Femara headaches

Common Questions and Answers about Femara headaches

femara

Avatar f tn I haven't experienced headaches while taking shots, but I agree about the hot flashes! Have you experienced weight gain with the shots? I gain about 3-5 lbs with each round of shots. Luckily it has already started to drop from being off of it for two months. Do you get cycts on your ovaries when you go back after you start your cycle?
216278 tn?1308861082 I just took my first round of femara and I kept getting headaches on and off all day all week... So I think those are from femara. Not sure about the tummyaches though, you may want to call your RE's office...
Avatar f tn m just finishing my period now and will start up with the Femara again next month. I had a few headaches but also got lots of EWCM. How long have you been on it?
Avatar f tn At that time, I remember reading somewhere that headaches are the only symptom that are typically worse with Femara vs. Clomid. Hopefully it works for you both soon and you don't have to endure the migranes anymore! Best of luck.
405855 tn?1217100767 As far as I know, Tylenol is safe while TTC. I have even heard of doctors saying it's OK while pregnant. I feel your pain in that I get pretty bad headaches with the Femara too. I've read that this is one symptom that is definitely stronger with Femara than Clomid. We'll see if anyone else has some input on this. Hope you feel better!
Avatar f tn With the Femara 5mg(CD3-7) and Progesterone (CD16-25) medication, I seem to have put on weight and become quiet moody. Have headaches in the evening usually on CD17 and CD18 and a bloated feeling most of teh days , have observed this in the last few cycles. Is this common with Femara or Progesterone. A bit worried bcos, I also have PCOS and with the weight increase it might hamper my chances of conception. Any advise what could be the reasonand I need to do ?
Avatar f tn But you have to be cautious as it is too early for you to be experiencing symptoms related to pregnancy. Your symptoms of breast tenderness, tiredness, nausea and headaches could all be due to premenstrual hormonal changes. I would advise you to wait till your periods to confirm your pregnancy. And good luck. Regards.
Avatar f tn Im also on femara cycle.I don't ovulate on my own .clomid didn't work on me. I have been using femara for 6 cycles. Its working very well. Im ovulating every month and im getting periods on my own.I had iui this month, waiting for results. I wish u good luck.
1108951 tn?1258618690 ive posted a question earlier but was wondering if i can get any advice about femara?how should it be taken?when and whats the right dose?what are the side affects?pros and cons?i was put on this to induce ovulation.its a estrogen lowering med.about all i understood.i have p.c.o.s.was told this would work and was better than clomid.i just cant seem to ovulate and my insulin is very high so i take glucaphage 2000mg daily to help wih that.
725941 tn?1297882209 yes i hear it can be. my friend was prego and had headaches all thetime. she was even dizzy at time. best of luck to you, SSBD! hope you get your BFP!
Avatar f tn I will be starting Femara on my next cycle. I tried Clomid for 2 cycles, but I believe that it is thining my lining and drying up CM. I've read that this does not happen with Femara. Any other differances/similarities? I know that Clomid makes you O late, but have been reading that Femara makes you O early. Is this true? Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. btw I already O on my own, I'm taking it to produce more eggs.
Avatar f tn I have taken both Clomid and Femara and have to say that I liked the Femara much better. Not as many side effects (except headaches) and I just overall felt better. It definitely helped me produce a nice follie and definitely O every time. If you are not responding to the Clomid, then Femara could very well be the solution for you!
725941 tn?1297882209 Can you ladies please help me out on this one......My RE recently gave me Femara to take since I had stopped ovulating. I have been advised to take it from days 3-7 of my cycle. I am on my third pill today and am wondering approx when I should ovulate so I know when my hubby and I should BD. Thanks again for the help!
320424 tn?1205500555 t have that with the Femara. The only thing with the Femara was that I got horrible headaches mid-way through my cycles and I did read somewhere that is the one side effect that is usually worse with Femara. As far as it's effectiveness, I think Clomid is more prone to giving you multiple follicles/eggs, that is why there is the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation. Obviously though, everyone's body responds differently. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn i am now on femara. i was wondering if you are going on it. im on femara for about 2 1/2 months and not that happy on it. i was wondering if your dr. prescribed it for you and if not why.
Avatar f tn well i recieved my negative beta today and they want me to do a cycle of letrozole or femara which is an oral pill simliar to clomid.. my question is has anyone ever tried this med before, any side effects and any success..
772910 tn?1249563035 t work too well for me. I am undergoing IUI and only had 1 egg each cycle. my RE swiched my to femara and I had 5 one cyle and 3 the last cycle. My lining is very thin and I guess clomid natrually thins the endometrial lining, which I didnt know. Besides that, I had 0 side effects with femara-no hot flashes, no headaches and no emotional outbusts which my DH was thankful for. :) Hope this helps and good luck to you!!
772910 tn?1249563035 I just started chlomid yesterday, and it is awful. How can I have headaches, nausea and diarrhea after 2 doses??? Now I know why it causes irritability. Who can deal with a 2 year old when you feel pregnant but YOU KNOW YOU'RE NOT?
Avatar f tn I couldn't handle taking Femara...gave me awful headaches. You asked about ovulating late. Did you mean in reference to the timming of your cycle? I don't even get a + OPK until CD15, but have gotten one on CD12. I guess I'm asking because I don't ov until later in my cycle. I'm using EPO & Vitex to balance my cycle out, but I cycle anywhere from 26-28 days, sometimes 23-25. Sorry no insight...just adding more questions.
Avatar f tn The past 2 cycles I have been on Femara and been much happier. No headaches or crazy O pains. PLUS my lining did not thin out on Femara. I responded with one mature follicle on each ovary on both 100mg of Clomid and 2.5mg of Femara. (I think that was my dose) Unfortunately, I havent had any luck on either of them, but that doesnt mean that you wont have better luck than me! I would definitely ask the Dr. The worst he/she can say is no.
328927 tn?1227761840 I have mild PCOS and responded to Clomid with 1 follicle for two cycles (one bd, another iui). I skipped a month w/meds and O'd on my own. I just started Femara cd3-7 and Follistim 75 cd5-9, and haven't been able to find out any real live stories of BFP with this protocol, how many tries it took and number and size of follies normally seen. I was also wondering how many follicles is to few, and how many are too many where the RE could cancel a cycle in fear of OHSS?

413852 tn?1317308712 Your OBGYN is right. Mine also had me use Femara for 4 cycles to try to increase our chances since I am in the dreaded "unexplained" category. It worked great for me, I O'd consistently, and had minimal side effects (just headaches and hot flashes here and there). We didn't end up with our BFP, but I have seen a lot of women who have with the Femara. Here are two information packets on it.
629668 tn?1222914854 I've taken Femara for about five months. I took Femara on CD3-CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 for three months in a row. Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and IUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.
548733 tn?1216106796 we did combine it with femara as well.. did the injections every other day... and femara daily for 5 days.. the shots are painless, and very easy to use! we used the company IVPcare and the cost seemed to be way better than a lot of places, i cant' remember if it was $200 something or $300 something.. but i know it can run up to 800 or so.. they have some plan if your insurance doesn't cover injectables that makes them more affordable.. Have you tried IUI??
Avatar f tn I used clomid and it took 3 months but it ended in a miscarriage. Then I took femara which is equivalent to clomid that was out of stock and got pregnante the first cycle. Usually 3 to 6 months is the time it takes but some dr want you to try for a year before investigating other treatment. Also doing your temperature curve help to know if clomid is efficient. I was on 100 mg if I remember correctly. With femara dosage is lower.
Avatar n tn i did two clomid cycles and then my dr. switched me to femara (much better) clomid can dry up your CM, but with femara i got lots of CM. I am supposed to be on a break, seeing my RE 5-6, but I had leftover clomid and went ahead with this month on my own. i did get the bad headache. we'll see what happens!
