femara for infertility 2010

I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! Thanks.

Has anyone had any luck with taking femara for unexplained infertility? I'm 29 and have been off the pill since March 2009, actively TTC since November 2009. DH's counts are normal, my tubes are open, I ovulate on my own and my uterine lining is good. RE is having me start femara this cycle (days 3-7). Has anyone had luck with taking femara (without IUI) for unexplained infertility?

I took Femara and got pregnant when also doing injections. I had unexplained infertility. It appeared my eggs were not maturing on their own and I kept getting cysts. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. My treatment was femara, injection for 3 days, HCG shot and IUI. Your doctor will find a treatment that will work for you. Keep your hopes up. I remember choosing to not be stressed out about whether I was going to get a positive or not and it worked for me. Good Luck!!!

t find any studies that say it increases conception rates, rather it may just make you asymptomatic during the treatment time. Do you ever use Femara for fertility purposis in Endometriosis patients - even though its blacklabel for this, it seems that it would make good sense? Thanks!

Hi been ttc for 18 month with no luck every ovulation test i have done in 3 months have been negative i am getting tested for endometriosis

We have been ttc for over 2yrs and have unexplained infertility. All of our blood work and tests and u/s are perfect. Our sperm is perfect and eggs and uterus look great. I was just looking for others that are going thru the same thing so we could support each other!!

Then I got on Metformin in May 2010. I have lost 50+ lbs, with Metformin. In Aug. I was given Femara, and havent had AF since then. I have taken 2 HPT and both have some back negitive. Yesterday 11/30, I took my Provera so we can jumpstart my AF, and hopfully take either Clomid or Femara. With Clomid 150mg I didn't have any side effects and With 100mg of Clomid, I was a total wrack! Femara 7mg, I was fine.

Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?

Treatment of endometriosis will depend on its severity. Consult an infertility expert. Do not get disheartened as treatment for infertility may take a few years to give results. Hope this helps.

I have unexplained infertility, all tests point to healthy eggs, ovaries, and I ovulate. Are you seeing an RE? I went to a gyno for 11 months and he had me on Femara. I went to an RE and was pregnant within 3 months, he increased my doesage and ordered a trigger with timed BD. Have you had an HSG?

Laproscopy can treat endometriosis temporarily for a year or 2, helping you to conceive. Femara also lately is being used to cure endometriosis. And yes, endometriosis is a cause of infertility, however it is not that bad...atleast it is cureable and not unexplained.

Yes you can. I'm 23yr dx when I was 17 and am now finally pregnant with our first. Its more difficult and may require a mix and match of medication to see what works for you but no matter how long your ttc journey something will work for you. For me it was 5 rounds of clomid with a combo to metformin for the last 2 rounds. If you're like me and irregular and the clomid starts giving you regular AF take that as a huge step in the right direction.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. My last session of chemo was in july 2010. Radiation ended in sept 2010. I have been taking Tab Femara plus tab bone one and zomata (inj) from october-2010. Now I started to have in left knee joint pain. I have spoken to my doctor who advises, it could be post chemo/medication caused and may go away with a passage of time. Now i am going to undertake Bone Scan on advise of doctor. This Bone Scan was earlier done which was okeyed by doctor.. What do you suggest I do,. Your advise?

girls i wanted to ask you something.I'm about to start my second ivf cycle.This time it will be the short cycle cause with the regulaer one we had no luck.During the first time my hair thinned out a lot, specially on the crown area.And i'm afraid it will happen again.My re said that maybe no and that the reason for it is stress but i don't think so cause i started losing hair when i started the injections.

Hey everyone me and my bf are trying to have a baby we succeded in april 2010 but lost it then in sept 2010 i had gottin gonorrea and had it for tops 5 monthd then last year i got chlamydia and had it for almost a year is it a possibility that im infertile . . .

I completely understand. We TTC for over 36 months before we finally got referred to do an IUI with Femara. Initially they told us that there were no issues that they could see (based on a couple blood tests, a sperm analysis, and normal annual exams for me). I finally demanded to be referred to a specialist (RE) and we DID have issues (both of us) preventing us from getting PG.

I tried to ask for Femara, but my RE wouldn't give it to me since it is not FDA approved for fertility and is sanctioned as a breast cancer drug. I wish they would've though!

The Thyroid was very very slightly off. They wanted me to go in for a redo test but considering it costs more money for such things, I didn't go.
