Femara luteal phase

Common Questions and Answers about Femara luteal phase

femara

Avatar f tn I am aware of IUI, IVF and Clomid. Are there any other options a doctor can "prescribe" to help with fertility? I have been ovulating late into my cycle and have a short luteal phase. Living in a rural community, we don't have a ton of options but if I do go speak to an ob/gyn...what should I expect? Thanks!
384150 tn?1399904816 Her perspective was that as it helps increase progesterone, and lengthen the luteal phase, then it is a positive. Now keep in mind, she is an OB, not an RE. I am going to ask her more about it at my next appointment, as that has me curious. I knew about the thinning of the lining, but want to clarify the "older women" issue. I don't know if a longer period is a good thing in terms of the lining, but it would make sense to me if that was the case. Good luck on next O!!!!
Avatar f tn I have done hcg shot twice now - once luteal phase was 16 days, the next time 15. RE said that # of follicles can affect luteal phase - having multiple follicles can lengthen luteal phase bc it increases progesterone level. Once the hcg shot is out of your system you could get a "false neg" if the pregnancy hcg level is not high enough for the test to detect yet. Some brands of tests are more sensitive than others. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Recently my doctor tested my progesterone level and it came out as .09 at mid luteal phase on day 21. I have not been ovulating for two months before. I have an appointment with OBGYN next month. I am considering hormore therapy. It will be great to hear from any of you who have been through such similar situation and have been able to conceive. Please advice.. Thanks, D.
Avatar f tn I am in my second cycle on clomid 100mg from day 2-6. Pre clomid, my cycle was always about 35 days and I'd O on day 21. In my first clomid cycle, I O'd on day 15 and had a 17 day luteal phase. This cycle I O'd on day 14. Waiting to see how long the luteal phase will be.
374593 tn?1257879950 For fertility, there is some evidence that it improves the luteal phase: www.bastyrcenter.org/content/view/620/ : "A moderate amount of supplemental vitamin C improves hormone levels and increases fertility in women with luteal phase defect, according to a new study published in Fertility and Sterility (2003;80:459–61)." The dose was 750mg. I suggest not taking above 1000mg. For pregancy: according to the Cochrane review: www.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab004072.
Avatar f tn I am 41 yr old female with a fsh between 6 and 7, amh .4 and with a luteal phase defect (I bleed like a period right after ovulation). I have done natural cycle iuis with estrogen for the first 4 cycles, and estrogen and progesterone supplementation for the 5th and 6th cycles. The first 5 cycles, the estrogen did not work well, and at some point I would start to bleed in the luteal phase.
Avatar f tn I ovulate on my own but was put on Clomid for Luteal Phase Defect which is the spotting after ovulation so short luteal phase. I was on 100mg of clomid and i had no side effects at all and it actually helped with my Luteal Phase i never spotted while on it so that is why it's so frustrating b/c i would like to try it again. If you aren't ovulating i would give it a try there is also Femara that helps with ovulation.
398038 tn?1247857003 When we first started TTC, I always had a good BBT chart, but sometimes I wouldn't get positive OPK's. Since all of our tests came back normal, my OBGYN eventually put me on Clomid for 4 cycles and then Femara for another 4. I got very strong positive OPK's every time and had an ultrasound done twice that showed good follies. The only sticking point with my doctor was the 7dpo Progesterone test.
Avatar n tn I also ovulate on my own, but was prescribed clomid. I have a luteal phase defect and supposedly this will correct it.
Avatar f tn Luteal phase is the time in between when you ovulate and when your next period starts. Everyone's luteal phase is different, but they typically last from 10 to 16 days with the average being 14 days. Like the other post said, the best way to figure yours out is to start BBT (basal body temperature) charting. Are you familiar with this? You use a BBT thermometer and take your temp every day before getting out of bed. Once you do it for a cycle or two, you should notice a pattern.
1676653 tn?1391039945 What is the luteal phase? I have been hearing different things and I am confused? What is it and how do you determine it?
586375 tn?1224897537 can anyone please explain to me what Luteal Phase means and how i figure out what mine is PLEASE
950472 tn?1246074550 I went ot the doc and had blood work done and he told me when they took the blood it showed I was going through my luteal phase...and that I should have started either that day or at least two days following. That was three weeks ago.now my main question is since I was in my luteal phase does that mean i FOR SURE ovulated?
972246 tn?1311088535 Your luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your next period. Typically women have a 14 day luteal phase, but not always. Since you have 28-30 day cycles, if you know when you ovulate then you can figure out how long it is. I ovulate on CD 15/16 and start my period on the 15th day after ovulation which gives me a LP of 14 days, since the 15th day after AF comes putting me back at CD1. I hope I explained it well, if not ask away and I'll try to answer.
283175 tn?1295537265 a luteal phase is somthing from ovulation until your period.a certain amount of time is needed in order to achieve pregnancy.for anyone in this position, google luteal phase defect,it explains its not possible to concieve if you have a short luteal phase.same as women assuming pregnancy can occur during there period, this is not true.a woman can concieve during ovulation, typically 2 weeks give or take day or 2.
Avatar f tn How do you count to determine your luteal phase? Do you start the day after ovulation and count until the day OF your period? Or from the day after ovulation to the day before your period (I read this somewhere)? I think my phase is short but my dr is dismissing my concerns. It would explain a lot... Thanks!
350946 tn?1287623615 SO, I am a little confused about something. To my understanding your O day can vary but typically your luteal phase will be the same hense the outcome of different cycle lengths. However, last several months my cycle has been about 33 days long and it was usually about 31days but when I started clomid it was 33 days. So I started doing bbt and tracking my cycle and last cycle on clomid was 33 days O'd on CD 16 and Luteal Phase was 17 days. So my dr.
