femara dosage for men

I was on Femara before my first pregnancy. I took one pill each day for 10 days, just like clomid dosing. Femara is a breast cancer drug and not sure how the side effects would turn out when taking 10 pills in one day. Sounds very unusual.

I am a 29yr femalen and I am ttc I had all the blood work done and its showing I have PCOS. I was put on metformin 500mg last month and had one cycle of femara 2.5mg and my doctor said it was not working as fast as he wanted to accoriding to the u/s. He said my PCOS was still hindering my ovaries from working properly.So I am going to see a specialist next week. He also increased the metformin to 1000mg and it will increase again on the 14th to 1500mg.

I am due for my first iui in sep ..am on letrozole ( femara) days 5-9..

My RE gave me an Rx for the highest dosage of Femara in preperation for an IUI. We can no longer afford the IUI, but I would still like to take the Femara and try the "old fashinioned" way. I'm just wondering what to expect? I have done several rounds of Clomid and two rounds of 5mg of Femara (with one cycle ending in cysts). I had little to no side effects. Is it safe to take this highest dosage without going in for the pre-O u/s to check the follies?

I am currently 3dpo and used femara for the first time this cycle. I did 5mg/day (two 2.5mg caps) on days 3-7. I too have wondered why there seem to be so many different days and doses, but haven't been able to find much about it. I certainly would like to know if another method - like taking the whole 5 day dose on one day - works better than others, but haven't had a chance to ask my doc yet.

It was only confirmed with a lapascopy. The markers continued to stay around 80 for the six months I was taking chemo. I went off all meds in Jan. Since mid Feb to mid Apr my markers went to 180. I started Femara in early Apr. After one month, marker went down to 170. About the same time I started Femara, I have constant sever pain in my right rib area and now pain in my lower right skull. Bone scan was negative.

I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

t thin your uterine lining like clomid does giving an embryo a good chance to be able to implant. Typically Femara has less side effects and is tolerated better. As far as dosage..you'll need to talk to your doc about that. Chances are they will start you on the lowest dose just like clomid and go from there. Most docs want you to take clomis CD 3 - 7, but some say 5 - 9.

) and that she is recommending me do lupron or femara for supression for 3-6 months.. we have been ttc for a year so before surg we thought we wouldn't do any of those meds since it woudl simply delay concieving longer.. I have pretty much decided against lupron, but may be open to doing femara for three months constantly.. anyone done this? i know it can be used for ovulation - like clomid.. but looks like new studies are showing if you use it consistently it is helping...

Gosh, I hope that this works for you! Femara has a pretty high rate of playing a positive role in getting pregnant and produces greater results than clomid. I had cramping like my period was coming on when I was early pregnancy. It's too early to test. I did use the early testing strips but didn't get a positive until 4 days out from my period. Do you temperature check? I found that extremely effective in understanding when I ovulated and if I was pregnant or not.

d back of the higher dosage of Clomid. Just my 2 cents worth. U have to do what feels right for you. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

Not to sound discouraging but clomid never worked for me. I took the highest dosage allowed by the FDA and still did not ovulate. Now, for a positive note, I am taking Femara. A lot of people don't like this idea; however, it has been proven that the femara is out of your system long before you conceive and there is no risk of birth defects. Keep Femara in mind if Clomid doesn't work for you.

I tried clomid 3 mo no ovulation now im using femara past 2 cycles last month my progestrone level was 21 on day 21 this month was 38 on day 23 just waiting to see if af comes sat

Hi Ladies. My chart looks really weird this month. I'm only on CD 9 and took my last dosage of Femara on Thursday night. My BBT has been increasing and I'm a little worried that I have O'd already. So far I havent done any OPK's because in my experience it is just far too early for me to be Oing. Anyone else had any difficulties with temping while on Femara? Can it raise one's BBT? Any advice would be appreciated.

Femara works on a different hormone then Clomid and is not suppose to have any of those side effects. I did 4 cycles of Clomid on the lowest dosage and 1 of Femara on the lowest dosage. The Clomid did dry up what little CM I did have and made me a little moody. I didn't notice any of that with the Femara.

Also doing your temperature curve help to know if clomid is efficient. I was on 100 mg if I remember correctly. With femara dosage is lower.

I"m sorry to hear that..With just letrazole we havne't gotten preg, but we used only that and only 2.5mg once a day my first two cycles of IUI and were still learning things..like the fact that my follicles don't always/usually don't rupture: ( so the first cycle i had only one follie the second i had two, nothing ruptured the first and one did the second.. we have male factor and LOTS of other issues too..

I am getting ready to start my 4th and last round of clomid prior to being referred to a specialist and my doctor won't increase the dosage from 50 mg to 100 mg. On the 1st round of clomid, I ovulated, on the 2nd round of clomid, I ovulated 8 days late, and on the 3rd round of clomid, I didn't ovulate at all and had no side effects. I have read that the dosage should be increased if you do not ovulate.

Start taking a multi-vit if you can (e.g., one a day for men)-add vit C. If you are a biker, I'd limit the time you spend doing so. If you don't exercise regularly, that may help too. Also, like amandamae1126 said, avoid caffeine and alcohol. Eating foods high in antioxidants may also be beneficial (wild blueberries, broccoli, etc.). Intercourse every 36 hours is what I've read is best.

I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! Thanks.

Hi, I am also on the dosage of Letrozole from D3 to D7. I wanted to know, is it always effective to take this medicine . I also suffer from PCOS. I am on second cycle now and had my MC on CD27 with pre-menstrual discharge on CD26. It lasted for 4days only , so how do i get to know if I actually ovulated or not ? I used OPKs on CD 10 and CD11 both in the evenings but got very faint line so cant even depend on that to know what happening in my body? Is there anyone else who has similar issues ?

I had an unsuccessful IUI last cycle(blood test and HPT showed negative). This cycle just doing Femara and timed IC. No Sonos for me this cycle since Femara has a low % of multiples. My only concern is being abel to catch my ovulation at the perfiect time! For some reason I have trust issues with the home ovu tests! What's up with that? Oh well.
