374593 tn?1257879950 Once Endo patients have a Lap and the lesions get "cleaned up" . What are your opinions on Lupron for 3-6 months post-op, in order to achieve pregnancy in a patient with mod-severe endometriosis? From what i've ready I can't find any studies that say it increases conception rates, rather it may just make you asymptomatic during the treatment time.
Avatar f tn t prescribe a med. that seems to have good success rates, based on the literature, and has little known side-effects. Is this odd?
Avatar n tn Thats very exciting that your doing that! I have read the studies on the femara and hear its amazing! they actually went back in and did laps on people after three months and it was a HUGE improvement if not gone! we have been using femara 5mg for ovulation stimulation since it might suppress the endo super briefly while inducing super ovulation! GOOD LUCK with everything! keep me updated with how it goes!
Avatar n tn I also have severe endo (i guess stage 4 they didn't stage me but said it was one of the worst cases she had seen) I had no symptoms except premenstrual spotting- found an endometrioma 6cm on one of my ovaries and thats why we did the lap and found the horror that existed inside! I was in shock since NEVER did i have any symptoms! I have heard of lots of people with severe/stage 4 endo getting BFP! so there is defintely hope!
1299014 tn?1273247877 I had 6 IUIs using clomid before and got pregnant but unfortunately I miscarry at 6 wks at most. So my doc suggested Femara on my CD 2 for five days just as Clomid. I was supposed to have an IUI on Tuesday. I had an E2 test yesterday counted 61.94 though I developed 5 eggs ,he said it's low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara!
320424 tn?1205500555 t thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!
398038 tn?1247857003 Pregnancy rates with letrozole are similar to those seen with clomiphene citrate and are lower than the pregnancy rates seen with gonadotropins. Older patients have a lower chance of success than younger patients. Treatment with letrozole may still be successful even if other treatments have failed. For example, some data shows that in women who did not ovulate with clomiphene citrate, they still may ovulate with letrozole.
Avatar f tn I took that clomid for 3 months and on the 3rd month the opk said i was ovulating but no pregnancy and she switched me to femara. I took that for one month and it still said i was ovulating but no pregnancy. She told me my progesterone test said i wasnt ovulating. well thats what the nurse said anyways i never get to talk to the dr seen her once and never took any tests. She now wants me to see a fertility specialist which i cannot afford.
629388 tn?1255480562 HI, I am on my first IUI cycle and have the IUI tomorrow. I started on follastim with a HCG trigger and I have talked to so many people on here who got a BFP with their injectables and IUI. - First time as well. (to mom of three) - My RE says injectables have much higher success rates than clomid, (and multiples as you said) but they're really good with them and taper the doses to your needs. The only bummer is scans and bloodwork every 2 days, even at weekends.
Avatar f tn Hi.I took femara 5mg cd2-cd6 and now cd43, no period and negative home pregnancy test.Next period due in u days.Whats going on?
Avatar f tn I had stage 3+ breast cancer 6 years ago and had a lumpectomy (twice) and after chemo and radiation was put on Femara since my cancer was hormone sensitive. I've been on it the required 5 years and now the pharmaceutical company says another 5 years. My insurance won't pay for it after January, so does anyone have any ideas or experienced something similar? Femara is many hundreds of $ a month, so paying for it without help is not an option. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn as per my RE, it can take upto 30 days for Clomid to get out of our systems...there is another drug - Femara which has a much shorter life span in our bodies!
Avatar f tn in 2 weeks i will proceed to my 3rd IUI - so far no luck... Any ideas of what i might be doing wrong? I have been trying to conceive since 2001 - we never used any kind of protection, i finally started seeing a Fertility Specialist June 2010 till today - my husband has 'GREAT' sperm <> and i ovulate with the help of Clomid 200mg a day for 10 days... is there something i should not do or do to increase my chances of a pregnancy after the IUI?
144100 tn?1283522567 Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!
Avatar f tn m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.
1235159 tn?1323009319 Hi - After 3 rounds of Clomid and 1 round of Femara without a pregnancy, my RE started me on an IUI cycle of injectables (Follistim and Ovidrel). I am currently in my 2WW. I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.
1448645 tn?1370067496 There are so many conflicting stories out there and my question is that how long after iui did anyone have systoms of pregnancy and where actually pregnant. I am only due for a blood test on the 25th as the doc wants me to come in as soon as I find out I am pregnant to get check all my bloods and hormone levels. A bit of history… We have been trying for 19 months now after our first miscarriage at 8 weeks. The second happened again at 5.5 weeks.
Avatar f tn I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.
1340383 tn?1309990914 I have used both and after five attempts with clomid no success and the first try with letrozole I got pregnant with my son due to placenta ruption. I'm trying letrozole again with this cycle.
Avatar f tn I've tried researching and can't find anything about timing and success rates. I'm attempting to relieve my nerves for this two week wait and I'd SUPER appreciate anyone's input. I had a natural period that came out of nowhere, femara days 4-8, ultra sound comfirmed 3 mature follicles on day 15, hcg trigger shot on day 16 and IUI 26 hours later on day 17 (today). My husband's sperm count was 35 million and 78% motility. Anyone with any thoughts on our success chances?
Avatar f tn well looks like yall are both close to my schedule as well! This is also my first month taking femara and we will also be doing my first ovidrel inj and progesterone afterwards... So I agree, hopefully we can all be a success story and this combo will work great! as candie429 said, i've heard a lot of people get BFP's from these meds! I go in on tuesday for my follie check, then IUI (also a first!!!). GOOD LUCK TO you both! Keep me updated!
1150573 tn?1261964987 Well I will be starting Femara this month, CD 3-7 , and then progesterone.. I have heard pretty good news with women getting pregnant the first time on this Femara... I sooooo hope this works... Any good positive thoughts will help... We just has our first Blizzard of 2011 here in Douglas Michigan... 18" . I have seen enough of the white stuff... Wishing everyone SSBD ... TTUL..... Mary.....
Avatar f tn But you have to be cautious as it is too early for you to be experiencing symptoms related to pregnancy. Your symptoms of breast tenderness, tiredness, nausea and headaches could all be due to premenstrual hormonal changes. I would advise you to wait till your periods to confirm your pregnancy. And good luck. Regards.
413852 tn?1317308712 I had success my 2nd month on femara. Sadly that pregnancy ended at 11 1/2 weeks. Don't really know why. Before that I had done clomid/iui's, ivf with chemical pregnancy, and failed fet. With the femara we were also trying "naturally", so i do think it can work well. I am now on my third round of it again after my mc. Hoping for a bfp on Christmas, if not then i am moving on to injectables. Good luck with the femara!!
Avatar f tn Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
1160986 tn?1486819725 Hi everyone Saw the Dr today and were told that we do in fact have unexplained fertility. He recommended Femara x 5 days starting tonight. Then overlap with Gonal F injections starting day 6, then when follicles are mature, Ovidrel injection and IUI x 2. Then if pregnancy I'll take Progesterone for the first while (can't remember how long) Has anyone done something similar? Just curious. I'm 39 so he said this is the best way and We should try for 3 cycles. Hope this works!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone used Femara or Clomid and a "boost" of injectables and gotten a BFP? I will be doing 5mg of Femara CD 4 - 8 and then 150IU's of Menopur CD 9 - 11. We'll go in on CD 12 to check the follies and then hopefully proceed with IUI. I am hoping for more than 1 follicle. With Clomid and Femara I usually only have one follicle. It is usually nice and big though. Any thoughts would be helpful - any! Thanks..
