Avatar n tn In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.

20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar n tn My doctor tried beta blockers (Toprol, Atenolol) and a calcium channel blocker (cardizem), none of which had any effect on my PVCs. ECGs and an echocardiogram were all normal. I eventually learned to live with them and for the most part ignore them. About a year ago I was experiencing some chest pain so I had a cardiac workup. I'm a mild asthmatic (well controlled with Advair) and I thought it may be related to that. A holter, stress test, ECG and echocardiogram all were normal.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 10mg of lisinopril, 5mg of felodipine daily and then a few visits to a very enthusiastic GP he has put me on 2x 95mg metoprolol succinate daily because I had a high heart rate in all my readings. My BP and heart rate now seems to be okay when I get it checked but this seems like a very high dose of metoprolol and I'm getting worried it's going to cause me some damage in the long term.
Avatar m tn First and only EKG report stated a vent rate of 50bpm, PR interval 190ms, QRS duration 102ms, QT/QTC 434/395ms, P-R-T axixs 59 63 23 showing sinus bradycardia, possible right ventricular hypertrophy, moderate voltage criteria for LVH that maybe a normal variant. At age 36 at 155lbs, what does all this mean? Stroke, heartattack, or both? I need the whole report explained.
1365078 tn?1284494484 assigned by my insurance (he saw me for 5 minutes and said I was under stress and would be fine). I paid to see another doctor and spent 40 minutes with her - She at least listened. Family HX of heart disease, throid, depression, diabetes and cancer. Quit smoking in March and gained 30 lbs in 6 weeks went to the doctor to make sure that my smoking wasn't masking something.
16566098 tn?1449575473 Yes. Didn't know much about it earlier so I kept on reading. Still a little trubbled of my TSH 9,1 and don't know really what to do. I feel good so there is nothing to it. Thin as a stick always since my childhood :). Seing iver the years my TSH level have rised since 2004 but T3 and T4 are still the same. It is crazy strange. My antibodies were tpo sk were 56 and compared to 2012 they were 104 but I cut gluten off since 2012. But why the TSH so high? Hm.
Avatar m tn i think the atenolol is causing me some side effects and i have and allergies and it might be making it worse and also want to start taking allergy shots but heard its not a good idea while on beta blockers. im looking for a list or names of a few calcium channel blockers that can also help my symptoms so i can talk to my dr about changing my meds..do calcium channel blockers have less side effects then beta blockers or are they safer?..
Avatar f tn I remember reading something about grapefruit and the new protease inhibitors this months ago and therefore I have steered clear of grapefruit juice while on treatment. VICTRELIS™ (boceprevir) can potentially react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that may interact with VICTRELIS include but are not limited to: P-glycoprotein inhibitors, such as: Grapefruit juice http://hepatitis-c.emedtv.com/victrelis/victrelis-drug-interactions.

1322157 tn?1279656681 Karch says when the system is overloaded, the grapefruit juice can “swamp” the system, keeping the liver busy and blocking it from breaking down drugs and other substances. Drugs that use the same pathway and interact with grapefruit juice target some of the most common health problems doctors see today. The list consists of more than 50 medications, including some drugs used to treat high cholesterol, depression, high blood pressure, cancer, depression, pain, impotence, and allergies.
Avatar n tn My primary care doc and the cardiologist I saw a year ago both think my heart is perfectly fine and suspect the chest pain is likely either related to my asthma or is musculoskeletal in nature. I'm just looking for some insight into the relationship between PVCs and exercise and whether the PVCs are likely significant or indicative of an underlying issue. I'm mildly hypertensive (140/90) and have recently (2 months ago) been prescribed felodipine to control this.
Avatar f tn did you tell your doctor you're late?
Avatar n tn Of these, Free T3 is the most important because Free T3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. (note that Free T3 and T4 are not the same as Total T3 and T4). From just looking at your lab results in light of my experience, I see nothing there to be alarmed about. Your Free T3 is above the midpoint of its range and Free T4 is also within range, though it is in the lower quarter of the range.
2176548 tn?1340677817 However this does not happen in early pregnancy. Also pregnancy cannot be diagnosed based on symptoms only. If periods are missed then a pregnancy test can be taken. Serum HCG levels and an ultrasound scan will help confirmation of pregnancy. Hope this helps.
2006473 tn?1422033301 I learned I had PCOS at a early age, I was 16 (currently 31 yrs old) I had started my periods when I was 11 and then by the age of 16 I had nothing! was put on the pill to regulate but since I wasn't sexually active at the time I forgot to take them all the time. Got back on the pill at 18, went off the pill at 26 (2006). Continued to have a period that first yr off the pill. Then 3 times a year, and then nothing from 2008 - 2009.
Avatar f tn I'm 7 weeks pregnant and contracted a uterus infection and my doctor prescribed me two cycles of 1000mg of azithromycin and I'd love a second opinion!
Avatar f tn I read online that your cervix is very sensitive during pregnancy and its possible my bf irritated, or (to be blunt) went too deep and made me bleed. Like I said, there was no pain or cramps or anything of that nature. I didnt even know I was bleeding. It wasnt alot, but it wasnt a little. Has anybody else had this problem, should I be worried?
