Fentanyl wisdom teeth

Common Questions and Answers about Fentanyl wisdom teeth

I read about this and remember when I quit Fentanyl. Fentanyl did me so much damage, it almost killed me. I went cold turkey which is difficult but worth the result. Keeping you mind strong that you need to get control of you mind and body and not the drugs is the most important focus. You will feel much better once the drug is out of you system and you will be able to think clearer. Keep the advise mentioned here and stay on top of vitamins.
Im on suboxone and I take 3 quarters a day of the tablets, im getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed and will be sedated, they are doing a IV and local anesthesia. I do not want to tell the surgeon because they will look at me differently. What should i do taper myself to a quarter a day and then not do any the day before and of the surgery? What should i do and will i be ok if i do that?
I am on my sixth day without any fentanyl at all. I have been on it for almost 5 YEARS. I had a terrible car accident in 2003 and have been on as much as 75 mcg. every 48 hours. I have been tapering down since about March of this year, and did the "cut the patch" thing (with MYLAN only) on the 25's for about a month and got it down to about a third of a patch for about 2 weeks and then nothing. I am miserable.
I go in in the morning to get all four wisdom teeth pulled. I have no idea if the dentist will be able or willing to help with pain control. AND tonight I broke my pinkie toe. It hurts so bad. Throbbing. So shouldn't the patch be helping with my toe? Is it even going to help with my teeth. I am SO SO SO scared. Getting teeth pulled is a phobia of mine. That is why I am just going in to do it at 34 years old and only because they starting coming in last week through my gum line.
The other narcotics I had been on had some unpleasant side effects for me but nothing like the Fentanyl. I wound up having teeth break, craving all kinds of sugar. I had never taken sugar in coffee or tea and started using 4-5 huge spoons of sugar. I felt lazy and disconnected. I started isolating and I used to be very social. The pharmacist told me Fentanyl is harder to come off as it can be stored in your fat and possibly bones.
I'm not looking forward to this but then again who is lol, thank you for the help and I will keep posted on my progress, I am due to get my wisdom teeth out in the next week so I don't know how that's going to feel lol, for a user that's almost everyday from 15-30 mgs hydromorphone a day do you suggest a taper or cold turkey?
I have FM and had all of my wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday. But ever since waking from the GA, I feel very very very depressed. I have a history of depression but things were stable for a while now. Since waking up, I've lost my appetite (not because of the teeth, in fact they don't hurt at all), constantly crying, upset very easily, ended up hyperventilating and locked all the muscles in my arms'.
I have never had anything serious enough to make me take pain pills even when they were perscribed after having children, a kidney stone and four wisdom teeth removed; which, I did without them, because I did not believe that it was necessary for that minor stuff. I bet you are chuckling at that compared to a titanium humerus? but mayby this is enough for you to do a short term patch or short term pain meds in the future.
i have had multiple crowns with no problems. i had my wisdom teeth pulled (by someone else) in 2002 and had a dry socket which took a week to clear up but used ice and ibuprofen for the pain. also had 3 root canals with no additional pain meds. biggest dental work was pulling a lower front tooth and then adding a 4 tooth bridge (which meant filing down the other 3 teeth). my tooth puller gave me vocodine but my dentist just said ibuprofen after filing the teeth and adding the temporary bridge.
Fentanyl and oxycontin for your wisdom teeth. I think that is a bit much..
this began my opiate journey. I have been prescribed everything from Hydrocodone to Fentanyl. At one point, I was using a 150mcg patch every 48 hrs. along with 15mg Oxycodone 4x per day. My tolerance was through the roof. To make a very long story short, in march, 2013 it was time to wean off of all the opiates and see if I could manage my pain with other types of medication. By May, I was a complete wreck. I was out of the w/d phase but craved the opiate like nothing before.
They said Virtual will not show them what they need to see. When I went to get my wisdom teeth out the doctor said YES must be put out. Then they couldnt put me out so it was done away. It was a joke and didnt hurt at all. So I wonder if people are put out for the doctors or the patients? I can't get an answer other than no you don't want to do it. Just no one can tell me why I don't want to do it?
Cuz my wisdom teeth are coming in! But that didnt work out so well one turned into another and now the bottle is gone. and here i am back at day 2! I hope ur stronger than me! How did you get into taking the hydros in the first place if you dont mind me asking?
Over 15 years ago my wife had all four wisdom teeth pulled; she got some great meds for the pain. Since she and her family don't really use pain meds, I took them. Just like you, I took my spouse's meds for pleasure. That was 15 years ago, and I wish I could go back and flush the meds. Don't even start. You'll probably have some mild withdrawals, then you'll be free. Listen to the people on this forum; we've been there, done that. We had to learn the hard way.
Sorry the news with you isn't better Trouble. You sound pretty down...I'm sorry. Does chiropractic help you? What's happening with the teeth? I hope you don't proceed to a patch just yet;unless all options are exhausted. We're do here for another roll call...Gizzy?? Keep in touch! How are the kids and animals?
I take Neurotin 900mg 3 times a day with Tramadol 100 mg three times a day also, and even that high dose of pain med I still am not getting any relief. Ok Im jumping off subject for just a sec, I had four wisdom teeth tooken out and they gave me Oxycodone, and low and behold my pain lessens dramatically with my MS.. But I asked the doctors if there was anything else that they could try for me, and the answer NO..My ? is.....
Yes, I did get oxycodone (percocet) Many times for my teeth, when I had my wisdom teeth out, when I had an absess in my tooth and I also received percocet when I break my finger. I think it's crazy as well, but many dentist give it out after tooth extraction (especially wisdom teeth) and alot give it for absess. As far as the Narcotics comment, I didnt say anything about that. I simply said Narcotics are for people in pain.
t gotten loopy yet, which is dissapoointing because my friends wanted a repeat of when I took the pills for my wisdom teeth being taken out. I was very loopy. But anyways, I just took my pills, because i woke up in soo much pain, I fell asleep and forgot my meds... so I am jsut waiting on them to work. My advice talk to your doc about the toridol and percocet combo.... it works for me...and I am not loop at all, but I do get a little tiny bit lighthead when I walk to the bathroom.
I had cause to find myself without the services of a pain management Doctor about 7-8 months. Which meant going cold turkey off 100 mcg Fentanyl Patch. Which in turn only highlighted what (I knew but had closed my eyes to) was, in fact, a much worsening problem in my spine.
My 18-year old son refused pain meds when he got 4 impacted wisdom teeth out and this year refused them for post surgery pain after tearing the meniscus in his knee. Both doctors tried to talk him into percocets and I told them keep the script. If he needs it, we'll call. He iced and alternated Tylenol and Advil. You'll get through this and come out stronger in the end. Listen to those that have been down this path and have been successful. They're here to help.
Withdrawal and the real scenario is just too complicated. Nobody here would understand, and keep me stable. Any words of wisdom would be great. Thanks!
since I breastfeed I cant take almost anything, Tylenol pm for a couple days tops, I will look in to emergen c I haven't heard of it , I am already doing the generic version of ensure I cant seem to eat, it too me the entire day to eat a chocolate chip pancake, and a package of fruit snacks. and I think I have carnation instant breakfast from when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I have tons of herbal remedies that I cant use bc it would not be safe for him.
My son made a loud noise so I turned really fast to see what he was doing and every since my face has been hurting worse and the area that I had surgery on in my mouth has been hurting pretty bad and my eye and where the surgern took my wisdom tooth out. I am not sure why all this is hurting worse but I have meds that help and I will just have to deal with what it don'[t help for now. It hasn't hurt like this since I had surgery there.
Who just had their wisdom teeth out? Sad but true, when I can't get my hands on any. I've never had something completely take my life over like the way vicodin has. I don't even eat at times scared of it ruining the euphoria I experience. Its all the way you guys explained it. I associate happiness with vicodin. When I take it, its almost like I'm on cloud nine. I'm wonder woman I can face life and ride it like a roller coaster and its just that much better.
i know alot of people say that but they are just confused. my wisdom teeth are rotting because i can't reach all the way to the backa nd they are impacted and at a weird angle so the plaque stays on there longer and the dry mouth makes it impossible for it to come off.
I've always enjoyed the high of opiates and remember getting my wisdom teeth removed as a kid. I'd hoarde my vicodin during the day and get by on ibuprofin so I could take 3 at once at night and float away. So, I knew what I was doing when I started to complement my prescribed dosage by buying oxy from anyone who was willing to sell it. Once I got a good and affordable source, my tolerance went through the roof.
I had all of my wisdom teeth removed with only local anesthetic (and I have very, very severe anxiety disorder) and I felt fine afterward, but these people who get anesthesia seem to get sick for like a week afterward in pain. I took 2 ibuprofen and that was it. I may need to get a colonoscopy, and in spite of having panic attacks and extremely bad anxiety, I *know* I will be calmer without twilight sedation.
My 83 year old mother in law broke her hip. Is doing great. Waved away the pain meds and took Motrin! My wife had four impacted wisdom teeth. After one day flushed her vics because she didn't feel like being "loopy". I was using at the time and went into a mild coma after 40 something perfectly good meds went down the drain. They are out there. It's a beautiful thing.
Had multiple surgeries for teeth and jaw over the past 2 years. also have a herniated disc and sciatica. I self medicated that myself. Was up to 60-100mgs a day of pain pills. before finding this forum I tapered myself down to 30mgs a day. Was only taking enough to be "normal" I have been tapering ever since.. I had some medical stuff happen and have had to take pills for pain a few times.. but I am back on track now. Planning my wedding in 7 weeks. Welcome to all the new faces..
