Femara or clomid

Common Questions and Answers about Femara or clomid

femara

320424 tn?1205500555 I have tried both Clomid and Femara, I would take Femara over Clomid ANY day!!! Clomid gave me a MONSTER headache for almost 4 weeks, YES 4 weeks!! Femara, LOVED IT!!! Had no side effects and its better on the uterine lining (doesn't thin it out like Clomid), and doesn't create hostile CM like Clomid! Good Luck!
691236 tn?1311199974 Has anyone tried this drug and what were the differences from clomid? I believe this is the same as femara? Any advice/knowledge you have would be great. Thanks!
495138 tn?1221217880 So my question is which is better Clomid or Femara??? Should I discuss with her which one is best for me or should I just go with the clomid?? I live in Canada so i dont even know if they have Femara here?? Just looking for peoples opinions.
Avatar f tn I've been on Femara and had great success with it! I had stopped ovulating for some reason, after my second month I got pregnant! I haven't tried clomid but my doctor said he would always reccommend Femara over clomid....I had a bit of a headache on the days that I took the pills (days 3-7 of my cycle) but it didn't bother me. It also doesn't dry up your cervical mucous which I heard can happen with clomid. I had TONNES of EWCM on Femara.
1434731 tn?1382722384 I tried clomid 3 mo no ovulation now im using femara past 2 cycles last month my progestrone level was 21 on day 21 this month was 38 on day 23 just waiting to see if af comes sat
Avatar f tn ve Only Tried One cycle Of Clomid And Did Ovulate With It Before My Dr Switched Me To Femara. Provera Induced Period, Cd 2, Start Femara 2.5Mg Tomorrow. Anyone Ever Have Success With Femara With No Pcos Or Iui?
Avatar f tn Please Help me i am about to try ICSI or IVF but my dr told me i can try femara for another 3 months before ICSI because i have a very slim chance of getting pregnant with femara r clomid before moving to IVF but my problem is i have a chocolate cyst measuring 6cm on my right ovary {i already had lap to remove 2 cysts 5 months ago but one of them grew back and i also have one blocked tube} My question is does anyone got pregnant with chocolate cyst and a blocked tube on femara or clomid or i hav
Avatar f tn By the way it sounds, last month was your first month on the Femara? And you had an u/s late that showed you did in fact O? If you are definitely O'ing on the Femara, then I think it would perfectly fine to monitor yourself with the OPK's to help time your intercourse. Also, if you are definitely O'ing, then there wouldn't be any reason to have the trigger shot.
873190 tn?1304812975 Hi girls. Happy New Year! I was wondering if anyone had any input on using Clomid or Femara versus getting preg naturally. I am 39 y/o, ttc my first child, 4 m/c in two years. The first two pregnancies were natural and lost around 6 and 5 weeks. Then I started going to my RE. He put me on 2mg extra folic acid, 50mg levothyroxin for a slight thryoid issue, and baby asiprin plus progesterone suppositories. First round, pregnancy m/c around 4 1/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???
Avatar f tn I didn't even know about Femara until after I had already taken Clomid, so I didn't do any research on it. But from what I understand, Femara has fewer side effects compared to Clomid and it seems to work better for women with PCOS.
Avatar f tn I had no side effects from femara, whereas with clomid the side effects were terrible (moody, hot flashes, sore boobs, etc) femara was wonderful compared to clomid! my first cycle on femara I did not ovulate, but on my second round of femara i used hcg injection and got pregnant that way. good luck!!
Avatar f tn hi all ladies taking femera,i heard about it here&heard of good results with many so iam just wondering what is it?is it tab. or inj.is it like clomid or what&what is its active conistituent? iwas taking clomid but failed with me &now taking puregon inj.&want to know whether femera is better of what?
Avatar f tn Hello! yes as rjoshua said it doesn't thin the lining like clomid can.. also if your not doing IUI's it is "typically" better with cervical mucus than clomid.. doesnt' dry it out... some people respod better to clomid, some to femara, it really is different person to person of course! We have a femara ladies post somewhere on here! we've had a good number of BFP's on there! we did get preg with femara +follistim but unfortuantely miscarried later on...
318181 tn?1336443496 For those of you who have tried Femara, what were your experiences? Did it delay O, like clomid can? Any side effects? How well did it work for you?
1235159 tn?1323009319 I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.
Avatar f tn I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi there-I was on clomid 2 months with IUI and trigger-only had 2 follicles both times. I was on Femara this month, trigger and IUI and I had 6 follicles. I also took it on 4-8. So, for me, femara worked much better. I didn't do Menopur. I am in my 2ww and will find out on Tuesday. I wish you all the best!
Avatar f tn It all depends I took femara one cycle with injectable (ovidrel) & an iui & worked on the first try. I'm 5 weeks & 3 days today. Clomid works but not for everyone clomid often thickens the cervical mucus which makes it hard for the sperm to swim to contect to the egg. I was taking tussin as well my last cycle of clomid but it didn't work. I had 6 cycles of clomid three solo & three with iui's. I wish you the best of luck.
Avatar f tn I got pregnant my 2nd month taking Femara, unfortunatley that pregnancy was a blighted ovim. I started the Femara up again and just finished my 3rd month. I take 2.5 mg on days 3-7. Good luck! It really does work!
257175 tn?1204161973 I took femara after trying clomid unsuccessfully. I conceived on my second cycle of femara. I also had to have a trigger shot since I wasn't ovulating on my own (so you may want to look into that). I also had IUI. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn So I am getting ready to start Femara on my next cycle...Clomid not working. Anyway I was wondering who is on or has been on it and when and how much did you have to take? I have done alot of research on it but I am just wondering why women are on such different doses and cd to take them? Is it just up to the individual DR.? Has anyone had success with Femara?? I need a little light at the end of this long tunnel....
992128 tn?1364371742 I tried it since I had vision problems with clomid. Only side effect I had was breast tenderness. I still didn't ovulate but I did grow follicles - my next treatment cycle, my RE will have me take femara plus injections, then a trigger shot to induce ovulation. I think I'm in the minority when it comes to not ovulating on clomid or femara alone though, because almost everyone else I've heard that took either at least ovulated with it. I hope it works for you!
Avatar n tn I just got pregnant on Femara - it wasn't my first time though. I also had IUI. Good luck! I recommend it much more than clomid - clomid is the devil!
586512 tn?1218512079 t have hot flashes, but my progesterone level went down slightly when tested on CD 19, compared to when I was on clomid. On clomid my progesterone was about 18 for 3 cycles, on femara my progesterone was 15. I'm thinking that if you're going to have IUIs, it might not make a difference which one you take. But if you're going to try it the old-fashioned way, maybe femara would be better.
1299014 tn?1273247877 ll get ovarian stimulation like clomid or femara or may be injections starting from CD2 for five days, then when u have mature eggs the doc will inject u with semen fluid through the vagina . It is not painful at all and the pregnancy occurs naturally I guess. The only advantage is that you develop many eggs and they get the semen fluid so close to the tubes. I'm now on folic acid, aspirin, progestrone pills, calcium and magnesium supplies plus the blood thinner.
