Avatar n tn Dr drew blood to check my hcg levels because he believes im very early in the pregnancy. But calculating the date od conception and start of my laat period, it was about a month ago. What stage/ how many weeks into the pregnancy does heart/brain/organs starr form?
Avatar n tn The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain. The choroid plexus has the important function of producing a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid produced by the cells of the choroid plexus fills the ventricles and then flows around the brain and the spinal cord to provide a cushion of fluid around these structures.

Avatar m tn The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
Avatar f tn The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life. When you are 5 weeks pregnant, your baby's heart is made up of two tiny channels called heart tubes and they're already hard at work, beating to their own drummer (it will be weeks before those beats become coordinated).
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar n tn New Version Read this through, it will only take 5 minutes. The Human Skull Defect First of all, I want you all to take a look at the picture below. http://www.mypicx.com/uploadimg/737810193_05202010_1.jpg The above is a skull of a human, while the one below is of a Gorilla. Notice the difference between the height of both skulls. Now here's a picture of a human skull alone including the part of the neck or cervical vertebrae. http://www.mypicx.com/uploadimg/1557312481_05282010_1.
1133565 tn?1261315212 i went for my first scan 2 days ago where i found out i was 6 weeks and 4 days. the docter never told me the rate of the heartbeat but did show me on the screen. 'my baby' measured 8mm at this stage is that normal? because ev everyone im speaking to says it is far too big and should be around 5mm.
Avatar m tn Could this extent of starvation affect development of facial features or skull development. Could it also have affected height and penis growth. I've stayed the same height at 179cm since 15.

Avatar m tn They do not have any long term studies to show the effects on fetal development. My current dr says the same thing, when pg stay clear of it as possible.
1215833 tn?1287969475 does anyone know if this could be related to the bump from the fall, or what a cyst feels like... or if it could be normal development of the skull. I have a hard bump on the back of my head that the dr said is normal. I m a health worrier , and wanna make an appt for the dr to feel it, should i make an appt for peace of mind? Just wondering if anyone has seen or felt this with their LO.
Avatar f tn Congrats on your transfer! Everyone is different. I had a 5 day fresh transfer of just 1. I was convinced it didn't work based on cramps and feeling like AF was coming, but instead I got my BFP and my daughter is just about 12 weeks old now. Truth is, with all of the medications and hormones we take as IVF patients, it's really impossible to discern possible pregnancy symptoms from the effects of the medications.
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes, that is too early to see a fetal pole or cardiac activity. In ten days, you should see a nice change with development of a little "grain of rice" with a tiny flickering heart beat. I wish you the best!
Avatar n tn There is no need to worry and yes, your guess is correct it will take some time to have regular periods. And this cause is because some of the pregnancy hormones are present in the body till then you'll have irregular periods. And start taking prenatal vitamins before you know that you are pregnant.
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
Avatar f tn 20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok? The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
