felodipine metoprolol

I have been prescribed 10mg of lisinopril, 5mg of felodipine daily and then a few visits to a very enthusiastic GP he has put me on 2x 95mg metoprolol succinate daily because I had a high heart rate in all my readings. My BP and heart rate now seems to be okay when I get it checked but this seems like a very high dose of metoprolol and I'm getting worried it's going to cause me some damage in the long term.

Im already on 100 mg 1 time a day of extended release Metoprolol.....and I think, just to appease me, because ive had a couple really really bad days of almost nonstop palps..he said to increase my Metoprolol to 1 100mg tablet in the morning...and 1 100mg tablet at night. I have taken Toprol xl 25 mg for about 5 years. My doctor switched me to metoprolol several months ago. When I filled my prescription this time, it was from a different mfg and I think I may be having problems with it as I just don't feel right. Could changing the mfg make a difference? ALSO, my doctor prescribed 50 mg to be cut in half for my prescribed 25 mg dose. Does cutting this tablet in half compromise the time release?

I have been having some strange symptoms since starting metoprolol as a migraine preventative. My head feels like it weighs a ton, and there is a lot of pressure up there, too. I've also been experiencing blurry vision and some concentration issues. I also take lithium, trazodone and neurontin and a rare xanax.

I don't think the metoprolol, a beta blocker which; reduces the force and rate of the contraction of the heart, is causing this. The medicines that you take for hyperthyroidism might cause some exacerbation of the "hard heart beat" symptoms, especially if they are contraindicated with metoprolol, of course. Your doctor should be on top of this and I would let him know about it, especially if it just started, or is getting worse.

Ok so I've been on Metoprolol 50-100mg a day for about a year for benign tachycardia. It's overall worked good for me. But I've noticed a decline in sexual function, specifically, more difficulty keeping an erection during sex. I'm about to start Cialis, so hopefully that will help regardless, but my cardiologist mentioned that I might try Cardizem. He was suggesting it had fewer sexual side effects.

I came home after a day with prescriptions of Clopidogrel 75mg, Metoprolol tartrate 50 mg, Acetylsalicylic acid 75 mg and Simvastatin 40 mg (my cholesterol was 200 ).Since then I never felt good. I take this medication as well and have been on it for 3 years. I have never experienced depression while on this medication. I believe your doctor is correct in that this is not a side effect of the medication. I have not heard of weight gain from this medication as well. Maybe this is a side effect of your depression? In other words, you are eating more because you are depressed.

I got the generic form but the cost is very high. Can he switch to metoprolol and take 50mg in the am and 50mg in the pm?

He told me to wean off of the metoprolol for 5 days while taking the verapamil, and to cut down to 50mg on the metoprolol for the first day and go progressively down throughout the 5 days it takes for the verapamil to get in my system. I haven't started the verapamil yet. Partially because I have a hard time swallowing pills, partially because I am confused about the specifics of switching.

I take metoprolol (aka lopressor) for PVC's and occasional SVT. It has been good for me....my PVC's are not gone, but they are not as "forceful" and therefore are easier to ignore. The SVT is very infrequent for me in the first place, so I can't say that the metoprolol has had anything to do with the fact that I haven't had any for nearly 1.5 years, but I'm not going to stop the drugs to find out :-).

I have tried other beta blockers including metoprolol. Metoprolol did not agree with me. It actually caused my heartbeat to race, or jump quickly, when I would get exerted. I went back to atenolol 25 mg.

Is there a reason to be taking Lisinopril and Metoprolol at the same time if they are both indicated for hypertension?

I did see some information regarding an interaction between metoprolol and this product, but it pointed to an increase in metoprolol bioavailability, which theoretically shouldn't adversely impact the PVC burden? Anyone have any input or knowledge.. Even similar personal experiences with this?

Metoprolol caused me hair loss....Bystolic has slowed it down somewhat....
