Common Questions and Answers about Femara and iui success
femara
Hi there-I was on clomid 2 months with IUIand trigger-only had 2 follicles both times. I was on Femara this month, trigger andIUIand I had 6 follicles. I also took it on 4-8. So, for me, femara worked much better. I didn't do Menopur. I am in my 2ww and will find out on Tuesday. I wish you all the best!
we also have used femara, for quite a few cycles now! we have had two pregnancies (with femara +follistim andIUI) but miscarried unfortunately : ( it does have great results though, its great for endometriosis patients too, since it does overproduce estrogen like some medications..
HI, I am on my first IUI cycle and have the IUI tomorrow. I started on follastim with a HCG trigger and I have talked to so many people on here who got a BFP with their injectables and IUI. - First time as well.
(to mom of three) - My RE says injectables have much higher success rates than clomid, (and multiples as you said) but they're really good with them and taper the doses to your needs. The only bummer is scans and bloodwork every 2 days, even at weekends.
then we did 2 rounds of femara (letrezole) with andiui, unfortunately no luck....so we took 3 months off, now repeat semen analysis and if the counts are up, injectables to up the odds, if they havent changed we are thinking ivf....
I'm on my way to have a trigger shot for an IUI tomorrow after getting a helluva period out of nowhere with no medical intervention and then taking 7.5 mg femara days 5-9. I had an ultra sound on day 15 (yesterday) and I wasn't expecting much. Nothing ever seems to work and I usually get bad news with ultra sounds. I had literally stopped trying to be optimistic. And she said, "woah.
ve Only Tried One cycle Of Clomid And Did Ovulate With It Before My Dr Switched Me To Femara. Provera Induced Period, Cd 2, Start Femara 2.5Mg Tomorrow. Anyone Ever Have Success With Femara With No Pcos Or Iui?
Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 andIUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.
We are going on 2 years if trying with one MC last year. Frustrated and sad. Has anyone had success with IUIS and how many attempts did it take? Please send positive energy our way :) thanks!
Okay ladies im about to drive myself crazy. I can not figure out what's going on. Here's my story...
Pcos, trying to achieve ovulation with femara, then trigger, then iui.
First he started me on provera. I didnt have much of a period. More like some brown spotting for a few days. He claimed that was my period so started me on femara cd 5-9.
Cd12 went for a an ultrasound, he said I didnt respond to the femara and wanted to up dosage to 7.5. My lining was measuring 6mm.
I have used both and after five attempts with clomid no successand the first try with letrozole I got pregnant with my son due to placenta ruption. I'm trying letrozole again with this cycle.
Should be getting AF this coming week or so and hopefully start IUI after Clomid 100 mg-CD 5-9 -. There has been alot of success on this forum and looking to support with those who want to share!
I am on the third cycle of Femara, trigger shot and back to back IUI - which I had done within 24 hours and then 36 hours. My doc likes to do two rounds of iui back to back for more success.
I hope this helps.
I find out tomorrow if I am preggers...
I got pregnant on my second cycle of femara + trigger + IUI. Femara is similar to clomid and much much cheaper than injectibles. Just another option you might want to look into. Good luck!!
Today is CD 1 and I will start taking Femara CD 5 - 9. We are planning an IUI with trigger shot if the follicles look good.
We've been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and I am pretty frustrated. We went from my gyno to a big fertilty clinic here in Austin. That wasn't working and they were pushing for injections (we cannot afford) so we opted for a second opinion.
t afford the IUI quite yet. My main question is has anyone heard of success with ONLY clomid and low morph?? She did end up giving me a prescription but I am debating if I should even fill it...?!? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
I've tried researching and can't find anything about timing and success rates. I'm attempting to relieve my nerves for this two week wait and I'd SUPER appreciate anyone's input. I had a natural period that came out of nowhere, femara days 4-8, ultra sound comfirmed 3 mature follicles on day 15, hcg trigger shot on day 16 and IUI 26 hours later on day 17 (today). My husband's sperm count was 35 million and 78% motility. Anyone with any thoughts on our success chances?
I only had 1 follicle at 20.5 with injectables and clomid. I took my 1st hpt after IUI at 11dp trigger and 9dp IUIand got my BFP. I wish you the best! Good luck!
I used this as well after no success with 8 months of Clomid. Femara with timed intercourse and an IUI worked on my 3rd treatment. I'm due in June! BFP coming ur way!
Now my doctor wants me to take Femaraand try the IUI with HCG trigger shot. When will the shot be given if I ovulate D14 or D15 usually? Will they wait until then or do the shot earlier? Can they miss it if they schedule it too late?
I agree with Jenny that you should go with an RE. But as for the femara, yes I have had success with it. I got pregnant on my second cycle on it. I also did a trigger shot and IUI. I am 15 weeks pregnant. Prior to that I had tried clomid for a long time (longer than I should have been on it) with no success. So it does work! I hope it works for you!
