390388 tn?1279636213 I hit the button to fast to post. On the FDA site they have a place where you can be notified of any recalls listed; "after the dog food recalls" I had put my email address in to be notified of any updated recalls and never got off the list. Its hard to believe all the things that get recalled and never brought to attention to the people. It's free for anyone to get on. Just thought I would pass it along.
Avatar f tn Hi, I don't know the answer to your question but I understand because I just went from Paxil to Lexapro and am feeling miserable. I think it's due to Paxil withdrawel and the Lexapro doesn't seem to be working for me. Have you ever gone from one antidepressant to another?
Avatar f tn t know if they still are but earlier the website was having technical issues and it was saying that ANY lot number you put in was not part of the recall. I followed the link on the main recall page that gives you a pdf of ALL lot numbers that are part of it just to be safe because we use Similac too. The can I've been using isn't listed but I'm still scared to use it.

Avatar m tn I am starting up Paxil for a second time (first time was in 2003) and I recall having trouble with staying asleep the first time around when first starting up. It certainly is the problem now. I have just finished the second week on 10mg and I can fall asleep easily with 5mg or 10mg Ambien, but I now wake with a start in just a few hours, then I can't get back to sleep for the night. Very frustrating and exhausting. Is this the norm? How long will it last??
Avatar n tn What is the long term effects from being on Paxil, say ten to twenty years. Has there ever been a study?
Avatar f tn Okay, first, did you taper off Paxil first? Or did they cut you off cold turkey? Paxil is one of the most difficult medications to stop taking. Switching you abruptly from one med to another will not prevent the withdrawal from the first med, and all the symptoms you've described are classic Paxil withdrawal symptoms. Maybe you did taper off slowly, but you don't say so here.
Avatar f tn I'm never gonna take another Paxil again! This drug is trash and the FDA should stop it from being sold. Made me so sick I had to leave work today. Still not feeling right, headache and anxiety. Fortunatelly, the half life elimination process is about 16-24 hr so tomorrow should be better.
Avatar f tn I've had friends switch to Zoloft from Paxil, but not vice versa. I believe Paxil is a milder AD with fewer side effects. I was on Paxil a while ago. It took about a month for it to set in, but it worked really well for me. And my friend who is on AD currently. I wouldn't imagine it should be too difficult, because they're working on the same issue, but you may experience some hiccups as the transition takes place.
Avatar f tn I started out taking 20 mg of paxil and ended up on 40 mg of paxil CR. All together, I took paxil for 6 years. I decided to stop taking it because it kept me from concentrating and memorizing which is vital since I am in college to be a school teacher. In addition, I gained so much weight due to the medicine. My doctor helped me get off of the paxil which was a horrible experience that I never want to repeat again! Now my anxiety has come back and it is becoming worse.
577118 tn?1233250750 I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.
94902 tn?1330479667 There has been a recall of certain Infants and Childrens Tylenol. Avatar f tn t improved at all in the 6 months he has been seeing me, HOWEVER I am able to control my diplopia about 95% of the time. Currently I will be seen every 3 months to determine if muscle surgery will be performed. In the meantime, I will live with the double vision. My question for you Dr. Hagan, is that if in the future, you do more research on cataract surgery anesthesia and diplopia if I could be involved in your study.
527657 tn?1214051850 t recall having seen anything directly in the info about Paxil, but you should be able to lose on it, whether you take Paxil, or not. Good luck. Let us hear what works for you.

29837 tn?1414534648 Today I got not one but two calls from the FDA, so apparently my persistence is paying off. They are going to do whatever the pharmaceutical companies suggest, especially since there are no other alternative drugs except Interferon and Ribavirin. My contact at Vertex, who I just spoke to, is going to look once more into the IND application (Compassionate Use), and see if there's been any changes in their (Vertex) policy for allowing it.
