femara and hcg

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. It would just be nice to know if this has worked for someone and if it has, how well.

Can I take Repronex and/or femara without using a trigger shot (by tracking ovulation with OPK instead)?

I am sorry to hear about your m/c. When do you start the new cycle of femara? It has taken some time for me to actually get the nerve up to write a post. I am almost embarrased that I am having trouble getting pregnant. I know its nothing to be ashamed of, but when you are ttc, everyone just assumes that can. When you can't, you feel abnormal.

Has anyone taken femara w/o IUI and had any luck? Any advice? What kind of side effects should i expect with femara?

So i just started femara yesterday (cd3) and AF is now totally gone it seems! is that normal? sometimes i'll get a little break for night on day three, but it alllways returns the next morning and now its nowhere to be found! Not sure if this is more likely from my recent lap (3 weeks ago) or from the femara? anyone have any ideas? Do you think that it will affect my uterine lining this month if AF was only around for a mild 2.5 days? Thanks!

SO it was almost a success story, but when we got preg there was a genetic abnormality.. so the good news is that it deifntley happens and sometimes without any help with a morph of 2% along with female issues too! m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.

So the femera is doing what we expect and that is to mature follicles and the hcg makes me ovulate. I am currently on day 2 of the 4th and hopefully the last femera cycle.

I took one cycle of Femara with hcg trigger last month I have spotted and have not had no cycle and pt are negative, can anyone help?

I am CD15 - did femara CD3-7, U/S CD12 - had 3 follis 17, 24, 12 on rt and 1 on left 14mm - had HCG today and IUI tomorrow. Altho - i think we screwed up and DTD last nite - so it will only be 36 hrs abstaining. I am so freaked that DH's #s will be off bc of it. I am almost 37 and we have a 2.5 yr old DD. Just turned 35 and am on my third iui with femara, follistim, and hcg trigger. I have trouble ovulating on my own. Have a son we conceived naturally-I'm in the secondary infertility category. Procedure next week fingers crossed. Don't want to move to ivf. Baby dust to all.

Where do I begin? I am a 29yr old female and I have never been pregnant. 3mths ago I found out that I have PCOS. I had all the blood work done and it confirmed it. I had an HSG to make sure my tubes are open and they are. I had my first round of femara 2.5mg and metformin 500mg last month. Went back to the doc and he said no luck PCOS still in the way. Did a progesterone test and my level was 8.7 some docs say I ovulated some say I didn't I have no clue.

Then we decided to try Clomid along with all this other stuff plus HCG injections to trigger ovulation and then support the pregnancy, so three injections of HCG in total. First round, pregnancy m/c around 5 weeks. Two more rounds of that I didn't get pregnant. Switched to Femara. First round didn't get preg. Currently on my second round w/ Femara. My question is- we really seemed to get preg much much much easier without clomid or femara. On the first or second try.

I am have another 2 weeks before my RE can put me on clomid..I will ask him about the medicine femara.. and a stronger trigger 10,000units of hcg..when it is time...go away cysts I want to get pregnant soon.....

I also do another 2,500 HCG injection 3 days after trigger and start progesterone suppositories (200 mg twice daily). Then I do third 2,500 HCG injection 3 days after that. My protocol is slightly different due to the rpl (recurrent pregnancy loss). My DH is convinced none of this fertility stuff is going to work.

Hey everyone. I'm Danielle i'm new here:) I was diagnosed with PCOS last January and started metformin and provera (to start my period). I just took clomid a couple weeks ago on days 3-7. My doctor said i had like 20 follicles but none were mature. Does anyone know a reason why they didn't mature? So now she took me off of metformin and I just started avandia. And wheneveer I start my next period she's gonna put me on Femara and an hcg shot.

The way to find out is to have quantitative beta HCG levels done 48 hours apart and compare the two. If it is a new pregnancy, the level should approximately double. If it is left over from the previous pregnancy the level will probably fall. If you are pregnant again, there is no need to worry about anything other than the usual worries.

Started trying in August with Femara and HCG shot. Failed. Then sept i go in another lap surgery because i had to remove my appendix. This mth trying again. This time with femara, menopur and going for HCG tomorrow.

Yesterday I had my day 11 ultrasound and I have three follicles of 17, 15 and 18mm and dr gave me hcg injection last nite as well now I will go for iui on Tuesday morning inshallah hoping n praying for the best.

This is way cheaper then injections only and has a lower likelihood is producing high order multiples. This is what ended up working for me when clomid and Femara alone didn't. I am now 18 weeks pregnant with my second. Good luck.

This month we did Femara again cycle days 5-9,HCG shot this morning and our first try of IUI tomorrow morning. I have 2 folicles per Ultra Sound (Thank you God and Femara) Left ovary follicle Sunday measured 18 and Right ovary follicle measured 14. We are both hoping and praying our IUI is a HUGE SUCCESS tomorrow morning. Our 10 year Wedding anniversary is 10/30...I can not think of a better gift....a sibling or siblings for our son and a wonderful addition to our family! Best of Luck Everyone!!

My husband are going through our first cycle of Femara and we had more follicles then we have ever had even with injections which I thought wow. I am in my 2ww now. So I am excited to see how it works I am hoping for BFP come Friday the 22nd when I have my HCG checked. I think femara is a good thing so far. I wish you lots of luck to everyone here.

I started spotting April 14th (day 2 after 5th day of femara) til 16th. Heavy period 17th and 18th. Medium on 19th and light on the 20th. Spotting a bit today. I did take an ovulation test tonight...faint line which is still considered negative. A little confused when I should expect that ovulation. Any ideas?

Have had two surgeries, countless blood tests, HCG, clomid, femara who knows what else for 6 cycles now...and one IUI. The IUI did not take and since I am certifiable, I had the nerve to ask the doctor if there was really sperm when I had it done or if this is just a huge money making ploy. He was floored, and after I realized what I had said I'm like "just kidding". Not Good. Today I had my first injection of Puregon, what should I expect?

Now my doctor wants me to take Femara and try the IUI with HCG trigger shot. When will the shot be given if I ovulate D14 or D15 usually? Will they wait until then or do the shot earlier? Can they miss it if they schedule it too late?

I had no side effects from femara, whereas with clomid the side effects were terrible (moody, hot flashes, sore boobs, etc) femara was wonderful compared to clomid! my first cycle on femara I did not ovulate, but on my second round of femara i used hcg injection and got pregnant that way. good luck!!

I am 29 and we've been TTC for 3 years now without any positive results (no miscarriages either though). I took 6 rounds of Clomid (3 at 50 mg & 3 at 100mg) and nothing. I am seeing a fertility specialist now and this is my first month taking Femara at 5 mg and we'll combine it with IUI as soon as get positive ovulation.
