Its possible that the Metformin stimulated you to ovulate, despite the fact that you were on Femara. Normally, ovulation should be on exactly day 28 if Femara is take on CD 3-7. One other possibility is that you had an excessive build up in the lining from previous irregular periods, and it is just shedding early. Whatever the case, it was probably good to clean out your lining and start again. Hope the specialist has some insite, it sounds like your regular MD was on the right track!

I am not happy to read that it can get worse with a higher dosage but I am happy to know i wasnt alone in the ovulation pain.

I tried clomid 3 mo no ovulation now im using femara past 2 cycles last month my progestrone level was 21 on day 21 this month was 38 on day 23 just waiting to see if af comes sat

I took my last Femara pill on October 18. I bought some ovulation predictor tests from the Dollar Tree and took the first on October 20th. I was positive but I wondered if the Femara caused a false positive so I took another the next day and it was negative. I tested today and there was one line but it was so faint I could barely see it. Should I have gone with another brand?

My doctor told me to take all 10 pills on day 3 of my cycle. Has anyone else taken this drug in that dosage? From what I have been reading, others don't take them all at once.

Hi, Typically ovulation monitoring is carried out along with ovulation stimulating drugs like Letrozole. The monitoring can be done through external sonography but infertility specialists prefer vaginal sonography to find out the exact date when you ovulate and also the size of follicle(s).

) and that she is recommending me do lupron or femara for supression for 3-6 months.. we have been ttc for a year so before surg we thought we wouldn't do any of those meds since it woudl simply delay concieving longer.. I have pretty much decided against lupron, but may be open to doing femara for three months constantly.. anyone done this? i know it can be used for ovulation - like clomid.. but looks like new studies are showing if you use it consistently it is helping...

I'm having ovulation issues - as usual. Two weeks ago, I did my first cycle of Femara of 2.5mg on CD 3-7. Nothing happened so I am now on CD 7 of 5mg and hoping for the big O. I have been having menstrual type cramps and even some lower back aches for a couple of days now. I have done Clomid several times and never experienced any side effects. I'm hoping this is a good sign! Anyone experience this on Femara? Or has anyone not O'ed on 2.5mg but been successful at 5mg?

Also doing your temperature curve help to know if clomid is efficient. I was on 100 mg if I remember correctly. With femara dosage is lower.

ovulation usually occurs mid cycle if u have natural regular cycles. but if uv been on BC for so long ur body may take a some time to return back to its normal status.

After months of failed attempts trying the old fashioned way, and clomid, we finally got our BFP with the second cycle of femara. By the way the side effects of femara are way more tolerable than the awful side effects I would have on Clomid. Good Luck SSBD to you!

Hello! i've also been on femara for three cycles - this one is with follistim injectable as well.. but its pretty typical to develop only one mature follie wihle on femara (while clomid can cause more follies it can thin the lining and dry up your cervical mucus) I had one follie at 22mm the first cycle and two last cycle 19 and 21 (i'm only working with one functional ovary though) but I agree with candie increasing the dose would be a great start....

If your progesterone levels are not within the expected range with Femara, even when ovulation occurs, your doctor may want to supplement you with progesterone after ovulation. Progesterone not only helps with ovulation, but also helps to build the uterine lining. If the lining is too thin, it can cause the egg not to implant in the lining or can lead to early miscarraige. You can ask your doctor about Femara, which works similarly. Some women respond better to Femara than Clomid. You doctor should do a 21 day progesterone to indicate that you are ovulating and the progesterone levels are in the expected ranges. 250mg is a VERY strong dosage. Clomid did not work for me and after 4 months (50 mg, then 100mg and 2 months at 150mg). This past month I was put on letrozole (femara) and it worked. On day 13 I had an egg measuring 17.5mm.

I just used Femara on the first cycle and got pregnant my first round!Though my RE told me to BD around 4 days before ovulation and on ovulation day. We did about every nught before , during and once after and here I am at 6 weeks!I read somewhere that many women don't know that BD before ovulation increases your chances of getting pregnant also because the sperm can stay inside the woman's body for 4 to 5 days!Good luck and loads of Baby Dust******!

ve been charting my temperature too and it went up a little today, but not as much as usual after ovulation. If anyone out there has taken Femara or knows what to expect, I would really appreciate your thought and/or advice. Thank you so much!
