I had given my blood sample for HIV test a month ago. The tests came out negative and the doctor confirmed I am perfectly fine. However I have gotten myself into a doubt and fear that somehow the nurse has used an infected syringe. Actually the nurse used a syringe which was kept ready to use on the table instead of picking up one from the lot.I remember another nurse picking this syringe from the lot. I also observed that syringe had the cap on it before the nurse used it on me.
I took the ART for consecutive three days because of fear of progression of my deasses. After taking three days of ART I gave a Gap of one day and then I took a PCR RNA test from the reputed Lab of New Delhi. After 24 Hrs I received the result and it came back that the sample does not contain HIV-1 RNA. Now I got confused and stop the ART. I don't know that whether the 2nd PCR test came negative because of taking three days of ART as the first PCR test at mumbai gave only 225 copies/ml.
You do not have HIV, trust your test report and move on with your life. If you did not have any exposure in last three months from the date of your test, the result is 100% conclusive and final.
and western blot came negative. He took my blood sample on 3rd of April and sent the sample from New Delhi to Mumbai . The Lab in mumbai received the sample on 5th of April 9.00 Am and the result was concluded with 225 copies/ml at 7.00 PM at the same day. Then the doctor told me that this is a weak HIV positive and You have to start ART. He then gave me ART(Treever - mixture of three ART). It was at 46th day post exposure. I took one tab.
He took one of those needles and performed venipuncture. Now, I fear that what if the needle was not new and he took my blood sample using that needle? Because the needles were already out of the packet and were kept in that container. What to do?
P.S. He did throw the needle after taking the sample.

They given the report HIV1 And HIV2 Non Reactive they done test bye using tri dot method doctor tells that tri dot is best method for hiv . after one week i personally went to blood center they done test by using tri dot method is non reactive. In November I am going to marry.

thanks, my situation is when i placed to draw blood the table contain hand starper, needle holder,bottom opened multi sample needle with cap on the head of the needle, nurse came with vaccum blood collecting tube and the place the needle in the holder and draw my blood, after she draw remove the blood collecting tube and put the cap on the needle and remove the needle from the holder and place it in the table and go back to give the blood collecting tube to lab, it look like the same when i ente
so while i was on my way home..the bandage where the blood sample was taken(right arm) fell off because it was hot and i was sweating...so area where they got the blood sample was exposed wihout me knowing it...i know its a small area where they inserted the needle....it was exposed to the world without the bandage...
do u think its a risk for hiv knowing that after getting the blood sample from my arm the bandage fell off without me realizing it? do i need to get RETESTED again??
I understand these home rapid test kits has the HIV antigen embedded in the capture pad, which then will react if the blood sample is followed by the diluent and an HIV antibody was found in the blood specimen.
