Avatar n tn In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.
Avatar n tn However, since the accidental discovery of an interaction between the calcium channel blocker, felodipine, with grapefruit juice,1 it has now become evident that grapefruit juice has the potential to alter the plasma concentrations of many medications when they are taken by mouth. In some cases, this may result in undesirable clinical effects of medications.

Avatar m tn In 19 study subjects, administration of a single 5 mg dose of amlodipine during treatment with telaprevir (750 mg every 8 hours for 7 days) increased the amlodipine peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) by an average of 27% and 179%, respectively, compared to administration alone. No data are available for boceprevir; however, a similar interaction is expected.
1365078 tn?1284494484 I was tested (fasting blood) for thyroid, RI, fibromygalia, mono, diabetes, etc. Possible Edema, cushings or thyroid - please help me to talk to my DR - I don't know what all of this means as it looks to be in the normal ranges. I had two tests for Thyroid (about 6 weeks apart). I don't know that if along with my symptoms, family history and these results if it is even worth talking to a doctor.
Avatar f tn I am active, never sick but use eyedrops for Glaucoma, very slightly elevated blood pressure for which I take a mild 5 mg. Felodipine tab and vytorin for slightly elevated cholestrol. My chol. ratio with meds is 2.3. The last week I have had a great slowing of my pulse. For three days it didn't get over 42 and on one day if got down as low as 37 and then 38 and stayed there all day. My blood pressure has been about the same as it always is....

Avatar n tn He received 10 mg morphine in the ambulance, then 6 mg dilaudid, 4 mg zofran, and 1 mg ativan in about an hour. He weighs 190 lbs and is 6 feet tall. He suffered cardiopulmonary arrest. Could this combination of drugs have been the culprit? He received narcan and cpr and was resuscitated, thankfully. Some docs believe it was narcotic induced and others say it was a vagel down. Can you explain this?
Avatar f tn Do you take 120 mg per day split up as two 60 mg doses? If you take one 60 mg dose every 12 hours, you are getting on average 60 mg/12 hour = 5 mg of morphine per hour. If you taking 120 mg over a 12 hour period, you are getting on average 120 mg/12 hour = 10 mg of morphine per hour. Take 25% of those morphine mg per hour numbers above and that will yield the bioavailability of morphine (i.e.,how much of the dose in the pill is actually active towards relieving your pain).
733588 tn?1242932059 Hello, Everyone I'm new here. I was diagnosed with BP 5 years ago. In those five years I've been on alot for different medications. Depakote ER worked the best. I was on it for three years or more. Now I'm on Stavzor which is working just as well. My question is for several month I've been back and forth to the doctor for another problem. I've become anemic and they can't find the source of the bleeding or the reason why I'm anemic.
225237 tn?1333138999 I recently started on metformin Er 500 mg at dinner. I have only taken it for for days.....I've been experiencing nausea, indigestion, frequent bowel movements. Avatar f tn My son stopped taking his 1.5 mg of Klonopin 6 days ago. He went to the ER and they said he should be okay now to not take anymore Klonopin. He is still feeling some side effects and could not work today. Does anyone have an idea how long the side effects of withdrawal can last? Is there anything that would help like war baths, drinking loads of water?
541953 tn?1262586226 Hi, Iknow it has been a few years since your post, i was wondering how you are doing on the Opana ER. I am switching from Opana 30 mg ER to Morphine 60 mg ER.The Opana gave me side effects, dizziness, being in withdrawl if I missed a dose, and it did not help my chronic pain.. I have tried many ER drugs and I am having a hard time finding many of them. Plus my breakthrough meds are also hard to find.
