Avatar n tn However, since the accidental discovery of an interaction between the calcium channel blocker, felodipine, with grapefruit juice,1 it has now become evident that grapefruit juice has the potential to alter the plasma concentrations of many medications when they are taken by mouth. In some cases, this may result in undesirable clinical effects of medications.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 due to a 7.5 A1C test. First question: during the last 2.5 months, I have been in pain and stressing from a herniated disc. It was actually the pre-surgery screening that caused the A1C test to occur. On top of that, for 10 days about 6 weeks ago I was on Prednisone. The docs seem to be discounting all that and believe the A1C still to be accurate. At the office, my first reading 2 hours after breakfast was 132.
Avatar n tn In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.
Avatar f tn My doctor just prescribed Ramipril 2.5 mg yesterday because my Microalbumin/Creatinine is 39, which is out of range (reference range is < 30 mcg/mg creatinine I took one cap last night and this morning I felt tired and a little dizzy and I skipped my morning work out. I called my doctor office to ask him, but it's closed. Would you please give me some advice about this medication?
Avatar f tn For the last 8 months I have been on 2.5 mg per day. I saw my endo today and he reported that I am doing fine and should continue with the 2.5 mg. As I read through the forums, I've yet to find anyone on a dosage that small. Is this a standard maintenance dosage?
Avatar m tn In 19 study subjects, administration of a single 5 mg dose of amlodipine during treatment with telaprevir (750 mg every 8 hours for 7 days) increased the amlodipine peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) by an average of 27% and 179%, respectively, compared to administration alone. No data are available for boceprevir; however, a similar interaction is expected.
Avatar n tn My Dr. has prescribed to me Depakote ER 500 mg and my husband has been out of work until recently and our insurance hasn't kicked in and I have not been able to refill my prescribe and have been 6 days with out taking the depakote.
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
Avatar f tn I am very sensitive to anxiety meds and have previously had a bad reaction to 10 mg of Buspar per day and also to 20 mg of Paxil. I wound up in the ER after taking Paxil only once. My doc just prescribed 5mg of Celexa to start and willl titrate upward as indicated and as tolerated. I took my first dose today and the only issue that I have had is a little sleepiness. I think at 2.5 mg of Celexa, it would be quite unlikely (though not impossible) to have a bad reaction (on such a low dose).
Avatar f tn I am active, never sick but use eyedrops for Glaucoma, very slightly elevated blood pressure for which I take a mild 5 mg. Felodipine tab and vytorin for slightly elevated cholestrol. My chol. ratio with meds is 2.3. The last week I have had a great slowing of my pulse. For three days it didn't get over 42 and on one day if got down as low as 37 and then 38 and stayed there all day. My blood pressure has been about the same as it always is....
Avatar n tn   It took me just under 28 weeks to wean off 10 mg per day after taking this dosage for about 4 years.  My withdrawl schedule stepped down from 10 mg to 7.5 mg to 5 mg to 2.5 mg to 0 mg.  I know this was a long withdrawl, especially when compared to other's stories on this forum.  However it still was not a breeze in my experince; rather it made the side effects managable since I have a fairly hectic day-to-day life.  Good luck with making it through your withdrawl and God Bless!
Avatar n tn I am currently taking Doxycycl (100 mg), Phenegran (25 mg), and Lomotil (2.5 mg). None of these have even phased my sickness. I cannot keep anything down that I eat. I have bowel movements that are green and yellow bile with a consistancy of oil and water. My mouth tastes like copper. I know this isn't the stomach flu. I think I am having complications from my surgery. Is this possible? If so, what could be wrong? What can I do?
Avatar f tn I took Lorazepam for 4 months, 2.5 mg/day. A months ago I decided to ween off Lorazepam and started with 0.5 mg. I took 17 days with unpleasant symptoms. When I felt a little better and I cut out 0.25 more so I was on 1.75 mg/day but the symptoms were more difficult, especially restlessness. I went to doc and discussed this and changing to Xanax which I had a good experience with before starting Lorazepam taking only 0.

Avatar n tn He received 10 mg morphine in the ambulance, then 6 mg dilaudid, 4 mg zofran, and 1 mg ativan in about an hour. He weighs 190 lbs and is 6 feet tall. He suffered cardiopulmonary arrest. Could this combination of drugs have been the culprit? He received narcan and cpr and was resuscitated, thankfully. Some docs believe it was narcotic induced and others say it was a vagel down. Can you explain this?
Avatar m tn On Monday I plan on reducing it to 15 mg 3 times a day for another week. Then 10 mg then 5 mg then 2.5 then 2.5 twice a day then 2.5 once a day then none. So far it has not been too bad the cravings start 1- 2 hrs before I can have a dose but I have been able to handle it. Will it get worse or stay about the same.

1116122 tn?1268496794 After a lot of trial-and-error, I landed on a medication combination that finally seemed to provide relief- Zoloft 150 mg and Xanax ER 2 mg (March 09). However, lately my medication hasn't been working as effectively- I find myself feeling exhausted and frustrated quickly at the end of the day, with a compulsion to become reclusive.
Avatar f tn I was trying to wean off Lorazepam but it was very difficult so the doc swiched me to Xanax. I managed to reduce 0.75 mg Lorazepam in 4 weeks (Initially I was taking 2.5 for 4 months) and today I started with Xanax 0.25mg 3 times a day. I used to take Xanax before for axiety, small dosage(0.25) when needed but my previous doctor said that Lorazepam was better. I wasn't for though. Does anybody know of any side effects when changing from Lorazepam to Xanax?
