What cycle day are you today? And what cycle days did you take femara? As far as I know, femara does not cause a false positive...especially not two days after the last pill.

I was on femara and I would BD every other day when I was approaching our peak day according to the OPK. I also used preseed to assist as we were BD. After months of failed attempts trying the old fashioned way, and clomid, we finally got our BFP with the second cycle of femara. By the way the side effects of femara are way more tolerable than the awful side effects I would have on Clomid. Good Luck SSBD to you!

Some women respond better to clomid and others to Femara. You should talk to your doctor about checking your 21 day progesterone this cycle. Part of the importance of this is not only to ensure you are ovulating, but the progesterone will indicate if it was a strong ovulation. Higher levels of 21 progesterone can indicate a better chance of pregnancy success.

However if your periods are regular even without femara, then your chances of getting pregnant might be improved if intrauterine insemination is added to your treatment. Regarding urine ovulation prediction, if the femara is going to work to get you to ovulate, your ovulation is most likely to happen 7-10 days after your last femara.

ovulation usually occurs mid cycle if u have natural regular cycles. but if uv been on BC for so long ur body may take a some time to return back to its normal status.

5mg x2 daily today and will continue it until CD7. they sad i should start testing for ovulation starting day 10. and they told me to BD on day 10,12,14,16,18. or when i get my positive opk that day and every other day for a week. This is all new any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I have been TTC for 3 years and took Clomid for 6 months and just found out my FSH levels are a little too high (should be about 10 or less for someone my age, 29, and my FSH is about 13.5). I am just starting Femara at 5 mg on day 3-7 and am trying to get a positive ovulation test right now. I am on day 16 and although the line was darker today, it wasn't dark enough. I have read on here that sometimes it takes until day 16 or 17 so I am hoping it is positive tomorrow.

Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

I am on 1st round of Femara, too. Today is cd21 for me and opk is finally getting close to positive. This is a long wait to o for me. On Clomid, I o'd between cd9 & 12. Oh well, hopefully the wait is worth it. I may be delayed from the cyst I had from the Clomid. It finally dissolved. Good luck!

I have taken femara and am now on my 6th month. It actually pushed ovulation out for me, from day 14 to 16 or 17. I have not tried the OPK's though. I went by temperature charts and it was very apparent in my case. We are in the 14th month of ttc. I wish you the best of luck!

Question is if I started the femara a day earlier (due to confused about what is considered day 1 spotting or bleeding) and she wants me to start Ovulation kit on day 10 (which would be this coming thursday 25th) would this mess up ovulation days? Anyone can relate Thanks so much..

Hi all. This is my second month on Femara. I just found this website today. I took clear blue easy digital ovulation tests. My first month on Femara I didn't get a positive OPK. But I tried again this month. We got a positive OPK on Friday which is really early for me! CD 10 - I usually Ovulate on CD 13 or 14. It is too early for me to do a HPT. I am going to an OB and not an RE yet. Dr. said he would refer us to the RE if this doesn't work. I am very hopeful that this month worked!!

The 'ovulation pills" are clomid and femara. I way preferred femara, as it didnt have the same side effects as clomid and I am now pregnant after using it. Ask your doctor about these. Femara can make you ovulate earlier than usual (1 - 2 days earlier) Yes, they work. Both are taken for 5 days early in your cycle. I took mine from day 2 - 6. Others take them Day 3 - 7 or day 4 - 8, All depends on the doctor's protocol.

I tried it since I had vision problems with clomid. Only side effect I had was breast tenderness. I still didn't ovulate but I did grow follicles - my next treatment cycle, my RE will have me take femara plus injections, then a trigger shot to induce ovulation. I think I'm in the minority when it comes to not ovulating on clomid or femara alone though, because almost everyone else I've heard that took either at least ovulated with it. I hope it works for you!

candie429: Oh!! So Femara is the curprilt...no wonder I have been having these headaches since the last 2 days...yesterday's was intolerable...I applied Balms, seltp but it did not help. So gulped down 2 tabs and feel better today. Thanks for asking Sheri : Even though the baby is not attached, I have heard of some effects of some meds like Asprin, Aleve, ibrufen, etc on ur hormones, blood thinning/clotting, ovulation.

Just to follow up with what everyone else is saying, Femara (Letrozole) seems to be the next thing to try if you don't respond well to Clomid. I was on Clomid for 4 cycles and am now on my 2nd with Femara. I've felt a lot better on the Femara and gotten strong positive OPK's, so it seems to be working well. Everyone responds to meds differently, but this might be worth a try next time. Here's a link to a really good article I found online about it.

I tested cd 13 and cd 14 it doesn't show ovulation ,do you think I am going to have ovulation ?? I'm very worry ,I stop my bd and waite for ovulation because I want the count of sperm be high ? because always I had a regular cycle and my ovulation was cd 12-13 even when I used clomid for 2 months. is it normal and healthy if my ovulation happen cd 15 or 16 or not??? thanks for supporting me.

and i always get the pain around O time with femara and especially with femara +injectables.. not sure if its just ovulation itself or the growing ovaries or a direct result of the endo getting inflammed.. but the cycles that i have gotten pregnant i have the worst pains it seems! where i could barely walk.. and urinating etc were really painful..I can usually feel my ovary (have one left) getting bigger and twinging before O time and then all over pelvic pains after O... GOOD LUCK!

My Dr put me on Femara for the 3-7 day of AF . Was wondering if anyone has taken this drug and how long did it take to get pregnant?

t ovulate until day 16 or 17 without my trigger shot and I was on a 30 day cycle. I had a 28 day cycle prior to the meds.

a saliva test and also a basil thermomater and a ovulation chart. I also want to try and pinpoint my ovulation. Keep me posted if you find any addvice. Good luck.

The 16mm one this cycle should also have been mature by ovulation (if measured the day of trigger). Probably about 19-20mm.

I tried clomid 3 mo no ovulation now im using femara past 2 cycles last month my progestrone level was 21 on day 21 this month was 38 on day 23 just waiting to see if af comes sat

s totally fine to have intercourse on days 3-7 while on femara. Sometimes they ask you to abstain a day or two before ovulation...to help increase the sperm count for the big O...but other than that, you can have intercourse whenever you want while taking femara. Best of luck this month!

I posted on here the other day that since being off the pill, my ovulation has been infrequent and I missed another cycle in Dec-I am frustrated and my RE does not like writing scripts for this stuff unless I'm getting an IU. But I want to try naturally for a couple of cycles and see what happens. My FSH is 10 and I am in my upper 30's and I believe I need to be a little aggressive. Well, the gyn agrees.

I am going back agian tomorrw for blood work and u/d day 12. To exactly pin point the ovulation time.. can you suggest me what can be the better way?please help!
