Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.
Avatar f tn Any balanced diet and exercise will help with weight loss. High protein and lower carbs are a decent idea. We do need some carbs, but a lot of people have lost a lot of weight by simply cutting anything white.... flour, bread, sugar, tortillas, rice, etc. Eat the healthiest food available. The short of it is, eating right, eating often but watching the caloric intake, drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of exercise.....

Avatar f tn I eat every 2 hours. I watch my carb intake though. With the bigger meals I stay at 30-45 grams of carbs and the snack at 15-20 grams of carbs. It may seen too little but it works and I stay full throughout the day. I'm 21wks 6days and only gained 10 pounds which is within the normal range. I was worried that I wasn't gaining enough but my OB said that my weight is normal. Not too much not too less. I suggest to try that.
Avatar f tn I am compliant with guidelines, medicine and protocols. My AIC is 8.9 and a 12hr fast gives me a 17.6 lab reading. If I fast longer my sugar goes higher. A 8 hr morning fast gives a 14 to 16 reading and goes up from there. My reading also goes up after exercising. This morning I was at 16.3 after a 8 hour fast so just to see what would happen I added a 5g teaspoon of sugar to my decaf with breakfast and then went to the Y to exercise for 1 hr. .

For example, on page 48, they list the breakfast of champions, 1 cup oatmeal topped with 1 Tbsp honey, 2 Tbsp dried cherries, 2 Tbsp walnut haves, 8 oz of plain kefir, and 1 medium banana. This supplies 600 calories and 90G of carbohydrate. No bad for breakfast. (But watch your calories if you aren't burning that many).

The only way to loose weight effectively is to do it slow, and to make changes to your diet for life. There are several approaches to do this, my favourite is: think of how much you are willing to change. Make your own short term goals, which are achievable, like 3 kgs lost by the first monday next month.

Avatar f tn e from protein and carbs equally as ur body needs carbs as a fuel. if you cut down on the fat whilst still eating a balanced diet you should notice a marked improvement in ur weightloss. if ur fond of biscuits for e.g. then make it a plain tea or digestive and no more than 2 at a time. use lean meat and trim off excess if there is any. dry fry stuff or grill/oven bake more and always drink loads of water, if u dnt like plain water add a little sugar free diluting juice to it.
Avatar m tn Months later cycled back up to a higher carb diet of 50-70g of carbs and immediately flared back up with itching, irritation, burning on urination and ulcerations of the vulva. Cut out the carbs, it resolves. Very strange indeed.

After the dizzy episode, I immediately had an exacerbation of the burning symptoms in the lower right quadrant that persisted all night. THis am I am still somewhat lightheaded but the pain has calmed to some degree. Anyone else have this?
