished.
Avatar f tn t here the heart beat so the hey did an ultrasound and found out that I was 8 weeks. I got pregnant right before my next period.
Avatar f tn I'm 22 weeks, this is my 4th pregnancy...2nd baby to make it past 8 weeks. Doctors where I live don't recommend u/s before 10 weeks to detect heartbeat because they are not accurate enough.good luck...
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done at what I thought was 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac was seen but no fetal heart or fetal pole seen, and a repeat ultrasound to be done 10 days from then. Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.
Avatar f tn Don't worry it's still early. At my 4 week ultrasound they saw a small sack & nothing else. 5 weeks they had a hard time seeing the yolk sac until the lead person did my transvaginalsound. 6 weeks they saw the sac, yolk, & tinyyyy baby with slow fetal pole. 8 weeks they did a regular ultrasound & saw a baby and saw fetal pole. Heard heartbeat when they did a transvaginalsound to hear it. However my doctor said I was lucky to see anything at 6 weeks. So you maybe 5-6 weeks.
Avatar f tn t have ultrasounds, so the only start point available was the first day of bleeding of the last period the woman had before she got pregnant. All the books with pictures of fetal development are calibrated to that counting system so they can tie the date to something definite. All the textbooks for medical students use that counting system. All doctors and nurses use that language. Even the pregnant woman uses that language.
Avatar f tn So I was scheduled another ultrasound today I should be 8 to 9 weeks since lmp we seen a larger sac, about 8 weeks 3 days, a shadow of a yolk sac, but nothing else. No heartbeat. No signs of a fetus or fetal pole. After the first ultrasound, I was told there was not enough development to determine viability. Again, 10 days later, same story, but sac growth. I just want to see if anyone else has dealt with something like this.
Avatar f tn They listened for it and told me that it was very early and that they could not hear it yet but they should be able to by 8 weeks and I never made it to 8 weeks to find out. Normally, Once your hcg is in the 2000-3000 mark they can see something in an ultrasound...and normally by 8 weeks like vacuumprincess said you normally see the heartbeat.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks (and got pictures) then a bedside Doppler at 10 weeks, a full ultrasound at 12 weeks (with pictures), then bedside Doppler at 14 weeks. The next ultrasound is October 15 which will be gender reveal.
Avatar f tn to see heartbeat will be at least 6 weeks or so.. sometimes can be 7 or 8 weeks... congrats.. don't worry too much.. will harm the development of the fetus...
8171562 tn?1408628833 22 weeks today, I'm excited we've made it to this point. Yet, I'm anxious for Thursday to come, we go back in for another ultrasound to check baby's heart. Please I ask that you send positive thoughts (or prayers, if you pray) our way. Thank you.
Avatar f tn in the afternoon she did the ultrasound again for the heartbeat which she saying that its very low n fetal development is slow as it show that its 5 weeks 6 days n she said its not possible that our measurement is wrong so for sure its going towards miscarriage n she said we have to monitor your body till there is a heartbeat as i have no spotting or bleeding yet.
Avatar f tn Sac grew from week 6 but tech said there is a good chance pregnancy is not viable. What is typical for 8 weeks? I did not have ultrasound until week 12 with my first.
Avatar f tn Normally a gestational sac with a yolk sac appears at about 5 weeks (calculated from your last missed period date) of pregnancy and can be well visualized by 6 weeks on a transvaginal (through a vagina) ultrasound (so it can be missed at 5 weeks), when you can see a fetal pole too. Fetal heart beat usually appears by 8-9 weeks. This is why it is best to repeat the scan a week or two later. At times the sac appears but there is no baby inside. This is called blighted ovum.
Avatar f tn they dont want the baby to be to big...and the ultrasound most people have to check the fetal size is a fetal size and development ultrasound to see how your baby is developing and so im pretty sure that if they were concerd about the development and baby not being fully developed they wouldnt change the due date.
1361098 tn?1277606278 With my 3rd pregnancy I spotted from 6 weeks to 15 weeks and my son is now 8. Also they were not able to see a heartbeat until 6w5d with him so I would make sure you get a repeat ultrasound if they dont see anything yet. Dont count yourself out, things can still be ok even with spotting. Good luck to you.
