1183666 tn?1274275146 So, JESSiCA, we meet again! I'm glad to hear you're involved with a partner and a project, but I do understand your fear of public speaking. I'm positive the vast majority of us would rather streak through Wal Mart than get up in front of a group of people. (Would anybody notice us in Wal Mart? Somehow I think we'd just "blend!") I suppose there are a number of things you could try before it was your turn to be on stage.
538680 tn?1213734792 At the last school he attended he became ths MC of all programs. I do not want to rid him of his public speaking skills and confidence. I asked him why were you talking his reply was because he was done working and had nothing to do. I ask (lbenites ) who is responsible for his work load in school? Would that be me as well? The teacher and I have discussed this and she seems to be coping.
Avatar f tn Everytime when i had to get up in class i couldnt barely talk, shaking, couldnt breathe, questioned everything, couldnt think straight, forgot what i was gonna say, etc and its still the same in some ways its always triggered like when i have to ge in fromt of people, have to talk to people, walking down crowded halls, etc and it worries me cause idk if its anxiety or if its something worse what is it?
Avatar f tn Can you give more information? Are you just nervous? What kind of class? Part of speaking before a class is to get practice so you'll learn to do it well and not be nervous the next time. I think we need more information because to see if you really even want to take a powerful drug to get through a class.
Avatar f tn Then he put on a condom, before he could get the head of his penis good inside of me i asked him to stop. The next day i asked my did he have anything and he got very offended. Avatar m tn Trump destroys what the "the establishment" Republican Party is all about, so I'm ALL FOR HIM. This country has been trying the same thing, over & over & over, for the last 60-years... and look where it's gotten us, and WHO it's gotten us. Of course, none of you really like him, and that's okay. That's what makes this country mediocre...
Avatar m tn Mine was a little nicer :)
Avatar m tn As BeeFree stated, it is very normal to feel anxious when we have to speak in front of a group of strangers. I'm sure that most people feel anxiety to some extent when put in that position. There are self-help books available that will teach you many tips and tricks to deal with this anxiety. If possible, take a Public Speaking class.........I did and it was the best thing I'd done for myself at that time.
Avatar f tn I hace a fear of breastfeeding. I watched my mom really struggle with it and now it's given me anxiety. She never made very much milk and it stressed her out like crazy. I want to try it but every time I really entertain the thought i get nervous. Has anyone had a very good experience with it ?
5274485 tn?1385860167 I'm speaking of the fact that being Autistic in girls may show itself much differently than for males. Autism is a complex condition, and more observation is needed, because somehow, Autism in girls is not well-known as of right now. There ARE plenty of girls and women that have Autism, you know? I happen to actually know one: she goes under the name Joanne.
Avatar m tn HIV is neither "dead" nor "alive". It is either active (when it is INSIDE the body), or INACTIVE (when it is outside of the body, exposed to the elements). Sexually speaking, only unprotected anal or vaginal sex is a risk for HIV. Exposure to genital secretions in any situation NOT during the above mentioned insertive sex without a condom is NOT a risk for HIV. That includes oral sex, mutual mastrubation, frottage (rubbing), etc. You have nothing to worry about.
696149 tn?1314320959 Well, I spoke of it a few days ago......that is getting off the Vicodin and I just took the last 4 I had. I am terrified of what I'm probably going to face. Usually when you fear something, the bark is worse than it's bite, but in this case, the bark is just as bad as the bite, if not worse. Still, all I have to do is get through 1 week.
Avatar f tn I have a fear of public speaking and a stage/performance fear when I speak in front of new people or students of my class. A few of my classes require that I give powerpoint presentations in front of the class. When I am on the spot, my voice and hands become shaky - I sometimes lose concentration to the point that I cannot get words out of my mouth even though I go in front of the class very well prepared. One time, I embarrased myself so bad that I decided that I NEED HELP.
Avatar f tn s not them up there, because many have a fear of speaking in front of others as well. People will be paying more attention to what you are saying than the redness. Do a great job on your speaking, and this is what they will remember. Also, think about visiting a local hospital where teens & children are battling serious conditions, some are dying, some disfigured, it will put all this in perspective for you, and make you thankful that turning red is all you have to deal with.
Avatar f tn I express no opinion on the subject but I did find this interesting. "Glossolalia is commonly called "speaking in tongues". For other uses of "speaking in tongues", see Speaking in Tongues (disambiguation)." "...Aside from Christians, other religious groups also have been observed to practice some form of theopneustic glossolalia. It is perhaps most commonly in Paganism, Shamanism, and other mediumistic religious practices.
Avatar f tn The DH of a dear friend passed away this week. In addition to mourning, she's been searching in vain for his birth certificate & their marriage license. She had to order docs through the state capital, for an unreasonable amount of money. I know it's unreasonable, because it's been privatized, and I luckily got my documents before that process was complete. (I had to get official docs to apply for Italian citizenship; they were mostly $5).
1216899 tn?1288570325 There have been a lot of questions and posts lately about Optic Neuritis, I have a few questions of my own. I had an MRI last week and am going in for an evoked potentials test tomorrow, for ON. I was wondering what ON feels like to some of you, as I am curious. My symptoms really are noticeable when I get warmed up. To me, my eye feels like it is under some pressure. It hurts to move it back and forth, and I can not quiet look all the way to the left.
9941879 tn?1406844458 First thing is to stay positive and pray all is well. Start speaking life into your children's life and in your life. Stop thinking negative is the second step. Read proverbs 3:5-7 and put all your trust in the Lord, ask God to remove fear out your heart in Jesus name and cast down all negative thoughts.
7163794 tn?1457366813 Glad it went well, I have told my story a few times, very scary I do behind the walls at a work relies program, I have a big fear of speaking in meetings, last time I was asked to do it I said yes, chickened out and scheduled my neck surgery a week before to get out of it, I have 13 years, thank you for being strong and sharing that, it inspired me.
1616038 tn?1315954103 I can relate to the fear of them. I was diagnosed with 4,000 plus in 24 hours and recently I was on here scared to death because I had a few hours of 25-30 per Minute! That was really really scary for me, but as you can see I am still here. (thank you Lord). A few months ago I was in the hospital having 15 a minute and they didnt flinch--in fact the doc said "dont worry about it".
Avatar f tn Then he will be at home with a sitter instead of school. I am so upset. My son does not want to go into class and has started crying in the morning when I leave and when the shadow leaves. Please some advice.
20907989 tn?1619515060 The covid pandemic has also affected a good percentage of the mental health of our youth in many ways. In your opinion what are the major causes of depression in the youth during these covid stricken days?
Avatar f tn I'm 30 and afraid of the dark. Welcome to the club. Fears never leave us, sadly. It sounds like bad news, but we can learn to manage them. I've been diagnosed with sever anxiety, GAD, panic, and depression. I'm not on meds. I manage it. I don't recommend this as the path for you/everyone, I'm just putting it out there to say: I know where you're at. The thing is, I've friends who're famous musicians, and terrified of performing.
2034766 tn?1329496529 Some kids will not poop at school. Not surprising, considering how many adults won't have bowel movements in public restrooms either! This can simply be the result of a subtle shift in his "time of day." If he used to have bm's in the afternoon or evening and now all of a sudden it is coming during school hours, this could be the cause of this. It sounds like the teacher is being good about providing gentle reminders.
