Avatar f tn Is a Full Blood Count able to pick up many of those weight-related medical conditions? Or at least indicate that more testing may be needed? My GP ordered a FBC and was checking for potential iron deficiency. For fatigue. I feel my increased weight is affecting my health. I run the differential but wonder if the symptoms are all mutually exclusive. I have been turning blue and have had a sore calf, etc.
Avatar n tn Hi guys.I have HIV anxiety from fear that I might touch blood from environmental surfaces and touch eyes or rub nose. I always check on objects if they have blood or redness.Someone might notices my strange behavior. Moreover I took hiv tests like 20 times! All the tests didn't come from real risk like unprotected sex but often come from various anxieties and one of those is touching objects with blood.
Avatar f tn I took along the last 2 sets of blood test I had done. He noticed my TSH had went down and thought it could be my thyroid and ordered more blood test. I was really impressed that he wasn't just pushing pills down me. He did put me on Pristiq ( a new Effexor) until we get through all the test back and see if it is my thyroid. My TSH and my T4 continue to go down. I got all my labs from 2005 through yesterday and they went down every test.
Avatar f tn I used to have this fear as well and went to many doctor visits, Cat scans, blood tests, etc. Basically what it boiled down to was stress, the fear of MS totally consumed me and I would have anxiety attacks which would cause numbing, some leg pain, etc. It's amazing what stress can do to the body, especially physically! I ended up getting it under control by going to acupuncture and taking relaxation yoga and generally just being healthy.
Avatar m tn Hi there. Causes of generalized muscle twitches could be dehydration, fatigue, exercise, dietary deficiency, overuse of caffeine, drug abuse of steroids, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscle atrophy, weak muscles or myopathy. Paraesthesia or tingling is caused by nerve damage or disease.
2022648 tn?1328711666 Hello, this is my first time on this forum. I just wanted to see if anyone is having or has had some of the same problems. Five weeks ago I started a 48 week treatment for hep b with 180 mg Pegasys. The nurse gave me my first injection in my arm which hurt for two weeks. Since then, I've alternated the injection sites. Twice in my thighs and twice in my belly. I have these big, round, red rashes with bruises in the middle. They just seem to be getting worse.
Avatar m tn I have been taking medication and have seen both a psychiatist and psycologist. My OCD started with fear of acquiring HIV from blood left on inanimated objects like door knobs, door handles, elevator buttons etc and then accidently picking my nose or rubbing my eyes. I went for multiple HIV tests and all were negative. Now the fear is mostly about Hep C and not HIV. About 2 weeks ago as I was going down the subway station I opened the door to the subway and feel something wet on my thumb.
Avatar f tn Has any of you ever been told that either your baby is younger and you have the wrong due date or that it just stopped growing period???
Avatar f tn There is definitely a lot of health anxiety and around the area of contracting HIV. I wonder why. We know so much about HIV now. How it is transmitted, that it is treatable and that dying of HIV is not that likely anymore. I wonder if it sometimes comes from shame and guilt for the sexual encounters people have had. But it definitely turns into a cycle of anxiety that ruins people's ability to function, I've noticed.

Avatar m tn It's transmitted via blood to blood contact (sharing needles and associated accouterments for IV drug use, sharing straws or any other device for snorting drugs if there's open wounds in each individual, needle sticks for people in the medical profession can be exposed, obviously, if you have an open wound and an HCV infected person's blood comes in contact with your wound, there's a risk.
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with an irrational fear of HIV for around 10 years. While going through tests for something unrelated, my consultant in a very matter of fact, blasé way asked if I'd ever had a HIV test. This set off an absolute fear in me that I still struggle with. The test was negative and subsequent routine tests during my pregnancies have also been negative. I'm not a drug user and have been in a monogamous marriage for 15 years.
Avatar n tn i got my 12 weeks rapid blood test negative, still have some fear, because, after 33 days of exposure my back tooth with a huge amalgam filling broke in two parts and i think that therefore my immunsystem was surpressed, since then i am feeling this metallic taste in my mouth and i did not go to the dentist. so, i am not sure , if this has an impact on my antibody production....................any opinions on that?
Avatar m tn I am a 28 year old male, healthy other than being somewhat overweight. Last week I let a man give me oral sex after having some drinks. I gave him oral sex as well, for about 30 seconds before I realized what I was doing. I have been married for 8 years and have 3 kids. It hit me like a ton of bricks, so I stopped. He then continued to masturbate himself, after which he took a shower and left.
Avatar n tn i am 20 years old with a 16 month old baby girl and not in anyway ready to have another. it has been 30 days since my husband and i had intercourse, i have taken 6 pregnancy tests 2 of which were at the doctors office all of them came out negative. we barely did anything because of the fear of becoming pregnant and he pulled out long before he was about to ejaculate. i had my period on august 26th and it was pretty heavy. all the tests say negative so im not pregnant right?

Avatar f tn I had given my blood sample for HIV test a month ago. The tests came out negative and the doctor confirmed I am perfectly fine. However I have gotten myself into a doubt and fear that somehow the nurse has used an infected syringe. Actually the nurse used a syringe which was kept ready to use on the table instead of picking up one from the lot.I remember another nurse picking this syringe from the lot. I also observed that syringe had the cap on it before the nurse used it on me.
Avatar f tn When you form longterm relationships, your partner(s) can be tested to see if they already have positive blood tests for HSV-1, in which case no problem -- those people are immune to catching it again. Finally, if and when you ever are pregnant, make sure your ObG is aware of this history, to assure precautions to prevent neonatal herpes. The risk is low, but not zero and icommon sense precauations are, well, common sense. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I can only speak for my own self but I try not to avoid. I had HIV Anxiety as well at one point and I ended up sitting in an AIDS clinic waiting room on my lunch hour for several weeks to help get over it. We cannot control everything in our lives. The sooner a person with OCD gets that into their head the better. I don't avoid situations. I give blood all the time and of course I'm HIV negative. You are right in that you cannot get HIV from donating blood.
