femara and mood swings

i took femara and i didnt have any mood swings, actaully i was really happy and relaxed when i took it. i guess everyone is different,also my dr told me that femara has a better sucess rate then clomid!! best of luck to you.

I loved Femara (I've used it all ;)) I had no side effects on Femara, felt like it was a very 'natural' cycle...no increased mood swings, no intense ovulation pain, etc. I ended up getting pregnant on a natural cycle, but still credit Femara with 'jump-starting' my body ;) The only thing that was a bit unique for me, from what I've read on posts, is that I took ALL my Femara pills on CD3.

The progesterone is probably the culprit. It is common to retain water while taking it, and it also causes mood swings and headaches. If you were my patient, I would try a cycle without the progesterone added. I would have you take the Femara on days 3-7 and then check your progesterone level on cycle day 21. If your natural level is fine, there is no need to supplement during the second half of the cycle.

I ovulate on Clomid - but did not on Femara. I will start Femara again, maybe a higher dose this time with trigger and IUI! Hoping it works this time - but that is pretty much all my RE is prescribing now, he loves it!

I had just a few minor headaches, mood swings and no CM with the Clomid. On Femera, I don't recall noticing anything out of the ordinary, but I only took it one cyle. Femera works on different hormones than Clomid does. It also has a shorter half-life so it leaves your body quicker. Some RE's perfer it because it doesn't cause you CM to dry up or thin your uterine lining like Clomid is prone to do.

I should not have had the mood swings like I had on the Femara and he said it needs to be looked into more then what he can do. So I guess we will take the big leap again and see what comes of it. Oh well life goes on. Thanks for letting me vent.

I haven't experienced headaches while taking shots, but I agree about the hot flashes! Have you experienced weight gain with the shots? I gain about 3-5 lbs with each round of shots. Luckily it has already started to drop from being off of it for two months. Do you get cycts on your ovaries when you go back after you start your cycle?

Another name for it is Femara and like Heather said, it is similar to clomid in that it "tricks" your body into producing more estrogen and should therefore help you ovulate. I also took it for 4 cycles and liked it much better than Clomid, no hot flashes or crazy mood swings. Typically you'll take 5 mg on cd3 through cd7. I've seen it work for a lot of people. It did help me O every cycle, but we just didn't get pregnant for some other reason I guess.

I too suffer from migraines for the last 19yrs I also take femara and my experience is yes you most likely will get a headache dull botherson but nothing like a full blown migraine trust me when I say I know your pain first hand.

t thin your uterine lining like clomid does giving an embryo a good chance to be able to implant. Typically Femara has less side effects and is tolerated better. As far as dosage..you'll need to talk to your doc about that. Chances are they will start you on the lowest dose just like clomid and go from there. Most docs want you to take clomis CD 3 - 7, but some say 5 - 9.

i'm on puregon and had no side effects at all not even weight gain or bloating, but i guess everyone is different, and good luck in your ttc adventure, i doubt that you would go back to clomid tho cause they try that first and since puregon is a follicle stimulating hormone that's used in higher doeses for egg stimulation in ivf.

m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.

I agree with Quinns Momma...I am surprised you are on hormones without knowing that you are the problem. That being said, your husband doesn't have to set foot in the doctors office. He should be able to produce a sample and if he doesn't want to deliver it, you can. It would save you money on hormones if he was the one with the problem. That being said... I was only on Femara one cycle and I never ovulated. I had a 49ish day cycle and then I finally started.

All my bf does is work and then come home and play video games all the time. I am working but got my hrs severely cut after the holidays so i am home alone a lot. It gives my mind way too much time to think! Im afraid to end up raising this baby alone. Just really need to talk to someone.

I have been extremely emotional lately. It *****. Every time someone says something or does something, it irritates the crap out of me. I'm taking it out on my friends, coworker, my coworkers and especially my boyfriend, the father of my child. It's getting old. It's not like me to be like this. m 9w2d and was wondering if any other mummies to be are experiencing very high mood swings I seem to get very angry really quickly and I assume every remark said is stupid. How can I fix this problem? And btw it's only with my husband most of the time.

Let me introduce my self. I am 43 yo, married for 6 years and I had my second ovary removed at age 37, after already having my uterus and 1st ovary removed in 1998 and 2000. (I also had a lung transplant 8 years ago). I had all the typical symptoms of menopause even though mine was surgical menopause. My ongoing problem is severe mood swings. About 5 years ago I found myself actually hysterical and didn't know what to do.

I am a 23 years old woman and I have been struggling with mood changes what seems forever. I've never felt "normal", whatever this means. I have never reacted to some sorts of situations the same way other people do. I just recently found out i was pregnant, and my boyfriend and i couldnt be happier. But I am always moody towards him, and i am never in the mood to be touched. I am scared if i keep this up, I will push him away.He is already keeping his distance. Does anyone have any good tips for me? I feel awful and I want to be able to control it. i try and tell my boyfriend that i am going through a lot of changes and i cannot control my emotions some times, he doesn't believe me and says that i need to just deal with it better, how do i cope with these wild emotions and how he treats it all like a joke no matter what I say?

Haha omg. We talk about everything from the beginning about being pregnant. And all week he just, drives me up the wall! And I'm really sarcastic and mean, it just flows out.. then two seconds later I'm like "oh my god baby I'm really sorry I didn't mean it I love you" hahaha! I am six weeks and i am crying and sad over small stuff. Been trying to potty train my two yr old with not much luck. I think that might be part of it. Is this normal to have so early and what can i do to help work through it?? Also will this mean that i will have postpartum after the baby comes? I was fine last time during and after.
