Avatar n tn However, since the accidental discovery of an interaction between the calcium channel blocker, felodipine, with grapefruit juice,1 it has now become evident that grapefruit juice has the potential to alter the plasma concentrations of many medications when they are taken by mouth. In some cases, this may result in undesirable clinical effects of medications.
Avatar f tn Most women have some swelling during pregnancy. More severe swelling during pregnancy may be a sign of preeclampsia (also called toxemia), a serious condition that includes high blood pressure and swelling. Swollen legs may be a sign of heart failure, kidney failure, or liver failure. In these conditions, there is too much fluid in the body.

Avatar n tn In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.
Avatar m tn Coadministration with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A protease inhibitors, boceprevir and telaprevir, may increase the plasma concentrations and pharmacologic effects of calcium channel blockers, especially the dihydropyridines (e.g., amlodipine, felodipine, nicardipine, nifedipine, nisoldipine). The mechanism involves inhibition of intestinal and hepatic CYP450 3A4, the isoenzyme primarily responsible for the metabolic clearance of most calcium channel blockers.
Avatar f tn I am active, never sick but use eyedrops for Glaucoma, very slightly elevated blood pressure for which I take a mild 5 mg. Felodipine tab and vytorin for slightly elevated cholestrol. My chol. ratio with meds is 2.3. The last week I have had a great slowing of my pulse. For three days it didn't get over 42 and on one day if got down as low as 37 and then 38 and stayed there all day. My blood pressure has been about the same as it always is....

Avatar n tn I'm a 38 year old male with a 16 or so year history of "noticeable" PVCs. They weren't particuarly frequent (maybe a few per hour) but annoying. My doctor tried beta blockers (Toprol, Atenolol) and a calcium channel blocker (cardizem), none of which had any effect on my PVCs. ECGs and an echocardiogram were all normal. I eventually learned to live with them and for the most part ignore them. About a year ago I was experiencing some chest pain so I had a cardiac workup.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 10mg of lisinopril, 5mg of felodipine daily and then a few visits to a very enthusiastic GP he has put me on 2x 95mg metoprolol succinate daily because I had a high heart rate in all my readings. My BP and heart rate now seems to be okay when I get it checked but this seems like a very high dose of metoprolol and I'm getting worried it's going to cause me some damage in the long term.
Avatar m tn ve been on the meds for almost 8 yrs of which 3 yrs of that serving as a Drill Sgt. I can also deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan using Felodipine and was curious as to what harm would 61 days of Ranger School do.
20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.

16566098 tn?1449575473 Yes. Didn't know much about it earlier so I kept on reading. Still a little trubbled of my TSH 9,1 and don't know really what to do. I feel good so there is nothing to it. Thin as a stick always since my childhood :). Seing iver the years my TSH level have rised since 2004 but T3 and T4 are still the same. It is crazy strange. My antibodies were tpo sk were 56 and compared to 2012 they were 104 but I cut gluten off since 2012. But why the TSH so high? Hm.
1318465 tn?1614894302 Hi everyone, Today in the HIV forums, I read about someone's non-existent exposure. Which was wearing two condoms and having vaginal sex for 2 minutes. This person then checked the condom for leakage by filling it with water. Ah, I remember those days, I actually forgot about that technique, of course I actually did it for more of a fear of pregnancy reasons --didn't want my gf to get pregnant.
Avatar f tn So more stents have been placed now. There has been addition of Felodipine and Ranytidine. My Total cholesterol has come down to 3.6 mmol/L, and LDL 2.0. But the dr. didn't reduce the Simvastatin dose. Now I am at home, feeling weak, but the jaw pain is not there. This time the Angiography was done very thoroughly, so I hope for the better. Your support gives me courage and hope. Thank You so much.
