m=2 Additional side effects for both Femara and tamoxifen are heart attack, thromboembolic events, endometrial cancer and second malignancies. bOTH THE DRUGS CAN CAUSE GAIN IN WEIGHT.

Has anyone taken femara w/o IUI and had any luck? Any advice? What kind of side effects should i expect with femara?

Just a thought -- Femara has a better track record where cervical mucous and endometrial thickness are concerned. Hope you are already pregnant and don't need this info! Good luck!

This will be my 2nd iui and this will be my third cycle on femara. I cycle on femara with iui, one cycle just femara and this cycle on femara with hopefully iui around the 30th, 1st or 2nd(weekend). We have been ttc for over 2yrs and have unexplained infertility. All of our blood work and tests and u/s are perfect. Our sperm is perfect and eggs and uterus look great. I was just looking for others that are going thru the same thing so we could support each other!!

Recently had transvaginal ultrasound, came back with endometrial fluid, just had endometrial biopsy and DNC. Dr told me fluid in cavity was not a good thing to have and is a sign of uterine cancer. Well you can believe I am scared and need to wait 10 days for results. Can the fluid be cause by anything else besides cancer?

and got pregnant on that (+ follistim) and IUI , it was our third round of femara.. like everyone said, the nice thing about femara is the side effects are few and tolerable, it doens't thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!

I had a double masectomy 1-1/2 years ago and have finished chemo treatments in April of 08 and now I am on Femara for about a year. My question is can I get a recurrence of cancer of some sort (i know it won't be breast) while I'm actually still using Femara?

My lining is very thin and I guess clomid natrually thins the endometrial lining, which I didnt know. Besides that, I had 0 side effects with femara-no hot flashes, no headaches and no emotional outbusts which my DH was thankful for. :) Hope this helps and good luck to you!!

I had stage 4 endo at age 33 and the doctor said I needed a full hysterectomy which removed ovaries, uterus and cervix. The doc said it was so bad that if I don't have the surgery when I menstruate I would cough blood if it moved to my lungs. I had the surgery and have been on the estradial patch for at least 5 years. I am on .1 and .5 patch every 4 days. I am now 40 and just went to a new doc and she was shocked I was on such a high dose.

I know I shouldn't worry but I've ignored symptoms for a year that points to Endometrial Cancer and it's a common cancer that can be caught early and treated. Here's where I'm beating myself with worry, I haven't had a GYN exam since 2007 and I've been going to the same dr since 1998 so he knows me and my symptoms very well.

About me...........i was diagnosed with pcos and endometrial hyperplasia in 2007.all my life i was told its just hormanal imbalance.i had endometrial hyperplasia due to not ovulating and no progesterone production.my uterian lining sheds abnormally with causes bleeding every month.my PERIODS last anywhere from 9 days to 2 months the only thing that i had ever taken that helped was provera.last months period lasted from april 5th 2011 to april 23rd 2011. It sucked.

When I take chemo, my CA125 gets higher. So, I hope the Femara works for you. If your cancer is like mine, you are lucky, and Femara will help. I live a normal life until the med wears off, about every two years. I have had no side effects that I am aware of.

i did two clomid cycles and then my dr. switched me to femara (much better) clomid can dry up your CM, but with femara i got lots of CM. I am supposed to be on a break, seeing my RE 5-6, but I had leftover clomid and went ahead with this month on my own. i did get the bad headache. we'll see what happens!

I tried Clomid for one cycle, but it made my lining too thin, so we switched to Femara. Even while on Femara I had a thin lining - rarely more than 7mm. The month that I got pregnant, I was on Femara, I had drank red raspberry leaf tea before ovulation, and eaten a heck of a lot of pineapple core after ovulation. Apparently the tea "tones" the uterus, and pineapple core helps with implantation. Strange that your Dr would precribe something for you and not monitor you properly.

I am on femara 5 days a month, but been warned that since it actually made for breast cancer patiences one should never take them unwatched. My sister has breast cancer and it stems from hormons. Don't risk it been my suggestion but you must decided. Its just not something worth messing around to possibly mess your whole system over. Rather go and see a gyni and save yourself from complications.

) Had my third IUI with femara (3-7). Had 5 follies. Went on progesterone suppositories, prometrium and estrace after the IUI. BFN. My bloodwork showed my progesterone levels were very low, even with the supplements. So my RE wants to do a biopsy to see if there is an issue with the embryo implanting. He does the biopsy and sends it to the Adeza lab in California for pathology to read. Anyone had this done and can give me any advice on their experience, what they found? I am nervous.

t want to take fossamax or any more drugs than necessary, but also do not want a recurrence of breast cancer. Is there a clinical study and shows femara vs placebo rather than femara vs tamoifen (novartis trial)? What is the general recommendation? Can you stop femara if side effects become a quality of life issue? Thank you.

She went to see her local Dr, not her cancer Dr and she said it could be a sign her liver is not working or the cancer has spread to her bones but when I looked at the Femara side effects on line it says fluid retention can occur whilst on these. Can anyone advise? Her local Dr has taken some blood to test for calcium levels.

A cancer that comes from the lining of the uterus is called endometrial cancer. A cancer that comes from the ovary is called ovarian cancer. Treatment for both cancers involves in part, at least, the removal of the uterus, cervix, right and left fallopian tubes and ovaries. For ovarian cancer , it is rare to not need chemotherapy. That is for just about all women unless it is a stage I cancer, they will need chemotherapy.

I don't know about Femara but I have gained weight on Tamoxifen. I get to stop taking it next month and I can't wait to see if I lose some of this weight.
