femara and trigger shot

Can I take Repronex and/or femara without using a trigger shot (by tracking ovulation with OPK instead)?

t normally post a lot but i wanted to let u know I got pregnant on my first cycle of femara and ovidrel. I think I took femara days 3-7 and then had a trigger when my follicles were ready. I had done 3 cycles of chlomid with no luck but got pregnant my first f/o cycle. I'm 26 weeks right now! So good luck ladies! I'm sure it will all work out!

On the first try of iui with donor, they did it without femara and the trigger shot. But they informed me that they missed my ovulation and decided to put me on femara and on the trigger to avoid missing it again/ and having a better control of it. On the second try of iui +donor+femara+trigger shot: they informed that I might ovulated before the trigger shot because they notice that the follicules were too big .

I went for a utlrasound to c how big my fol were I had 3 of them 20,23,24 dr said they were great size... That was done on my 12th day of my cycle.. He did give me my trigger shot and told me that I would ovulate 36 hours from the time i had the shot... So he told me to have sex friday nite 12/1am and then again saturday morning...My question is how does he know i will not ovulate earlier.. And the other question is will all 3 eggs be released...

I will have to talk to Dh he does not trust those tests he said when we are at the DR on Friday he is going to demand they test me again only because of the fact that with the trigger shot I never miss my period if I am not preggo. He is worried and confused and angry all at the same time. But we will get a blood test again to see.

I am on the third cycle of Femara, trigger shot and back to back IUI - which I had done within 24 hours and then 36 hours. My doc likes to do two rounds of iui back to back for more success. I hope this helps. I find out tomorrow if I am preggers...

Where do I begin? I am a 29yr old female and I have never been pregnant. 3mths ago I found out that I have PCOS. I had all the blood work done and it confirmed it. I had an HSG to make sure my tubes are open and they are. I had my first round of femara 2.5mg and metformin 500mg last month. Went back to the doc and he said no luck PCOS still in the way. Did a progesterone test and my level was 8.7 some docs say I ovulated some say I didn't I have no clue.

Yes once he sees follicles at 20mm he will give me the go ahead for my trigger shot. After the trigger shot he wants hubby and I told BD that night and 2 to 3 days following that time.

t be any reason to have the trigger shot. I think some doctors do this just to ensure ovulation and help time it better, but if your body doesn't need it, then why do it. I would check with your doctor though and be sure. I was on Femara for 4 cycles and I requested an u/s during 1 cycle just for peace of mind, but otherwise I just monitored my temps and used OPK's. Hi, Yes I am confused about trigger shot and injectables..As far as I understand, trigger shot iis done when you have dominant follicles ( I also have many follicles but no dominant one) to help you to prepare for pregnancy. And injectables induce Ovulation ...

Tried naturally until this month (clomid made my crazy) when we did the femara 2.5 mg 5-9 and thhe ovidrel trigger. Next month if this doesn't work (crossing my fingers) we are gonna try the femara with IUI. Any advice or tips?

Now my doctor wants me to take Femara and try the IUI with HCG trigger shot. When will the shot be given if I ovulate D14 or D15 usually? Will they wait until then or do the shot earlier? Can they miss it if they schedule it too late?

I took Femara on CD3-CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 for three months in a row. Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and IUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.

Hello.. are you on any progesterone supplements?? well i would just give it some time and retest in a few days if AF is still not there.. sometimes people can have delayed ovulation even with a trigger shot and you may have ovulated later than you think.. femara didn't delay my periods in the past, however i was always on progesterone so as soon as i stopped that then AF would come! Are you using a trigger shot or just going by OPKs? And when was the sonogram done compared to ovulation? If the sonogram was done the day of the trigger, the two 19mm ones you had your first month, would probably reach at least 22-23mm by ovulation, which is a very good size. The 16mm one this cycle should also have been mature by ovulation (if measured the day of trigger). Probably about 19-20mm.

I got pregnant on my second cycle of femara + trigger + IUI. Femara is similar to clomid and much much cheaper than injectibles. Just another option you might want to look into. Good luck!!

I did my trigger 6-14 at 9pm and I am pretty sure it was 10,000. I have just had some sharp/dull pain in my right side since friday so I'm going to call my Dr tomorrow and see if it is normal.

I ended up doing combo cycles of Femara cd3-7 and menopur injections cd8-10ish with a trigger shot when my follicles were mature. This gave me more eggs in each go. This particular cocktail gave me healthy singleton pregnancies twice. Both on the first cycle. I think it all comes down to finding out what works best with your body. I took 5mg Femara day 3-7 and then I had trigger shot of Ovidrel on cd11. Cd18 I will have my progestrone checked to see if I ovulated and then a week after that I will have a HCG test done to see if I am pregnant.

But as for the femara, yes I have had success with it. I got pregnant on my second cycle on it. I also did a trigger shot and IUI. I am 15 weeks pregnant. Prior to that I had tried clomid for a long time (longer than I should have been on it) with no success. So it does work! I hope it works for you!

I would say something to your doctor; my doc was going to put me on Provera when I didn't start my cycle. I tried the pill and that didn't work so she said Provera and I told her that my body doesn't respond and she had me skip and and go on Repronex and it worked for me. Well we are in the two week wait right now; hope this helps a little. Good Luck to you!
