sneeze

Avatar f tn Last fall I noticed many of them sneezing, and they have leaky eyes and now that winter is here they are really coughing and sneezing with eyes and noses that are leaking. I feel so sorry for them and I don't know what they have? I have been giving them lots of warm meals and cleaning their eyes and noses. Thank you.
1232362 tn?1333135406 One more question about my beloved Spirit! First-I think she picked up a kitty cold @ the vet; she started sneezing alot last night-I picked her up the day before yesterday-should I do anything special? She's NOT coughing-I know kennel cough is dangerous; she's just sneezing. No yucky snottums or eye discharge and her appetite is normal.
Avatar f tn Young kittens, especially strays frequently are affected by several viruses that together are called the Feline Upper Respiratory Syndrome. If the infection is already in the recovery phase the sneezing may persist but the kitten is no longer feeling ill. Viruses are generally not treated with specific medications but rather with supportive care, which sometimes includes antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections.
1232362 tn?1333135406 My cats have upper respiratory infections (being spread amongst themselves by violent sneezing despite my best efforts) and I'm wondering if I can pick this up from them. I have asthma and am prone to these infections myself and have had both walking and regular pneumonia a few times. I'm taking all the regular precautions: washing my hands, etc.

3170462 tn?1344717552 Three years ago, my husband and I adopted two cats. They're brothers, Alvin and Simon, and were a year old when we got them. Before they came to our home, they lived with a friend who runs a Second Chance operation from her home. She found them as kittens (mum was killed by a possum) and weaned them. Both cats were well treated. When we first took them, our friend mentioned that Alvin had started sneezing. We didn't think anything of it. Cats sneeze.
Avatar f tn My 7 year old Female cat has been sneezing on and off for 2 weeks, and has had one watery eye for two days. She is currently on clavamox. There are no other symptoms. She eats and plays normally and is up to date on all vaccines. The vet did a complete blood work and only found the cats white blood cell count to be slightly elevated and her lungs sound clear. She displays no other symptoms. What could this be?
Avatar n tn The vets were stumped at what the bumps could be and we spent almost $1000 is tests, with no results. The bumps went away as did the other health issues His fur became silky and shiny. He has had perfect health up until about two weeks ago. It started with his left eye squinting, and then big globs of discharge started to leak out. At one time my dad said it was a pink color.
Avatar n tn She is no even a year old and has had no health problems until recently, she has been having discharge from her vaginal area. I took her to the vet and the vet didnt really explain anything about it to me. I dont know why she is having this discharge and i dont know what it does to my cat and how i can prevent it. She threw up this morning which makes me think that there could be something else wrong.. i would really appreciate it if i could get some feed back on this.
Avatar n tn but your cat should be tested for these other common diseases. Feline infectious peritonitis, and Feline immunodeficiency are viral infection have no cures but can helped by boosting the immune system. Toxoplasmosis, Cryptococcis, and Bartonella can be treated with the appropriate medications.
Avatar m tn I have a 7 mo old shelter cat who has been examined no less than four times now, by two different vets, for a cloudy area in his eye that has presented recurring issues. He was examined under anesthesia and the pronouncement was congenital corneal adhesion. The problem is that the adhesion seems to want to chronically ulcerate, sometimes seemingly painful with clear tears & a thick mucus, on other occasions with a dark brown discharge.
Avatar n tn 2 days ago I found 2 kittens about 2 or 3 months old and they have something wrong with their eyes. They're constantly draining a yellowish sticky gooey fluid. The one is worse than the other. For the past 2 days I have been wiping them with a warm cloth and using a eye cleanser I got from fleet farm but they don't seem to be getting any better. Being a single mother I don't have a lot of money for a very.
152660 tn?1291755571 I have a 7 mo kitten who I got at 4 months old in December. He was a bottle baby from 2 days old. In the time since I got him his eyes (one at a time and both) have swelled up, shut and watered repeatedly. It will be like that for about 2 days and then stop watering and open back up. Probably 6 times so far. I know one time he jumped into the litter box when another kitty was there and got litter flicked in his face. But other than that I have no idea what it could be.
Avatar f tn two days ago he became very lethargic and is dry heaving, sneezing and coughing up a small amount of clear saliva, also eating very little. Im not sure if he ate something he wasn't supposed to or if he has an upper respitory infection or the flu,,,,please help!!
391201 tn?1201055111 I just got a kitten and some one said that it looked like it might have Feline Down's syndrome, she has more rounded pupils and over sized ears. She seems to act normal but was the smallest of the littter. If she does is there any concerns i should have for her future well being?
788225 tn?1282489826 We had a cat who would have been 25 yrs old this year and he had no teeth either but he was able to eat dry food. The vet told us that often cats with no teeth or bad teeth just swallow their food. Not sure if what the vet said is true for all cats but there is a cat food called a/d by Hills that is quite soft and easy to digest. But it's expensive. Maybe some of that gourmet cat food would help Miss B to eat.
72351 tn?1281992542 Kittens with this disease can become very dehydrated, which can cause death. Other causes are of course Feline leukemia, and Feline Aids. Young kittens can outgrow these diseases with the proper symptomatic treatment, but sometimes the ataxia is permanent, but does not affect their quality of life.
18102302 tn?1463344145 My cat has a chronic inflammation of the sinus cavity and has been going on for several years. She is constantly full of green discharge. It is never clear or bloody. I am not even sure how she got it. I also had a Red Heeler dog who had the same issue but she has since passed. I have been told to just give her a type of steroid but was wondering if there was any way to get rid of it permanently or what is the best thing to do to give her some relief? Thank you for any input.
203342 tn?1328737207 You know, April, my vet never once mentioned testing for herpes either, even seeing Jade's eyes at her very worst ever back in July didn't instigate the suggestion of testing for herpes. The request came from ME after doing some research. After Jade came up positive, my vet said the same thing yours did...that most cats have this. I'm thinking, then why didn't you test Jade 3yrs ago instead of all this fiddling around?
Avatar f tn I actually am having something similar but it's not pee , it's like a discharge n it's very uncomfortable , i read that kegel exercise helps
Avatar n tn my cat was just diagnosed with multiple myleoma - if you love your cat take him to West Chester Vet oncology research center in Pennsylvania - they are the best in the country
Avatar m tn He was clearly starved, had difficulty moving, wheezed every breath, and had some form of discharge from his nose and eyes. I have taken careful care of him in the time i have had him and he has gained alot of weight and is the most affectionate cat i have ever seen. For some reason though, he still has some mucus-like discharge from his eyes and nose at times, a wheezing breath, and he is incapable of actually meowing (he looks at people and moves his mouth but only makes a wheezeing sound)...
Avatar f tn My 2 year old russian blue cat, Oggy, has very swollen lymph nodes in his neck and rear legs. He is otherwise healthy with no other symptons. My vet aspirated the nodes which showed no sign of lymphoma or infection. A blood test was negative for feline aids, leukeamia, and his white blood count was normal. There was a slight elevation in liver enzymes. My vet does not know what it is and that we will just watch him for the moment.
Avatar f tn Have you tried a feline probiotic? I have used Feline Dophilus, which is made by Natren, for my cat who has had various skin allergies, and it helped a lot. It also helped with her constipation, vomiting, and diarrhea. You can give it to your cat every day for three days, then every other day for a week or so, then cut back gradually to twice a week for maintenance. It is worth a try, and can't really hurt, since it is non-invasive for your kitty.
