Fentanyl strength

Common Questions and Answers about Fentanyl strength

I read about this and remember when I quit Fentanyl. Fentanyl did me so much damage, it almost killed me. I went cold turkey which is difficult but worth the result. Keeping you mind strong that you need to get control of you mind and body and not the drugs is the most important focus. You will feel much better once the drug is out of you system and you will be able to think clearer. Keep the advise mentioned here and stay on top of vitamins.
I began taking it even when I did not need it for pain and became addicted and tolerant to the medication... About 5 months ago, I got on Fentanyl Patches at 25mcg then increased it to 50, and now am on 75... I need to get off this and tried last month and I couldn't, it was too hard... My question is, what is the right way to get off of the Fentanyl without wanting to die. I am a registered nurse and am getting my nurse practitioner degree and will be done with my masters degree shortly...
A couple of things, changing them daily basically means you are giving yourself 2x the amount your supposed to get, this can cause a major overdose, so PLEASE please please, don't do that. Talk to your doctor if the strength isn't helping. The other thing is they work better if you put them on "fleshy" area's, they absorb better through fat than muscle. I hope that helps. Good luck to you.
Feeling weird weird on these and thinking it's just the start up feelings from the Fentanyl. I'm also on on Celexa and that apparently is not a good combo. So i asked the Doc to get off the Fentanyl and he said OK and gave me my normal dose of Vicoprofen. Of course i'm having big time whidrawls from not being on the Fentanyl. So my question is what do i need to overlap 75mcg off fentanyl?. do i need to go to Percocet or something else to not have the whidrawls coming back ?.
I took off my last patch on November 5th. I was on Fentanyl for 2 years at 100mcg/72 hours. I do not know for sure but am thinking that at some point I will begin to sleep. At day 20 clean and sober I am only able to rest for awhile(2 hours at a time and I never really get to sleep-the pain in my body is increasing.......any responses are appreciated. Thank you.
I hope you won't mind me asking, but what strength is your patch and your oxy's? I wish you the very best and hope that you will keep in touch with your progress. Thinking of you.........
I was taking 4-5 75mg percoset a day. I am afraid to continuet the fentanyl and decided to stop. I just took off the patch that I was on for 48 hours. Can I expect any withdrawal symptoms? Should I just put on the 50mcg? I am 71 years old and my heartbeat went down to 52.
narcotics do not come anywhere near the strength of the fentanyl patch. It's because of this that the debate still stands. There are many people who are abusing these drugs and the number of them and danger we are all in when it comes to pharmaceutical dependency grows larger every day...it's a very serious matter. However, if taken in moderation, as my fiance has been, they can be beneficial. Unfortunately, his oxy and roxy situation is a double edged sword.
My mother (80 years old) has been on the Fentanyl patch for some years now for chronic back pain She has gone from 50s to 75s trying to see which one handles her pain. For a while she was on the 50s and was having break- through pain. Dr. prescribed Lortab at night. Then the Dr. moved her to 75s and also continued with the nighttime Lortab. When I visited recently(in assisted living), it appeared the nurses were dispensing the Lortab whether mom was having break-through pain or not.
The benefit of fentanyl is not great and yes, I think I was in worse pain on fentanyl than anything else. How are you feeling now? Have you checked in with a doctor?
I don't know about the fentanyl, but I know I've seen people post recently about it,maybe their just not on right now.Hang in there.
5/500 mg Hydrocdone a day. The pain management doctor wants me to use the 25 mcg. fentanyl patch, but my Rhumetalogist seemed to have a strong reaction to this and the pharmacy treated me as if I am a druggie when I went to pick it. I worry about taking medication, but don't know what else to do for the pain. Does anyone out there use Fentanyl? Is it as addictive as they say? Should I worry about the amount of hydrocodone I'm taking. By the way everyone acts, I feel like a druggie...
I too have been thru the worst Fentanyl can dish out. Last March I was using the Fentanyl Lolipops, and was up to 1600mcgs a day! I stopped c/t, and went to a 25 mcg patch. I was puking shaking, sweating, cramping, vomiting,(out of both openings, including the back). It was pure hell on earth. I just recently went up to the 50mcg patch for 1 month, and now went back down. I wasn't expecting it to be this nasty. But I at least know what to expect. I think I am thru the worst.
I made a post on April 3, 2014. Same title: Fentanyl Detox. Please read my previous post. So far no responses. I am in pain, burning on fire from the inside out from the detox. I am about 12 days off the patch. I am in misery. I posted before the things I am doing to help myself. Please, if anyone has any suggestions or knows how long this insane burning will last please speak up and let me know. I am so suffering. Would appreciate any advice! Thanks so much!!!!
I saw my pain doctor today and he put me on Fentanyl patch 25mgs every 72 hours. I have read all the papers on it and searched it on the internet. If there is any info on the patch that you don't read on the paperwork I was wondering if you could share. I put it on about a hour ago. My pharmacy gave me some things to go over the patch so it don't get wet, she said I can also buy them she gave me 2 of them.
That is the major accomplishment to start and from there, it takes even more strength to do this. Build that mental strength, get as much support as you can, in any way you can, even if you have to join a group. I will be honest to say, this is a very hard devil to clean your system out of BUT IT CAN BE DONE! Research people on line who have gone through this. Educate yourself on building your health back up again.
Addicted to Fentanyl patches , wondering how long i have to be in withdraws before starting suboxzone. Can I take clondine while in withdraws, any advice apperciated.
You dont want to cut the patches - there is a risk of overdose when you cut a time release medication and it is all absorbed at once......Using the various strength patches you should be able to arrive at a taper... Or your Doc may want to put you on a different med to taper down...
Ruby would you mind informing us of the type of pain that caused your Doctor to put you on the Fentanyl Patches as well as what strength you were on? Knowing what your diagnosis is and how long you have had this diagnosis would be of help. :) I'm on the Fentanyl Patches. The strength that I'm onis 87mcg's. Did you have anything for your BT (Breakthrough) Pain? I've been prescribed Percocet 10/325 3 times a day.
I used the Fentanyl patch for some time as well after a series of 9 operations. The withdrawl that you are feeling after 5 days is nothing compared to what is coming.. I personally had 15 days of a pure living HELL. Suicidal thoughts, etc.. My kids are what kept me going. You willl not even begin to go throgh the true withdrawl syptoms until you are completely off the patch. I wish you the best.
On first visit, they changed me from Norco 10/325 one every six hours, prescribed by my PCP to fentanyl patch 12mcg. I have severe tmj (have had 4 surgeries) and am waiting for a jaw replacement surgery. I am 31 years old. Today I saw a different doc at PM clinic who prescribed 50mcg patch. I thought the Norco was working well and didn't really want to switch, but they insist I try it. To make a long story short, the patch makes me feel like crap and I am not having relief.
Fentanyl is hard to come off, even if you taper it. I don't think Tramadol will help much, and that drug comes with its own demons. Even if you're not an addict, you are dependent, andI would suggest checking out the Substance Abuse forum as it has lots of tips on what helps withdrawal symptoms. I'd be surprised if you came away with none. The Clonidine will help with some withdrawal symptoms.
it's possible that you're not getting the needed relief because fentanyl is different than morphine,it's strength is much stronger and totally a different drug.synthetic, however, taking so many vicodin with tylenol can mess your liver.fentanyl slowly absorbs through the skin, must be rotated and maybe having a higher mg and less Vicodin would help.it's not going to give you a heady feeling,so if you expect to get a high, you won't.it treats pain not meant for a rush.
I was self medicating using up to 100mcg/hour pretty pathetic right? I finally told my husband & he said quit & I'll support you through and he could get the real me back! Nice right? I love him sooooo much. So answer to your other question is yes, I have great help!
What type of pain were you put on the Fentanyl for? Were you taking anything for breakthrough pain while on the Fentanyl? Why are you comimg off the Fentanyl and is your doctor on board with it? Did you ever abuse your meds? Are you planning on comimg off all your meds or just the Fentanyl? How do you plan to treat your pain in the future? Lastly, do you have any underlying health issues like hihh blood pressure or cardiac issues?
hello well iv been weend of the fentanyl i was on 300 milss of fentanyl every day i was stabalised with methadone after two weeks of being stabelised my pain in my back is becoming unreal again every morning the pain is so bad i just lay there in pain the thought of movin is unberable.
It has been a month today that I have quit the fentanyl patch (50mcg) and I have been prescribed diazipam to help with the anxiety 1/2 tab 3times a day but I only take this as needed when the anxiety gets rough. The sleeping is the worst part. The legs kicking is getting better but sporadic sleeping but at least I am getting a couple of hours now and then. I take vitamins, force myself to eat, take walks when ever possible, baths, and even take Melatonin (over the counter).
Here I am 4 years later and am still taking 4 or 5 200 strength and 2 400 strength a day. Of course I have become more tolerant over time and it takes more to feel better. I just had to have all my teeth pulled due to radiation affects over time. Now I really don't have that much pain. I would like to either get off this stuff totally or at least lower the amount I take. They have been a crutch now and my doctor is threatening to stop prescribing the drugs.
