I'm sorry to hear that you need to go to your OBGYN or an endocrinologist to check your hormone levels and find out why your not ovulating this is not normal you're supposed to have a period every month and Ovulate every month..

Thanks for the response. My Dr has prescribed Femara to basically halp with the IUI process. I always ovulate, but I think he would just like to do Femara to ensure that. One of my ovaries (left) is not very good any more after the endo, so I think that may be another reason.

Hey all just wondering if anyone tried femara (think that's what it's called) it's like clomid helps to ovulate!? What were side effects? What were results?

I have recently taken my first cycle of Femara to make me ovulate. I have PCOS and do not ovulate often. I am now on cycle day 19 and according to my BBT I have not ovulated. Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

if i take femara cd 3 - 7 i usually ovulate around cd 12 or 13. if i take it cd 5 - 9 then its usually around cd 15 or 16. good luck!

I have been on 3 rounds of clomid and was pregnant on 50mg but lost my baby at 11 weeks. I have now been on Femara once and trying the second time uping my dose to 5mg. Taking100mg right now. I've used clomid multiple times over the last five years, ovulated ONCE! Switched to femara and ovulated twice. I had clomid sitting around so that's why I'm using it right now.

yes i do have pcos, I have already taken 5 rounds of clomid with metformin and have yet to ovulate. I had ovarian drilling two weeks ago and i am suppose to start femara soon.

IT is really impossible to know where you are in your cycle unless your cycle is regular. Ask your doctor about Clomid or Femara that helps some women ovulate more consistently. Good luck!

After my HSG was normal, I had a review with my Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Femara from the 3rd day of my cycle for 5 days and has asked me to take an Ovidrel shot. They are monitoring me on Blood work and Ultrasound to make sure I ovulate and then have the Inter on time. Please help I am very anxious and I have started thinking more about this. I want to be relaxed adn just not worry about this but the moment I am free, I think of it.

I'm sorry to hear about your negative pregnancy test. Are you sure you didn't ovulate, though? Most women will ovulate when using a trigger shot. Did you have a progesterone test a week or so after trigger? That would tell you for sure whether or not you ovulated. A level of 10 or more is ideal. I don't think so. The abortion should not affect your ovulation at this point. The PCOS, however, will. Hopefully, the metformin/femara combo will work for you! Good luck!

I have regular cycles. The doctor put me on metformin and femara (spell check) which I did ovulate on so thry say from my progesterone levels..but still not pregnant. Does any one knows what I could do to help me become pregro?

Not to sound discouraging but clomid never worked for me. I took the highest dosage allowed by the FDA and still did not ovulate. Now, for a positive note, I am taking Femara. A lot of people don't like this idea; however, it has been proven that the femara is out of your system long before you conceive and there is no risk of birth defects. Keep Femara in mind if Clomid doesn't work for you.

i had my first bay with the help of provera n femara the first time i used it,i did ovulate,i dnt knw why he change it to clomid.

I had no side effects from femara, whereas with clomid the side effects were terrible (moody, hot flashes, sore boobs, etc) femara was wonderful compared to clomid! my first cycle on femara I did not ovulate, but on my second round of femara i used hcg injection and got pregnant that way. good luck!!

I used to do that. Although on femara, I would usually ovulate a couple of days later, around CD14 or so. Best of luck this month!

I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. I took femara after trying clomid unsuccessfully. I conceived on my second cycle of femara. I also had to have a trigger shot since I wasn't ovulating on my own (so you may want to look into that). I also had IUI. Good luck to you!
