Avatar f tn I am just wondering, I have noticed there are alot of people seeing spiders in their sleep. Do some of you have a fear of spiders? I have a terrible fear of mice and I feel them in my bed sometimes, often waking up kicking and there is nothing. I wonder if this has something to do with things that we fear most. I also have woke up to people standing over me and feel as if I am wide awake.
Avatar n tn Ok I have a red tail boa and I feed him mice. I'm about a month pregnant and was wondering if its ok to handle the mice and clean out their tank? Thank you.

424549 tn?1308515502 I have the same fear or phobia of spiders. I can go completly out of my mind at just the sight of one, be it small or ehhhhhhhh. I can't even talk about it. Anyway, I was told that I would have to let one walk up my arm and feel there leg's on my skin. RIGHT.. I think I'll carry this fear to my grave.
Avatar f tn It is now known to be one of the most potent hepatotoxins The study demonstrates that capsaicin partially improved liver damage in the BDL mice and inhibited further progression of the injury. In the second group of CCl4-treated mice, capsaicin prevented livers from injury development but did not reduce the fibrosis when it was already established. These results support the need for further investigation into capsaicin for the treatment and prevention of liver injury and fibrosis.
Avatar m tn To examine Hoxb8’s effect, the researchers injected bone marrow from mice with mutant Hoxb8 mice into healthy mice. The healthy mice began licking themselves compulsively, pulling out their fur and creating sores. In turn, the researchers injected the mutant mice with healthy bone marrow, and these mice became non-obsessive.
1130586 tn?1316266292 As part of the PANACEA (for Pharmacological Augmentation of Nonspecific Anti-pathogen Cellular Enzymes and Activities) project, researchers from MIT Lincoln Laboratory have developed and demonstrated a novel broad-spectrum antiviral approach, called DRACO (for Double-stranded RNA [dsRNA] Activated Caspase Oligomerizer). DRACO selectively induces apoptosis, or cell suicide, in cells containing any viral dsRNA, rapidly killing infected cells without harming uninfected cells.
Avatar n tn Depends on what type of mice ya got. I like the little grey fuzzy ones, just put 'em in there and let them go to work! (Sorry, couldn't resist...I love typos!) Seriously, the best way to take care of it is take him to a vet to get "the shot". It works much better than the over the counter, that are mesy and take many tries, usually.
Avatar m tn I live in the country and we have a perpetual problem with house mice around here. We caught about a dozen in our last round of trapping (yuck, I know) and I just heard squeaking again so it wouldn't surprise me to discover that despite our best efforts, we've got another litter. The cold weather always sends them looking for shelter this time of year. Other than hantavirus and general irrititation, should I be concerned?

Avatar f tn m sorry I have no personal experience with this, and there are really no human studies because of the potential of birth defects. The best I could find is the effects on germ cells in mice. maybe your husband could have a sperm analysis to check the health of his sperm? Abstract Methotrexate (MTX) is an anti-metabolite drug widely used in the treatment of neoplastic disorders, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
Avatar m tn Ovariectomy and estrogen supplementation were used to evaluate the effect of estrogen on HBV titers in transgenic mice with replicating HBV in hepatocytes. The effect of estrogen signaling on transcription of HBV genes, and the mechanisms of regulation, were studied in HepG2 cells. RESULTS: HBV titers increased in female mice after ovariectomy and decreased in male mice supplemented with estrogen. Hepatic expression of estrogen receptor (ER)? was increased by estrogen exposure.

1085681 tn?1280176627 From what I hear the problem is usually bigger than it looks- we left that place 10 years ago but the thought of mice still gives me the shivers. I have a plug in item that is suppose to send out a signal to chase away rodents. Safe around other animals...not sure if it does what it says but we haven't ever had a mouse problem since that exterminator 11 years ago.
599170 tn?1300973893 [3] The Compact Oxford English Dictionary (third edition) and the fourth edition of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language endorse both computer mice and computer mouses as correct plural forms for computer mouse. Some authors of technical documents may prefer either mouse devices or the more generic pointing devices. The plural mouses treats mouse as a "headless noun.
1981227 tn?1336328438 He added a sugar called GlcNAc to the diet of experimental MS exhibiting mice. These mice seem to have a more RRMS phenotype. He found when he added this sugar to the diet that there was a reduction in relapses!! He did may over experiments too that can be read about in the article linked below. How great would that be for a treatment?? Extra sugar in your coffee??? This was very exciting to me! 1.A. Grigorian, L. Araujo, N. N. Naidu, D. Place, B. Choudhury, M. Demetriou.
Avatar m tn We previously demonstrated prevention of de novo HBV infection by pre-treating uPA mice with Myrcludex-B, a lipopeptide derived from the preS1 domain of the HBV envelope (Nat. Biotech.2008). Aim of this study was to investigate the ability of this HBV entry inhibitor to block viral spreading post-infection, at a time when viremia is already detectable but only few human hepatocytes are infected.
595125 tn?1219834270 What you descrive is a panic attack when you have this intense fear, then you become afraid of the fear and so on until it becomes a vicious circle. You came to the right place! 2095738 tn?1339825243 I guess I have it in my head something is going to happen around 30/32wks. I don't know if it's going to be early labor, admitted for something or just something in general, but I can't stop thinking these boys are gna try to make a break for it very early.
Avatar n tn I noticed at the end of the day that i had these baby mice all over the bottom of my boat. I must of had a mice nest in my boat and the babies must have crawled out of the various benches. My main concern is that i was exposed to rabies from possible contact with these baby mice that were all over the place. When i got to land, i flipped the boat, and noticed the mothers tail come through the bench.
3191940 tn?1447268717 That's an interesting article! First, I did not know mice got Alzheimer's. Do you think they know they are mice when they do? How do they know the mice have Alzheimer's? Okay, I'll stop. But really, how fantastic would that be to have a preventative measure for this debilitating health issue? Heck ya I'd take that vaccine! The article didn't say how long until it will be tested on humans. I hope the benefit they see in mice carries over. I'm all for it!

Avatar m tn Vaccination of HBVtg animals induced potent HBsAg- and HBcAg-specific CD8+ T-cell responses in spleens and HBcAg-specific CD8+ T-cell responses in livers as well as anti-HBs seroconversion two weeks post injection. Vaccination further reduced HBcAg expression in livers of HBVtg mice without causing liver damage. In summary, this study demonstrates therapeutic efficacy of a novel vaccine formulation in a mouse model of immunotolerant, chronic HBV infection.
Avatar m tn s disease (I told you, these little fellas have it tough). They then gave these mice doses of nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3 found in many foods, including chicken, fish, pork, peanuts, sunflower seeds and turkey, to see if there was any improvement. The results were nothing short of amazing. The mice with Alzheimer's saw their memory improve, but get this – even the mice who didn't have Alzheimer's got a cognitive boost.
1763947 tn?1334055319 I saw a study done where they infected mice with two species of Borrelia. I think it was b.burgdorferi and b.garinii. They found that those mice were sicker than the other mice with just one or the other, even though the overall spirochete load was actually lower in the dual infected mice. They were theorizing that there might be some kind of competition between the two variations that somehow made their affect on the body worse.
