femara

691236 tn?1311199974 I ovulate on Clomid - but did not on Femara. I will start Femara again, maybe a higher dose this time with trigger and IUI! Hoping it works this time - but that is pretty much all my RE is prescribing now, he loves it!
Avatar n tn I was on femara once a day for 3 years now..my doctor switched me to tamoxifen once a dayt. I was advised to stop my femara for 2 weeks before starting tamoxifen. Is it safe to start tamoxifen at this time?
Avatar f tn I saw another dr in the office that my sister sees-very nice and he reviewed my blood work and reviewed a little of my history. He said he has no problem prescribing me something. he said Femara was a little better than Chlomid because it's 'easier' on me, and insurance may cover it. I happen to be on day 3 of my period too, to he says to start it immed and take it until day 7. He prescribed me 5 mg, 4 months worth and yes, insurance covered it!
Avatar f tn Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn In addition to clomid, there's femara (which is similar to clomid...pills you'd take on CD 3-7 or so), and then of course there are injectables, which are much stronger than clomid and femara. Those all help the follicles grow, and that can often help with a short luteal phase, as well, because it usually leads to higher progesterone levels after O. However, you could also ask for a progesterone supplement to take after O has been confirmed to lengthen the luteal phase.
Avatar f tn I was on Femara and Necon for 3 months to treat endometriosis. 2 weeks into treatment I started getting side effects like scary muscle pains throughout my body especially in my chest and legs, unable to concentrate and focus, memory loss, joint pain ,anxiety, rage, depression... the list goes on and on. Every time I would call the prescribing dr with a side effect he would tell me it is not from the medication.
398038 tn?1247857003 I did see your other post about Femara and it had a lot of good information. You're right in that it's hard to find information, and of course there's a lot of scary stuff out there about birth defects, but after reading all of the posts on this site, it really seems to work for so many. Hopefully it will work for all of us!
Avatar f tn Why is it so difficult to get permission to get the prolia shot approved through the health system? I have been denied permission to get the shot. What can I ask for as an alternative? I am already taking femara daily with many manifested side effects. I don't need to add anymore.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would also check a prolactin level (in addition to thyroid). If all of the tests were normal, I would consider prescribing Clomid or Femara to help you ovulate more regularly. These medications can shorten the time until you conceive again in some cases. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Some doctors are not keen on prescribing clomid.it does not work for everyone.I myself drank a tea called fertilitea and swear by it.after we were told we couldnt have anymore children. and clomid didnt work for us.I started drinking this tea.have a lovely 7 month old now.and currently expecting again.somthing to look at.
Avatar m tn You should talk to your doctor, but that may be a more successful option for you considering the rounds of clomid you have already tried. You can also ask about trying a clomid alternative, such as femara. Some women find that they are more successful with IUI and femara than clomid IUI. It's also less expensive and less invasive that IVF. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Okay so I used femara this last cycle and ovulated 4 days in a row does femara or multiple days of ovulation make me increased chances for twins because im hoping there is only one baby in there
Avatar f tn I finally feel like my old self! My Doctor is highly suggesting that I take Femara. Is the percentage of reoccuring cancer that much less with this med? I really do not want to take any more medication. I do have consistent problems with necrosis in the area that was cancerous. I have had surgery to remove it (necrosis mass) 5 months ago and it has returned again. Does Femara have any thing to do with this problem?
Avatar n tn I've just begun my first cycle on Femara and ovulated on Day 4 of my cycle. Is this typical? I would normally ovulate on Day 10-12 in a 27-28 day cycle. Also, I searched for information on whether the drug could cause a false positive on an OPK but didn't find anything conclusive. Help. I'd love to hear if anyone else has had the same experience.
1277082 tn?1344057820 I have read all your guys comments on this and I overwelmed, had no idea that there was so much information. first - what is a RE and what is the differnce between a RE and a OB? Avatar f tn So I am getting ready to start Femara on my next cycle...Clomid not working. Anyway I was wondering who is on or has been on it and when and how much did you have to take? I have done alot of research on it but I am just wondering why women are on such different doses and cd to take them? Is it just up to the individual DR.? Has anyone had success with Femara?? I need a little light at the end of this long tunnel....
Avatar f tn Hello! well i just took my first femara pill today (its my first medicated cycle- will be doing trigger, iui and progesterone this cycle) Its similar to clomid in the sense that it stimulates ovulation, and from what i hear also can help increase progesterone in the LP and lengthen it simliar to clomid...
Avatar n tn Last week, I had Laparoscopy surgery for my endometriosis (which resulted in stage 1). My doctor is prescribing Letrozole, everyday for 2 months, to clean up any endometriosis that may have been missed during surgery. After the 2 months, I would take 1 Letrozole for 5 days to promote ovulation. Any suggestions? Right path? Or is the only option I have is another IVF? Thank you...
Avatar f tn Thanks for that information. I'll ask my OB about femara versus clomid. My OB mentioned clomid but honestly, I don't understand why. I get the impression that people who have irregular cycles and don't ovulate use clomid. My cycles are very normal and have been for quite sometime. I go pretty much every 28-30 days in between cycles. However, I did have a progestrone test done and my count was very low so she assumed that I might not be ovulating.
Avatar f tn Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?
749784 tn?1233499310 I am all but in remission myself from taking an aromotase inhibitor similar to Femara. I tried Femara, but it didn't agree with me, so I switched to Aromasin, which works the same way. If your mother is achieving remission from Femara, then I would ask the 3 doctors recommending chemotherapy why they recommend it. Do you know if her cancer cells are low grade or high grade? If they are high grade, then chemo is more than likely a good choice, side effects and all.
413852 tn?1317308712 t end up with our BFP, but I have seen a lot of women who have with the Femara. Here are two information packets on it. I don't have any affiliation with the infertility center that published them, but I found them through an internet search and they are really informative. Good luck to you! :) http://www.soft-infertility.com/docs/PIFemaraForInfertility.pdf http://www.soft-infertility.com/docs/PILetrosol.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar m tn Hi, You didn't provide any background information, so I'm wondering if you received chemo as part of your treatment. Recent research has show that the cognitive effects of chemo, sometimes referred to as "chemo brain," may persist even 20 years later. Some studies have indicated that Femara and Aromasin do not have much effect on cognitive functioning, esp. compared to tamoxifen. (I believe I have seen information that Femara may cause this problem less than the other AIs.
788859 tn?1236734548 My RE did an ultrasound on cd1 or cd2 prior to prescribing femara to make extra sure that I was NOT pregnant while taking it. I would recommend this to anyone considering femara as it does cause birth defects if taken when pregnant. That being said, I took it and got prego on the first round and now have a 14 month old dd to show for it (and she is *perfect* of course!!
