femara and late period

Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

On the first try of iui with donor, they did it without femara and the trigger shot. But they informed me that they missed my ovulation and decided to put me on femara and on the trigger to avoid missing it again/ and having a better control of it. On the second try of iui +donor+femara+trigger shot: they informed that I might ovulated before the trigger shot because they notice that the follicules were too big .

Hi I have pcos and tried clomid with provera a few cycles with no luck at all didnt ovulate.....

This will be my 2nd iui and this will be my third cycle on femara. I cycle on femara with iui, one cycle just femara and this cycle on femara with hopefully iui around the 30th, 1st or 2nd(weekend). We have been ttc for over 2yrs and have unexplained infertility. All of our blood work and tests and u/s are perfect. Our sperm is perfect and eggs and uterus look great. I was just looking for others that are going thru the same thing so we could support each other!!

t gotten pregnant after about 8 months. I was started on Femara and went on Monday (CD 13) and there was one follie that was 10 and my lining was 6. I did OPK's this week and nothing. I went back this morning and the 10 had grown to 13 and my lining was 10. There were lots of other ones 7 - 11 in size. I didn't see the doc, just the np. She said normally the doc would abandon this cycle but she said she had a feeling about me.

I was wondering why my ov is so late and why this time my folicel is too small because I was on clomid and I had lot of folicle and all of them more than 17mm ,so is it possible with this small I get pregnant or not , polease let me your experience I'm really frustrated/.

I am wondering if any of you that have taken Femara or Clomid have trouble w/ late periods. I usually have about a 29-30 day cycle and it seems like with this Femara and even with the Clomid my periods are like 34-36 days. This is very frustrating as I want to not have such long periods. I am getting ready to start my period and you know how it is when you know you are not pregnant and want to start the month again. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks for any input.

I will have to talk to Dh he does not trust those tests he said when we are at the DR on Friday he is going to demand they test me again only because of the fact that with the trigger shot I never miss my period if I am not preggo. He is worried and confused and angry all at the same time. But we will get a blood test again to see.

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

I am being monitored by my doc and I completed a cycle of clomid and the blood work confirmed I ovulated and I could also tell from the several symptoms I was experiencing... NOW....here I am on CD34 and no period and just got blood test results back from my doc that resulted in a BFN!!!! I am soo disappointed. My boobs have been sore for a week and a half, back ache etc etc... I had my hopes set high this time.... Do you think I am just going to have a late AF??

I get irregular AFs too. My AFs don't come but once a year if I'm lucky. I have been on Provera every other month and did about 4 rounds of Clomid with serious side effects and failed to work. Took a break from fertility drugs. Started Provera up again the last week of July and did Femara from cd3-7 and got a positive OPK on cd 8 and 9, and O'ed on cd 10. First time I O'ed in a long time. Every women is different. Do you also check your cervix?

Out of the clear blue sky my periods started coming on faithfully...Sept thru Jan. I had a failed IUI in December...I ovulated late but was happy to find femara makes me ovualate cuz clomid does not work for me. My period for the month of feb was very light I can say the entire cycle may have filled up on pad...(just to give an example). So my period was due to come on the 19th...I had cramping and hot flashes but no period yet?? I did take a hpt in feb but it was neg.

but i feel like i am going to come on my period anytime so why take provera? the doctor said that i need it as i am late and also because of low progesterone what may seem like a period could only be anovulatory bleeding. i am confused what will provera do that wont happen by me just waiting for the annovulatory bleeding??? will it actually bring on a period and not anovulatory bleeding? and how does that make a difference.? also i dont understand why i did not ovulate?

Well, I think day 14 is very late to start Femara. Unless your cycle is very very long, you will ikely O any day now and you are supposed to take Femara on days 5-9 (or somewhere around there).

Had to start taking provera every other month just to have a period. My husband and I were trying for baby number 2 in September 2009. In late August 2010, my gyno did an ultrasound since I was in a lot of pain on my left side to find that I had a 2 centi. tumor inside my left ovary, it was non-cancerous luckily and went away on it's own in November 2010.

I had 6 IUIs using clomid before and got pregnant but unfortunately I miscarry at 6 wks at most. So my doc suggested Femara on my CD 2 for five days just as Clomid. I was supposed to have an IUI on Tuesday. I had an E2 test yesterday counted 61.94 though I developed 5 eggs ,he said it's low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara!

Hi.I took femara 5mg cd2-cd6 and now cd43, no period and negative home pregnancy test.Next period due in u days.Whats going on?

I started spotting April 14th (day 2 after 5th day of femara) til 16th. Heavy period 17th and 18th. Medium on 19th and light on the 20th. Spotting a bit today. I did take an ovulation test tonight...faint line which is still considered negative. A little confused when I should expect that ovulation. Any ideas?

So started them..period was a couple days late but is here with a vengeance. Heavy, crampy, etc. Could it be due to taking progesterone as it is supposed to cause a thicker lining and more to shred off?? I have an appt for an ultrasound next week to make sure I have no cysts but this period has sucked bad.

hi this is my 3 round of clomid and my period is 5 days late and i am feeling mild cramps. what should i do??

Hope some one can advise me! Ive pcos and on femara to ttc for 1 year. My periods are usually 28 -30 day cycles. Was due period Sunday if was to b a 28 day cycle so now 5 days late. had a negative pregnancy test Saturday and Monday. Im tired, bloated, urinating frequently And have little to no discharge. Im so down and fed up over all these negative results. Has anyone any advice or experienced similar? Any feedback atal would be much appreciated.

So i just started femara yesterday (cd3) and AF is now totally gone it seems! is that normal? sometimes i'll get a little break for night on day three, but it alllways returns the next morning and now its nowhere to be found! Not sure if this is more likely from my recent lap (3 weeks ago) or from the femara? anyone have any ideas? Do you think that it will affect my uterine lining this month if AF was only around for a mild 2.5 days? Thanks!

This is my second month on femara. I am on cd15 and my follies are growing so slow - only 13.5mm! (Last month they were 17mm on cd12!). Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? Also, what is too slow? Is there a day by which your RE would just stop the cycle and induce AF? I am just worried to get prego so late in my cycle. The 2 miscarriages I had were when I ovulated late (but were natural cycles, no meds).

I'm on my second round of Femara and it appears that I am ovulating. My BBT and LH test were consistent with each other. But I'm still having break through bleeding starting after I ovulate. I had a really heavy 6 day period, ovulated on Day 14, and on Day 18 had a spot of blood and Day 20,23, and 24 I had pre menstrual like bleeding. I wass on BC for 8 years and have been off of it since 2006.

YES... I did have hard time TTC and I am pregnant right now. My husband and I tried to conceive since July 07. We tried until March 09 then we gave up. Doctor put me all kind of fertility medicine such as Clomid 100mg, Femara, Estradiol, Prometrium, Repronex, Follistim.. We tried and tried and nothing happen. We even tried 2 IUI and not success.. In April the doctor told me take a break and he will perform laparoscopic surgery on 04/17/09. We will try again in June 09.

He concluded that I have some form of ovarian dysfunction (NOT infertility), due to my late ovulation, long cycles and lacking CM. He also said that my hormone levels look great (meaning there isn't anything chemically going on) EXCEPT for my DHEA levels. He said that those were a little low at 95; he'd like to see them in the 200's. Since I am already taking Armour Thyroid for a subclinical hypothryoidism problem - it 'fits' that my DHEA might be off.
