Avatar n tn By eating at night you may be able to help your morning blood sugar be a bit lower. When you have extended fasting your liver can put out glucose. By eating a small snack you may be able to prevent your liver doing this. hope this helps. Please come back and let us know how you're going. Often diabetes in preganncy will get worse as the pregnancy progresses (insulin resistance increases as the pregnancy progresses and the placenta grows).
231441 tn?1333892766 Regardless of the results of your glucose test, you should continue to keep an eye on your blood sugars during your pregnancy because you are at higher risk of developing gestational diabetes given your history. You will stil need to gain adequate weight to nourish your baby, but you should aim for about 25-30 pounds during the pregnancy and not too much over that, so that you can limit your chances of having abnormal glucoses during the pregnancy. Hope this helps. Good luck and take care!
Avatar n tn In the event that you had a fasting blood glucose test, a dimension somewhere in the range of 70 and 100 mg/dL (3.9 and 5.6 mmol/L) is viewed as ordinary. In the event that you had an arbitrary blood glucose test, an ordinary outcome relies upon when you last ate. More often than not, the blood glucose level will be underneath 125 mg/dL (6.
Avatar n tn I have recently stared fertility testing and my fasting glucose level was 96. My doctor said it needs to be below 90. All the information I have read said that anything below 110 is normal . I am now on a diabetic diet for gestational diabetes. Why is it important to be 90 or below before getting pregnant? Could this cause infertility? Since I've been on the diet my fasting glucose ranges from 91 to 97.
Avatar f tn Hi, Is this 140 a fasting level? If it is a fasting level it is not normal. Normal fasting should be lower than 95, and ideally even in the 80s. Are you overweight or any other health issues? Family history of diabetes? I would strongly recommend that you visit your doctor and tell him or her your results. They should do some further investigation. Hba1c and glucose testing. If you have a home glucose meter, please do some more testing.
Avatar f tn Nine years ago I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my second pregnancy. However, my 2-hour glucose testing numbers were borderline. I tested my blood 4 times per day and never once had an abnormal or even remotely high result the rest of my pregnancy. With my 3rd pregnancy I was not diagnosed with gestational diabetes. That was 4 years ago. Diabetes does not run in my family. No one in my family has it.
Avatar n tn I was on beta-blockers during my first pregnancy because of high blood pressure. During my second pregnancy I watched my sodium intake and it helped so much that I did not need to take the beta-blockers. Do you eat a lot of salt? Also, do you have a lot of stress in your life? My blood sugar is much harder to control and widely varies when I am under a lot of stress and pressure. I hope this helps and you figure this out.
Avatar f tn Here is a table that lists blood glucose ranges for adults with diabetes: Glycemic control A1C <7.0% Preprandial plasma glucose (before a meal) 70–130 mg/dl (5.0–7.2 mmol/l) Postprandial plasma glucose (after a meal) <180 mg/dl (<10.
Avatar n tn ve done finger/arm tests throughout the day and have not had anything remotely abnormal. I had a fasting blood sugar level of 93 first thing in the AM and all my levels after eating were 135 or below. Could the 191 have been error? Should I request to have the one hour test repeated first before I torture myself with the three hour test? Or should I just suck it up and do the test.
Avatar f tn I am sure the doctor will get back to you, but you really have to make sure and show this to your child's doctor. I have learned that the blood sugars he is having are not normal and he needs to be seen tomorrow. He needs the follow up testing asap and needs an A1C test. This shows the average blood sugar over the last few months. It showed my daughter to have a glucose intolerance. Good Luck. Becky This is on the american diabetes association website.
Avatar m tn I always take 2 or 3 pulkas or chapathis during night every day and i dont eat rice during night.. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?
Avatar m tn I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT FORUM FOR THIS BUT I AM PARANOID ABOUT HAVING DIABETES. I HAVE HAD 2 FASTING GLUCOSE TESTS DURING THE LAST 2 MONTHS. THE RESULTS WERE 92 ON THE FIRST AND 88 ON THE SECOND TEST. MY FAMILY DOCTOR SAYS NOT TO WORRY, THAT I AM NOT DIABETIC. BUT!!! I HAVE CONVINCED MYSELF THAT I HAVE ALL THESE SYMPTOMS; INTERMITTENT FREQUENT URINATION, DRY MOUTH AND THIRSTINESS, PAIN (PINS AND NEEDLES) IN MY LEGS AND FEET. ALL THESE COME AND GO.
490398 tn?1319940717 This is NOT a fasting glucose. My dad is diabetic and he has all of the tools to test blood. He has regular diabetes not Type 2 but it usually skips a generation. I had blood taken at the doctor last week, again, not fasting, for other health problems and it came back at 169. My doc obviously wants to retest me when I've been fasting and get an A1c.
Avatar n tn ve been told by my doctor that my glucose levels in urine have been rising. Also that blood glucose test you do at forgot how many weeks, she said I passed it,but very close to not passing. I do not think the way they measure it in the doc's office is very accurate, by using strips put into urine. I have done some checking myself at home,by pricking the finger before and after each meal. On empty stomach in the morning,my number was 4.0.
Avatar f tn Its when you have to fast (not eat) and then they give you a sugary drink and take your blood to see how your body processes the sugar. They do it to see if you have gestational diabetes which can be potentially dangerous if you don't get it under control.
Avatar n tn A fasting glucose test will give a fairly accurate reading of the amount of excess glucose floating around your blood streams. A measurement of 5.0 mmol/l is considered normal, not diabetic.
Avatar m tn Insulin is the traditional first-preference drug for blood glucose control during being pregnant, due to the fact it is the handiest for great-tuning blood glucose and it would not pass the placenta. consequently, it's far safe for the baby. insulin may be injected with a syringe..
Avatar f tn I took my 1 hour Blood Glucose test over a week ago and I got the results back and I failed. I believe average is 69-139 and my levels were a 159. What are the chances that I can pass my 3 hour fasting blood glucose test? Diabetes runs in the family and I'm kind of worried?
Avatar n tn About a year and a half a year ago, I was diagnosed with impaired glucose fasting, fasting glucose level was 119. At that time I was complaining of constant thirst, frequent urination, and sometimes night sweats, and slow healing. 6 month follow-up (one year ago) the fasting glucose level was 113. A1C was 6.0 I have been modifiying diet, exercising frequently and have lost approx 10-12 lbs.
Avatar m tn About a year ago during routine blood work, my fasting glucose result was found to be 102. My doctor (an endocrinologist I see for my thyroid disorder) was concerned and ordered A1C and C-Peptide tests along with another fasting glucose test. All came back normal a few weeks later (A1C 5.1, fasting glucose 92). An additional fasting glucose test a few months later was normal at 94. Just a few days ago, I got another blood test and my fasting glucose was back up to 101.
1538488 tn?1331483305 My fasting blood glucose is 110-125 mg/dl.hba1c is 7.96. My age is 57 years. After 2 hrs of b/f 165-190mg/dl. No medication.Glucose level slightly increase after exercise in the morning .What action is to be taken?
Avatar n tn I believe there's some confusion on glucose levels so I'll try to clear that up for you. A fasting glucose of 97 mg/dl is not high but is leaning towards the upper range of normal. Normal fasting is between 60/70 to 99 mg/dl Prediabetes is 100 to 125 mg/dl Diabetes is considered 126 mg/dl and above The 5.2% A1c does indicate a slightly elevated level of 103 mg/dl but I would rule that towards your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn It depends on when the blood sugar was taken. If you were fasting then it's extremely high I'd you had just eaten and depending on what you ate it could be okay.
