374225 tn?1269899262 I was getting the Patch by Sandoz which was working great and then the Pharmacy decided that Sandoz was too expensive and restocked the shelves with the Mylan Patch. After refilling my scrip with the Mylan I had noticed over the next day that I had increased pain and felt fluish. I brushed it off and chocked it up to me just not feeling good. After putting the next patch on I had noticed the samething going on and reaized that the patch was not preforming like the Sandoz.
Avatar f tn I've been enduring brutalizing constant lower abdominal pain (from a genetic condition) for years, my Dr has just recently started me on fentanyl patches with dilaudid for breakthrough pain. I started with 12.5 mcg mylan patches every 72 hours about 1 month ago. While the dose is not yet correct it is obvious this treatment is a vast improvement to anything else ever tried, while still completely disabled I am able to imagine leaving my home for the first time in years!
Avatar n tn If you take off a Mylan Brand patch and you stick it to something, Can you reuse that same patch days later? Someone has advised me to use two old ones at the same time to equal one new one, but this definitely didn't sound right? If anyone can help I would be most grateful. I am on vacation and our trip has been delayed I cant get home for a week! I am scared to death and there is absolutely no way for me to get a new script here!
Avatar f tn Did the increase your breakthrough meds to help you step off the fentanyl? What type of patches are you using (Mylan, sandbox, duragesic etc.
Avatar n tn I have been on the Mylan Brand patch now for 7 years, just recently changed to the Johnson&johnson brand due to having no insurance, because the Mylan were $270 per month and the J&J are at no cost to me. I'm having a hard time finding this brand in any drug store in my area. I live in Southern Maine, South Berwick, Maine to be exact. Do you know what pharmacies in my area have this brand of Fentalyn Tr. P 75 mcg? Thank you, M.
Avatar f tn Hello and Welcome. I have heard others say that they can tell the difference between Fentanyl Patches. It's my understanding that Mylan and Teva have basically the same delivery system which is the matrix design which incorporates the drug into the adhesive. What explain this? Maybe it's the way your system metabolizes the way the manufacturer makes the drug.
Avatar m tn Just began on fentanyl patches for chronic pain. I have had radiation damage but am a cancer survivor so not bitter just tired of pain.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if you take a Fentanyl patch off and try to use it again in a couple weeks Is it still good?
Avatar f tn i use the Fentayl 100mc mcg per hour; the(1) patch is placed on thr skin every 72 hours. The patch provides relief to me for up to 48-50 hours only. I am feeling some relief now after 4 years yhough i still take 3-4 oxycodone IR 15mg during the day. my only concern with pstch id thst they make 'SWEAT' alot; which i have never been one too sweat and the Mylan patches come off by the time i wake up in the morning. i must now use the i transparent cover up(derm0 patch.
Avatar f tn I use the Mylan Fentanyl patches and wonder if they can be cut to help with tapering. I see a Pain Doc Specialist for my back and chronic pain...last disc replacement was in October 2013. All my meds are from him and used as prescribed, I'm just interested in getting through this weaning process quicker you know? I keep getting differing opinions online. Thank you for your help.
Avatar f tn I've been on fentanyl 50mg for 7 months and I really want off of it now. I tried to just rip off the patch several months ago...very bad move. It was terrible. I've read where you could cut the patch if it was a mylan patch only. I also read where someone went from 50mg to 25 to 50 then went 25 to 50 to 25 and then 25 to 25 to 25mg as a way to work my was down on the dosage. I'm really scared.
Avatar n tn I have been on 100 mcg of fentanyl for 8 years and want off. Twenty patches a month! I want off I want to live again not just exist. Help me.
1638239 tn?1300404202 Just ask your Doctor to prescribe the Mylan Brand for you. They are the small ones with the Fentanyl IN THE ADHESIVE. Again, best of luck.........
Avatar f tn TxAli369 I have notice extreme (EXTREME) sweating since my pharm company switch from Mylan Fent Patches. I am actually dripping, then 2 seconds later I am freezing!! Has any one notice this? Thanks for any help!! **Wanted to post this** If you check with your electric company, they have programs for people on disability for reduced rates. My new rate is half of what it was last summer. My Dr. had to fill out a form and fax it back to the electric company. Hope this helps someone.
535089 tn?1400673519 The pharmacy changed to the Mylan brand and I dont have the itching problem anymore.I personally feel the Mylan brand is not as effective though.
Avatar f tn I'm on the 75 mcg Fentanyl patch now for a while. In the beginning it didn't seem to come off. Lately, the edges seem to unstick. It also buckles. It's pretty big, even the pain clinic NP thought it was large. She didn't write for any particular brand. I think it's manufactured by Watson. It has the gel inside. I really like it for the pain control but it bugs me that it doesn't stick. I've put it on my arm on different spots and now tried it on my chest.
1264863 tn?1391118193 I am sure some of you saw my posts on switching from Oxycodone to Fentanyl patches these last couple weeks. Besides the fact that I can't seem to get them prior authorized for the ammount I need to keep out of pain I also can't get them to stay on. I have tried the mylan brand only. Heard it was the best but????? Put them on my back, wrist, hip, nothing is sticking longer than a day. I have covered them with tagaderm and they fell off, tape bubbled, I am at a loss.
Avatar m tn Last month, my first month on the patch, I was using the Mylan brand and I was switched to every 48 hours. But after reading the archives here, some people were not very happy with the brand. (not all, some) Im just wondering if that brand is why they faded so bad at 60 hours. I just opened one of the Aveva's to see what kind apatch it is. it looks like the same rubber type as the Mylan was. I dont see any gel. I cant open it all the way as I am not due a change till tomorow.
Avatar f tn As Sara said, Mylan makes a different type of patch. I use the Mylan Brand Fentanyl Patch 62 mcg. I just added the 12mcg to my 50mcg 2 days ago. They are the smaller ones and don't have the gel filling. They're the only ones that I have used and I love them as there is VERY little chance that you can get too much in your system at one time, unlike the gel filled which people have had many problems with. Did your Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi Accelermom3, First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are VERY glad that you have found this Forum. I need for you to understand that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. We are ALL CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences from our personal CP Issues. I'm so sorry that you are going thru this with your Patches. I too use the Fentanyl Patches.
Avatar m tn The Mylan brand is NOT gel filled. I'm not sure which is but MYLAN is NOT. I would think that you Doctor will HAVE to write it on your prescription for you. If that's what he wants you to take. Best of luck to you and PLEASE let us know if you are able to find them.......
9258244 tn?1402972453 we cannot give taper advice, but if you search this site for fentanyl taper or getting off fentanyl then you will find old posts that do share taper advice.
Avatar n tn Tegaderm is the way to go. A little expensive but if you contact the manufacturer customer service dept by phone or email from their website they will quite often provide this free of charge. Just make sure you have the Lot number of your fentanyl. Both Mylan & Mallinkrodt have been very good about this.
