Avatar m tn Day time is manageable and driving is not too difficult ,but at night driving can be hard due to the reflection and street light changing causing flickering and heat waves to appear on the road or on the dash board from the image, does anybody know why this is?

Avatar f tn Idk. I just can't think of anyother way to get the fear to stop. I've tried twice before and it just won't go away. I have anxiety and stress disorder and this is really making me sick.
Avatar m tn I noticed last night when I was driving long rays coming street lights and from back of car lights. Could it be windshield was dirty that was causing this? I noticed when I stick my head out the window I did not notice the rays any more My vision is -1.50 in both eyes.
Avatar f tn need I say more? The fear of being stuck in traffic and suddenly needing to go is a real fear based on a real problem. Generally I prepare for trips, and if shopping, make it a focused shop. No more aimless driving. I have to have a plan and stick to it. Same in stores: meandering around in a hugh store is sure to bring on panic. So again I now plan and stick to it. One department for shoes. No checking out several stores or departments.
1074864 tn?1256932915 You are not actually fearful of driving or travelling itself, but rather the fear of losing control if you have another panic attack. This is because when we have a panic attack, the first thing we want to do is to retreat to our "safe place", which for most people is our home. The further away from our comfort zone, the more uncomfortable we feel.
Avatar n tn If your oxygen levels are going down too low and too often at night, it would explain many of your symptoms. A sleep study might be needed. You can actually buy a pulse oxymeter for around a hundred bucks, that will record your O2 levels while you sleep, and then you can load them onto the computer, and print a report. Your doctor might pay more attention to you then.

Avatar f tn It's been about 3 years since I had cataract surgery on both eyes. I had a lot of problems following the surgery, most of which have since resolved. The one distressing problem that remains to this day is difficulty driving at night. I'm pretty much blinded by any oncoming headlights and the glare from streetlights, etc. I've heard of night driving problems with the multifocal lenses but I had monofocal lenses put in and thought this glare problem would disappear with time.
Avatar n tn Since that time my daughter is deftly afraid of being alone in the house at night. She is heading off to college in the fall and her anxiety is getting worse and worse. Before this event she applied for honors housing (alone) and received it. She wants to get a roommate now but the college says it is too late. I would really appreciate some new ideas besides the ones I have tried already.
Avatar f tn I have vertical lines going through all the lights I see. When I meet other traffic at night, it basically blinds me with all the lines. I usually close my eye and continue driving with the right eye only. From reading some of the other posts it sounds like I need to go back to the Dr. that did the surgery. I hadn't been doing enough night driving to realize how bad it was till lately. Go back to the eye Doc?
8377023 tn?1399509160 My biggest fear out of everything is my water breaking while driving their car. I am absolutely terrified that this is going to happen. I have already gotten contractions while driving with one of the twins, thankfully the contractions weren't crazy bad, and this happened today. I dont know what to do besides calling their aunt, Chris, my mom and my doctor. Like what should I tell their aunt if that happens? To just meet me at the hospital or what?
Avatar f tn My husband has had lots of arm and leg twitching at night. It used to be occasional, but, it has been every night for a few months and seems to begin once he is relaxed and continues when he falls asleep, I don't know if it continues throughout the night. It is quite a lot of twitching and is really starting to worry me. He also seems to be unaware of it when it happens.
Avatar m tn I have OCD with fear of Hep C and HIV infection. I recently went out to a bar. I bumped into a guy (I'm a guy) it was a "straight" bar. I said sorry, he said "no reason to be sorry, just watch out" Then I walked by. Then he said "Who does your hair?" I know my hair looks sort of funny, since I comb it different trying to hide my receding hairline (I'm 46). I turn around, walk back a stare him in the eye and ask, is there a problem? He says "no".
4433614 tn?1354515880 how do get over of being so scared of life, when driving I am afraid of car accidents or going to the movies i cant enjoy I am looking every but the movie playing, my mind really dose not shut off at night i stay awake and listen to Everything around me tell I pass out. Avatar n tn I too struggle with panic attacks and the fear of them returning. Have you talked to your dr about this? You might want to consider talking with a therapist. I do know that if you let the fear take over your mind it is only going to get worse. The best advice I can give you is to talk to someone and try to face the fear. Get back in your car and go for a drive even if it is only around the block. Each time you do it it will get easier. You have to take your control back.
1778927 tn?1381878747 Over the past two weeks I have noticed a purple hue when driving at night. It seems to come from car lights and is a deep purple color. During the day I will notice fleeting light purple dots off in my peripheral vision as well. Is this a normal side affect of CSR or laser therapy? I had the laser about 4 months ago. Will it ever go away?

1785438 tn?1314987935 It helps some, but I am still housebound at this point. Some days are better than others, but I still have such a fear of trying to go anywhere or even just drive around that it keeps me inside. Even taking out the garbage has been such a hassle for me. A major problem with me is the driving, though. I can imagine that while I get to certain points that I don't like on my travels, that I will go through a major panic attack.
Avatar n tn I only know of an antiglare coating. However, I do not do glasses. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn Have you heard of iZon glasses? Are they effective to improve night vision?
Avatar f tn m becoming housebound because of my fear of driving. I just got on my husbands insurance and am thinking of going to the doctor. Though, I'm afraid it's not anxiety and it will not be diagnosed easily. I just want this to be over. I want to be normal!
