Hello, Femara (letrozole tablets) is approved for the adjuvant (following surgery) treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor–positive early stage breast cancer. Femara is also approved for the extended adjuvant treatment of early stage breast cancer in postmenopausal women who are within three months of completion of five years of tamoxifen therapy. In the adjuvant setting, commonly reported side effects are generally mild to moderate.

m a big fan ( i never took clomid, since i have endo, they wanted me straight to femara(letrozole)) it doens't thin your lining like clomid and doesn't strip away cervical mucus like clomid can for some people.. we did femara two cycle, then femara and follistim the last one (all with IUI's - we have a TON of issues!!) and we did get preg! : ) miscarried at 9 weeks, but it did work which is huge!!! I've been on Femara (Letrozole) for about a year and a half. It didn't do anything for me...I never even had a period without forcing it. I recently had ovarian drilling and I know it has made a difference. After the drilling, the femara is supposed to be more effective so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

ve personally never taken clomid, but they say that people have fewer hot flashes while on femara too.... we took femara 2.5mg once a day for two cycles, then upped it to 5mg once a day in combination with follistim and IUI's and got our BFP.. unfortunately miscarried but i will be starting that combo again tonight! hi there! I am also starting Letrozole (also known as Femara) next cycle onwards...had two failed Clomid cycles..so the Dr now wants to try Letrozole.. till now I have only heard good things about it..so hoping this does the trick..

I did letrozole(femara) with injectibles and timed intercourse. It worked first try and my baby is now a little over 10 months. I didn't have any side effects from it(except pregnancy lol).

Has anyone ever used Letrozole? Was it beneficial? Did you get a BFP? Any side effects?

Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

Letrozole is the generic name for Femara. You'll see it referred to as that on here, too. I am on my 2nd round and waiting to see if it worked this cycle. Compared to Clomid, the s/e are nil. Clomid was much worse. So far I've not noticed anything different with Femara. Good luck!

He tried me on one more round of clomid 150mg to no avail. I had an HSG done and all tubes were clear. I was then put on letrozole (femara) days 3-7. Went in on day 14 for an u/s and had a follicle measuring 17.5mm. Did OPK for a few days and got my +. Went in the following day and had IUI. I am now 12.5 weeks pg with TWINS! It can and it does work!!!

I did 2 rounds of Clomid and this cycle I switched over to Femara (exact same thing as letrozole). I didn't have the mood swings this cycle. Also it doesn't have the side effects that Clomid does of drying up CM and thining your lining. So far I am just as pleased with it as Clomid. I'm 10DPO, so we'll be finding out soon enough if it did the trick.

Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.

did not want to put me on clomid so instead I was on Ferma/Letrozole plus FSH injections. Maybe ask your DR. about going on this instead. I have had no side effects so far from the drugs, and the lining and follicles were all great, so I was told. I am now just on the 2ww now hoping this could be the month. I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. By Day 5 I'm ready to quit letrozole because it makes my bones a bit achy, my breasts are super tender and less firm, and overall I feel like I constantly have a buzz that you get with one glass of wine.

I came over an online drugstore that offered to sell Letrozole with brandname Letroz / Letoval Tablets . I thought its exclusively sold by Novartis. Sun Pharma is selling it for only $114.40, which is cheaper than the brand novartis is selling(femara). There are other drugs they are selling like pamidronate which is also cheaper than regular pamidronates in the market. Hi i started femara 2.5 mg on june 18 (days 3-7) and my cycles normally come every 24 days. I am now 3 days passed due. I have taken a pregnancy test which was negative. Any suggestions ?
