femara

Avatar f tn HI, Induction of ovulation with the help of drugs like femara, is associated with the risk of multiple births and twin pregnancy. Once you conceive an ultrasound scan can be done to see whether it is a singleton or twin pregnancy. Consult your Doctor. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn m taking a break this month and will start my follistim + timed intercourse cycle in May. RE wants to put me on a very low dose b/c i have pcos i am at high risk for multiple births and if i produce more then 4 mature follicles she will want to cancel the cycle due to my young age (26) and triplets or more. I almost want to just say screw it and BD anyway if she cancels my cycle since im paying out of pocket why not go all the way to the end.. if i conceive and its multiple births then so be it.
Avatar n tn If your ovulation is normal why is the doctor recommending Clomid? Usually it is recommended for ovulation problems. It can lower estrogen level, reduce your CM, thin your endometrial lining and cause your ovulation time to shift in your cycle. It also increases the risk of multiple births. My doctor wants me to start it if I don't ovulate on my own this month, but I have amenorrhea due to anovulation, so it is probably required for me to conceive.
443102 tn?1222125946 Has anyone here had multiple births with follistim, I have 2 mature eggs and 5 small ones and I am really afraid of multiple birth due to high risk, does any one know what are the chances would be for me to have multiple births
1580043 tn?1333550441 Hello! Yes, cramping from both ovaries is common from Femara and Clomid (and other similar ovulatory drugs) by increasing amounts of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Under normal hormone levels a race progresses for one follicle to become the largest, but when there's extra FSH multiple follicles will become enlarged in both ovaries. This is most likely what you're feeling, as I've had similar symptoms from Clomid.
144100 tn?1283522567 First, there are case reports of endometriosis being treated successfully by aromatase inhibitors, which is the class of drug femara is from. Second, femara results in a thicker, better looking endometrium, than clomid. On the other hand, femara is more likely to result in one egg being released, rather than multiple. I don't know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara?
Avatar f tn Both caused me to O later than I typically did on my own, usually around cd15 or so. Like you, I had multiple follies with Clomid, but with the Femara I only had one. I remember reading that this is totally normal - Clomid usually creates multiple ones, but with Femara (especially the lower doses), you usually just get one good quality egg. Like bny said, it will grow pretty much these next few days, so it looks like you are right on track.
4689203 tn?1389202204 If you want to try something natural, Vitex Fruit does help women ovulate who are having difficulty ovulating. Women with PCOS, who don't ovulate consistantly have taken this with success in attaining pregnancy. I have a close friend who wasn't ovulating due to PCOS, took Vitex for 2-3 months and was pregnant. My husband and I also tried Vitex after almost 3 years of infertility and it worked for us. Vitex works by genlty balancing your progesterone levels.
Avatar f tn Hello.. i have not taken clomid.. however i have taken femara and injectables multiple times (and its worked 3 times!) i have severe endo as well.. and i always get the pain around O time with femara and especially with femara +injectables.. not sure if its just ovulation itself or the growing ovaries or a direct result of the endo getting inflammed.. but the cycles that i have gotten pregnant i have the worst pains it seems! where i could barely walk.. and urinating etc were really painful..
Avatar f tn So I am getting ready to start Femara on my next cycle...Clomid not working. Anyway I was wondering who is on or has been on it and when and how much did you have to take? I have done alot of research on it but I am just wondering why women are on such different doses and cd to take them? Is it just up to the individual DR.? Has anyone had success with Femara?? I need a little light at the end of this long tunnel....
320424 tn?1205500555 and got pregnant on that (+ follistim) and IUI , it was our third round of femara.. like everyone said, the nice thing about femara is the side effects are few and tolerable, it doens't thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!
708150 tn?1268273933 It happend to be day one of AF. My doctor wants to do IUI this cycle with femara. I go back on Jan 12 for U/S. My question is would you get your trigger shot on the day of the u/s if there are good follies or is it common to have multiple U/S's if the follies aren't ready? And then when do you go back for the procedure? I have read a lot of people go back within 36 hours. We live over an hour from the RE. Has anyone been in this situation?
362249 tn?1441315018 IUI can result in multiple births but they usually only implant 2-3 embryos.
495138 tn?1221217880 So my question is which is better Clomid or Femara??? Should I discuss with her which one is best for me or should I just go with the clomid?? I live in Canada so i dont even know if they have Femara here?? Just looking for peoples opinions.
Avatar f tn Other factors that can increase your chances of having twins include having a maternal family history of multiple births (fraternal), and of course, using fertility treatments (in vitro fertilization or fertility drugs).
534810 tn?1213327718 I, too, have joint pain and swelling in hands (and sometimes feet) w/femara. I have developed a trigger finger and dequervains tendonitis in bilateral wrist w/thumb pain. Had to go off med for a month and also have sites injected w/cortisone. Never had any of this before. Oncologist said she had seen trigger finger before no dequervains tendonitis? Wondering if anyone out there has had any of these side effects? And what do you think of this? I am miserable w/all this discomfort.
5143114 tn?1364237535 In December, my gyno put me on Metformin 750mg 2 times a day. Then in January added 5mg Femara (days 3-7), also did that in Feb. Then this past month (March) she uped me to 7mg of femara (and still taking Metformin, too). My 21 day Progestrone levels for December was 2.87, January was 1.76, Feb was 7.87, and this last one was 9.82 She also did tested 4 other harmones on day 3 of my cycle, everything was normal, except the TSH which was .282, which she said was a little underactive.
1021522 tn?1257104376 i was wondering what is the level of beta that determines if your having twins or multiple births, i just had my blood work done again and my beta hcf levels are 13799.
584315 tn?1218319858 That is a leading cause in early miscarriage! I had several MC and early births and no dr ever checked mine till now. Mine was 6.14 on 9 days past O. That is very low! http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html#female here is a web page that tells the levels and days to check. If it is not your husbands sperm, and not the age of your eggs then it would have to be your progesterone! What ages are you MC?
404837 tn?1290609027 t already have a dominant follicle so more of them will mature. The problem with this is, the risks of multiple births. The health risks to the babies and mother are much higher than singleton pg.
Avatar n tn I know if you have 1 c section you have to have c sections with all your births. But idk I could be wrong. I know a few girls who have multiple kids and have had c sections with every birth.
Avatar f tn some people have told me they've tried water births multiple times but never actually had the baby come out in the water lol
Avatar f tn You can talk to an obgyn about getting it, and it causes an increase chance of multiples, but plenty of women just go on to have 1.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them cause i am freaking out about the possiblity of it being a blighted ovum pregnancy. Also, when with multiple births can a heartbeat be detected and do they develop smaller than a single birth child?
