My pcp doctor drug tested me and claims NO drugs were in my system ! She claims i broke the drug contract i signed and wont see me anymore. How is this possible ? I demanded a retest and was told no, the dr even suggested my caregiver was taking them or we were selling the stuff ! Im going thru withdraw now, alone with no weening just an abrupt stop cuz she wont refill the script and dont know where 2 turn.
Thanks so much Ellen, hadn't thought about one of the OTC drug tests, wonder if fentanyl would show up in one...only thing is with just one left I wouldn't know when to take it! I'd have to get a test and try it when I get my new Rx & see how long it takes to show up in my urine, in case I have another bad month, I'm sure I will the way things are going with my son & all, anyway THANKS AGAIN for your reply!!!
I blindly went along with my doctor prescribing the Fentanyl patch along with other meds for BT pain. I realized the Fentanyl had a lot of negative things for me (like increase in sugar intake, nodding off when I stopped doing anything, no short term memory.) Do a search on Fentanyl here and see what people have gone through with it.
Personally I think it should only be used for end of life pain. If you have reason to think you won't ever come off it, then it would be okay.
It now makes perfect sense to me why you are in so much pain on the Fentanyl. Converting 360 mg of Oxycontin to Fentanyl results in 150 mcg/hr...this is conservative. Converting Fentanyl to equal 360 mg of Oxycontin with the opioid calculator results in 300 mcg/hr. This is the largest dose conversion that is shown in the fentanyl prescription leaflet that comes in the box with the medication. So your doctor's thoughts that you need to keep going up on the Fentanyl patch are CORRECT.
Just curious? A friend of mine told me she's on fentanyl patches. We got into a slight conversation, becuz I told her I was detoxing off percocets.(proudly I might add), she said it was an opioid. So my question is, does opioids do the same thing as far as our receptors, and endorphins in our brains from percocets. With the patch she said she has never felt the things I described to her. I was just curious, does fentanyl patches work the same way as percocets?
what is the half life of oxycodone in cats? I've heard it works well for pain in cats. I'm trying to get more information on what may help my 12 year old cat. I'd like to have my questions in order before I pay my/her vet?

I have never heard of a treatment center specifically for Fentanyl. All of the centers I am familiar with or have heard of deal with drug & alcohol abuse in general. A drug is a drug is a drug is pretty much the issue. In other words, the centers deal with the disease of addiction no matter what the DOC.
Do you have insurance and are you able to take the time to go into treatment?
Educate yourself on what to expect because this Fentanyl is a VERY powerful drug to get off of. It has many side effects you may not realize. This medication shut down my digestive tract and created problems with my pancreas and the weight loss was scary and that is what made me quit. This drug works on the brain centers perception of pain and really screws with the mind. You may not be aware of how powerful these drugs are but they do take control.
My girlfriend tested positive for fentanyl after almost 5 mouths latter on a urine test. She was in a drug court program in jail. And they didn't test her till she had completed and was to be sent to a halfway house. She was a chonice iv user. About 3 grams a day for about 3 years straight. I don't know the mil of the drug per dose. But I know it never should have been sold on the street. The amount she was doing in one shot.
Yeah, what hab63380 said. Just because you pee in a cup everytime does not mean they're drug testing you, its just to check your sugar. They drug tested me my first lab and if its positive, they will do another in the future. If not, they dont do it again. You can always ask your doctor.

That might depend on what dosage you are on. The lower dosage shouldn't show up at all while the highest dose may show up with trace amounts. At any of the dosages the amount of steroid you are getting is so small and the medicine goes directly where it is needed that very little if any can make it into your blood streem.
I assume you are wanting to know for sports reasons, there would be absolutely no issue with Advair on an employment test. Asthma steroids are corticosteroids.

I developed pancreatic problems and it doped up my mind so much, I had lost weight and had no idea. I was 150lbs before and my family doctor who I have known for 30 years want to do anything he can to help me with my pain, so he prescribed fentanyl 50mcg.
I have someone close to me that was just just in the hospital and was put on fentanyl, only in the hospital though. I have heard how strong this is and was wondering how bad that would be for an addict, even if it was just one day? I don't know about these drugs much and was wondering how safe it is? I have read it's 80 times more stronger than morphine and that seems crazy.
