Femara withdrawal symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Femara withdrawal symptoms

femara

534810 tn?1213327718 I, too, have joint pain and swelling in hands (and sometimes feet) w/femara. I have developed a trigger finger and dequervains tendonitis in bilateral wrist w/thumb pain. Had to go off med for a month and also have sites injected w/cortisone. Never had any of this before. Oncologist said she had seen trigger finger before no dequervains tendonitis? Wondering if anyone out there has had any of these side effects? And what do you think of this? I am miserable w/all this discomfort.
Avatar n tn Just finished 5 years of Tamoxifen and 5 years of Femara. Now Im wondering what can be expected? Do side effects go away immediately? Is there such thing as withdrawal where side effects get worse before better? Who has been through it and how are you doing? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I went off all meds in Jan. Since mid Feb to mid Apr my markers went to 180. I started Femara in early Apr. After one month, marker went down to 170. About the same time I started Femara, I have constant sever pain in my right rib area and now pain in my lower right skull. Bone scan was negative. I know this is likely to be bone mets, but is it possible this could caused by Femara, since the bone scan was negative? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
772910 tn?1249563035 oh and the headaches, those really affected my daily wellbeing... the only good thing is that the symptoms litterally stop the day after you take your last dose, it did for me anyways! hang in there!
Avatar f tn But you have to be cautious as it is too early for you to be experiencing symptoms related to pregnancy. Your symptoms of breast tenderness, tiredness, nausea and headaches could all be due to premenstrual hormonal changes. I would advise you to wait till your periods to confirm your pregnancy. And good luck. Regards.
Avatar n tn The common side effects of femara would include musculoskeletal symptoms such as that of bone pains. However, you should be asking your ophthalmologist regarding what he thinks about the floaters, its probable causes and you should not be contented with the explanation of 'it's not connected with femara'. I know that floaters can be sometimes due to stress or nutritional imbalances but it is best to get his opinion for this. Regards and God bless.
1404364 tn?1289431561 Gosh, I hope that this works for you! Femara has a pretty high rate of playing a positive role in getting pregnant and produces greater results than clomid. I had cramping like my period was coming on when I was early pregnancy. It's too early to test. I did use the early testing strips but didn't get a positive until 4 days out from my period. Do you temperature check? I found that extremely effective in understanding when I ovulated and if I was pregnant or not.
1580043 tn?1333550441 Hello! Yes, cramping from both ovaries is common from Femara and Clomid (and other similar ovulatory drugs) by increasing amounts of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Under normal hormone levels a race progresses for one follicle to become the largest, but when there's extra FSH multiple follicles will become enlarged in both ovaries. This is most likely what you're feeling, as I've had similar symptoms from Clomid.
Avatar f tn t affect cervical mucous or endometrial lining so is better than clomid in that respect. I had lots of symptoms on clomid. None at all on femara. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn Had 2 months without period (may and june) after mirena removed, pregnancy tests negative (urine and blood), my doctor put me on provera 10mg for 10 days. Had withdrawal bleeding for 9 days. My question is, since I am TTC, do I have a chance to ovulate this month after provera ?
Avatar n tn I'm actually going to Moffitt cancer Center Thursday but I've been under the impression I'm "good" and no need to worry. But I've been having diarrhea for the last 8 months. I can't eat without going to the bathroom. But I'm gaining wieght. My stomach has started swellinging and I'm now having pains in my ovaries and stomach. I've been post Menopausal for 2 years so I don't know why my ovaries would hurt.
Avatar f tn A question for you Femara ladies - did you notice any changes in when you ovulated while on Femara? I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. Does Femara make you O earlier, later, about the same? Thanks for any insight!
144100 tn?1283522567 First, there are case reports of endometriosis being treated successfully by aromatase inhibitors, which is the class of drug femara is from. Second, femara results in a thicker, better looking endometrium, than clomid. On the other hand, femara is more likely to result in one egg being released, rather than multiple. I don't know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara?
Avatar n tn How beneficial is Femara after taking Tamoxifen for 5 years. Im 7 years out, stage 1. Im 5 mos. into Femara and starting to feel some unwanted side effects and wondering what to do. I would love to be "drug" free and go on. Do you feel I should continue? Any information would be great. I will be discussing it with my physician shortly. Thanx.
Avatar f tn Hello! My husband and I are now trying to get pregnant and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Since I was 13 I have been on BC and I have always had very irregular periods. After my diagnosis my OB put me back on low dose BC but I wasn't having a period so with the consent of my OB I went off BC in April. It has now been 8 months with no period, spotting, cramps, etc. I do have lower abdominal pain like an aching sensation during intercourse and not.
Avatar f tn I will be starting Femara on my next cycle. I tried Clomid for 2 cycles, but I believe that it is thining my lining and drying up CM. I've read that this does not happen with Femara. Any other differances/similarities? I know that Clomid makes you O late, but have been reading that Femara makes you O early. Is this true? Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. btw I already O on my own, I'm taking it to produce more eggs.
1235159 tn?1323009319 I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.
Avatar n tn I didnt get any response from any healthcare providers on my Tamoxifen/Femara question regarding weight gain and loss. Can anyone answer that question for me.
1160836 tn?1332330169 I have been taking Femara the last 3 month, I also take metformin and esterdiol since my lining does not get thick enough on it's own. I have not gotten pregnant yet, but femara has worked great for getting my follicels ready. I have 3-4 follicles each month. I have PCOS and DH's morphology is on the low side, so there could be many reasons why I'm not pregnant yet. Good luck!
Avatar f tn d like to discuss trying femara for this 6th cycle instead of clomid since it thinned my lining so much for this cycle. But..I want to know..can I expect the same type of results from femara as I have with clomid? On 100 mgs of clomid, I have had a mature follicle ready for trigger on Days 10 and 11. Thoughts? Thanks!
