Grapefruit Juice and Medications: A Potential for Adverse Events

In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.

The possible right ventricular hypertrophy was due to a muscle surrounding heart appearing thicker than the average. Anemia was also added to the list. BP medication has been stopped for a trial period, stress test scheduled for this week, all in an effort to get me into Ranger School that will not accept a waiver for BP medication. hello 5 weeks ago i woke up to find my left eye had what i can only describe has a frosty shadow over it i left it for two weeks thinking it was just floaters no change so went to the doctors who gave me a blood pressure test found it was high and put me on felodipine prolonged release tablets 2.
I have been prescribed 10mg of lisinopril, 5mg of felodipine daily and then a few visits to a very enthusiastic GP he has put me on 2x 95mg metoprolol succinate daily because I had a high heart rate in all my readings.
My BP and heart rate now seems to be okay when I get it checked but this seems like a very high dose of metoprolol and I'm getting worried it's going to cause me some damage in the long term.
Since the effects can last for such a prolonged period of time, grapefruit juice does not have to be taken at the same time as the medication in order for the interaction to occur. Therefore, unlike similar interactions, where the interaction can be avoided by separating the administration of the two interacting agents by a couple of hours, administration of grapefruit juice with susceptible drugs should be separated by 24 or more hours to avoid the interaction.
I am active, never sick but use eyedrops for Glaucoma, very slightly elevated blood pressure for which I take a mild 5 mg. Felodipine tab and vytorin for slightly elevated cholestrol. My chol. ratio with meds is 2.3.
The last week I have had a great slowing of my pulse. For three days it didn't get over 42 and on one day if got down as low as 37 and then 38 and stayed there all day. My blood pressure has been about the same as it always is....

I was told recently, (by a new doctor) that I cannot go on with my heart rate so high, (it is not THAT high, up to 150 at the most, sometimes 100 or less, sometimes 120-140 bpm,) so he told me I have to be on medication. He prescribed a beta blocker, but changed it to a calcium channel blocker, and I still have tachycardia. So, what's the point? My heart rate is still high and I am not going to comply since it does not work. I am going to discuss this ASAP with him.

I'm a 38 year old male with a 16 or so year history of "noticeable" PVCs. They weren't particuarly frequent (maybe a few per hour) but annoying. My doctor tried beta blockers (Toprol, Atenolol) and a calcium channel blocker (cardizem), none of which had any effect on my PVCs. ECGs and an echocardiogram were all normal. I eventually learned to live with them and for the most part ignore them.
About a year ago I was experiencing some chest pain so I had a cardiac workup.

It depends on which medication, there are some that are safe. Ive been having issues with it, because ive already taken all the ones that are safe at one point and there are very few that are safe.
