femara and hcg injection

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. It would just be nice to know if this has worked for someone and if it has, how well.

It appeared my eggs were not maturing on their own and I kept getting cysts. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. My treatment was femara, injection for 3 days, HCG shot and IUI. Your doctor will find a treatment that will work for you. Keep your hopes up. I remember choosing to not be stressed out about whether I was going to get a positive or not and it worked for me. When they look good we trigger with 5,000 HCG injection for ovulation and IUI 36 hours later. I also do another 2,500 HCG injection 3 days after trigger and start progesterone suppositories (200 mg twice daily). Then I do third 2,500 HCG injection 3 days after that. My protocol is slightly different due to the rpl (recurrent pregnancy loss). My DH is convinced none of this fertility stuff is going to work. But we have agreed to do 3 or 4 IUI then try one IVF.

Yesterday I had my day 11 ultrasound and I have three follicles of 17, 15 and 18mm and dr gave me hcg injection last nite as well now I will go for iui on Tuesday morning inshallah hoping n praying for the best.

This month we did Femara again cycle days 5-9,HCG shot this morning and our first try of IUI tomorrow morning. I have 2 folicles per Ultra Sound (Thank you God and Femara) Left ovary follicle Sunday measured 18 and Right ovary follicle measured 14. We are both hoping and praying our IUI is a HUGE SUCCESS tomorrow morning. Our 10 year Wedding anniversary is 10/30...I can not think of a better gift....a sibling or siblings for our son and a wonderful addition to our family! Best of Luck Everyone!!

So, I to Femara followed by Follistim and hcg injection and currently in my 2ww. I developed 7 follicles, 4 of them were mature. RE went ahead and gave me my hcg injection and told me that my chances of conceiving are greater than women who don't do any fertility treatment. We are doing a natural cycle (no iui or ivf). i failed to ask him what my chances are. Does anyone know?

Have had two surgeries, countless blood tests, HCG, clomid, femara who knows what else for 6 cycles now...and one IUI. The IUI did not take and since I am certifiable, I had the nerve to ask the doctor if there was really sperm when I had it done or if this is just a huge money making ploy. He was floored, and after I realized what I had said I'm like "just kidding". Not Good. Today I had my first injection of Puregon, what should I expect?

Hello Doctor, My RE has just put me on Femara this month. I fixed the appointment today the 12th of June (cd 4) and he told me to take 2 tablets a day for five days and then intercourse every two days after that. I've had no luck past month with merional injection and choriomon(hcg trigger). I have had a hysterosalpiogram and my tubes were fine, have regular ovualtion and every month I produce around 10 follicles on one side and eight on the other.

Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!

I had no side effects from femara, whereas with clomid the side effects were terrible (moody, hot flashes, sore boobs, etc) femara was wonderful compared to clomid! my first cycle on femara I did not ovulate, but on my second round of femara i used hcg injection and got pregnant that way. good luck!!

I also took the same drug on days 3-7 and have my follicle scan on Friday. I previously took Clomid for a few months and had the injection once then, but not since I've been on the Letrazole (Femara). I've seen a lot of success stories on here with this combination, so that's why I requested the ultrasound/injection this month. I don't know how much needles bother you, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have done several iui's and used clomid, femera and the hcg injections so far. I'm wondering about the injectable fertility Meds I keep hearing about, my RE hasn't suggested them yet... Anyone have any insight about other meds?

Can I take Repronex and/or femara without using a trigger shot (by tracking ovulation with OPK instead)?

I started on follastim with a HCG trigger and I have talked to so many people on here who got a BFP with their injectables and IUI. - First time as well. (to mom of three) - My RE says injectables have much higher success rates than clomid, (and multiples as you said) but they're really good with them and taper the doses to your needs. The only bummer is scans and bloodwork every 2 days, even at weekends.

I am sorry to hear about your m/c. When do you start the new cycle of femara? It has taken some time for me to actually get the nerve up to write a post. I am almost embarrased that I am having trouble getting pregnant. I know its nothing to be ashamed of, but when you are ttc, everyone just assumes that can. When you can't, you feel abnormal.

So i just started femara yesterday (cd3) and AF is now totally gone it seems! is that normal? sometimes i'll get a little break for night on day three, but it alllways returns the next morning and now its nowhere to be found! Not sure if this is more likely from my recent lap (3 weeks ago) or from the femara? anyone have any ideas? Do you think that it will affect my uterine lining this month if AF was only around for a mild 2.5 days? Thanks!

How many tries did it take for you to get pregnant? Were you on any fertility drugs? Did you do IUI or IVF, with a known or unknown donor? My wife and I are going on our 5th month but 3rd try. The first month was on 50mg of clomid with 3 mature follicles and didn't get pregnant. Second attempt was on 75mg clomid with 7 follicles (5 mature and 3 close, skipped that one, didn't want to be "octo-mom") and last month was on 2.

Do you know any alternative of Ovidrel??.....something live novodral or something...dont know the exact name...but my nurse said that she wants to change somethings in the protocol including the HCG trigger injection...please tell me thr right name, i'd like to look up the info online. And why wud they change the HCG trigger if i am already ovulating with ovidrel.

m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.

Hi,I am suffering with pcos ,this cycle doctor given femara + 3 menogon injection and today is my 8thday of cycle, still eggs are small, may I know how long it will take to get results on menogon..

I have been ttc for about 8 months now, last November I was diagnosed with PCOS and had all the cysts and symptoms. I was prescribed metformin and spirolactin and began birth control. In March when I started ttc I stopped the birth control had regular periods until July then didn't have a period at all for 3 months and negative HPT and blood tests :(. My doctor put me on Progesterone (1 pill for 10 days) and I received my period 4 days after my last pill.

So the femera is doing what we expect and that is to mature follicles and the hcg makes me ovulate. I am currently on day 2 of the 4th and hopefully the last femera cycle.

I took one cycle of Femara with hcg trigger last month I have spotted and have not had no cycle and pt are negative, can anyone help?

I am CD15 - did femara CD3-7, U/S CD12 - had 3 follis 17, 24, 12 on rt and 1 on left 14mm - had HCG today and IUI tomorrow. Altho - i think we screwed up and DTD last nite - so it will only be 36 hrs abstaining. I am so freaked that DH's #s will be off bc of it. I am almost 37 and we have a 2.5 yr old DD. She was easy to concieve but we have been TTC #2 for 2 yrs.

Where do I begin? I am a 29yr old female and I have never been pregnant. 3mths ago I found out that I have PCOS. I had all the blood work done and it confirmed it. I had an HSG to make sure my tubes are open and they are. I had my first round of femara 2.5mg and metformin 500mg last month. Went back to the doc and he said no luck PCOS still in the way. Did a progesterone test and my level was 8.7 some docs say I ovulated some say I didn't I have no clue.
