famvir cream

My phys assistant says herpes over the phone, told me to increase famvir and use an acyclovir cream. I am still waiting to see if there is a result.

Also my doctor prescribed famvir but I don't have genital herpes. Can Famvir help with penis pain?

I just wanted to know what are the symptoms of herpes if it occurs inside urethra of men or does it occur inside urethra, as i have been through chamdlya test which came out negative a urine culture which also came normal and a urethra swab for culture test which also came negative then the urologist treated me with rociphin 2g iv for 7 days but then after 7 months suddenly on my penis herpes simplex has occured which is now been treated with zovirax 10g ointment and famvir 250mg oral tablets.

I've never had a rash nor an allergic reaction in my life but about 4 days ago I started noticing my right armpit was becoming irritated. About 3 days ago I noticed it getting red and rashy looking. The rash is near where the pectorial and arm meet and it's got small red bumps inside the rash area. I've uploaded 2 pictures to show what they look like.

If it was a canker sore, why did it react to the Famvir? Does Famvir still have an effect on canker sores then, as well as cold sores? Am I contagious? Was I ever contagious? And can I actually kiss my husband again? Thanks for any advice! Much appreciated.

Did you tested for HHV 6 ?? It is know to cause neuropathic symtoms. Hope you feel better soon.

Injections are not given usually.

well actually both of the things you listed aren't all that helpful for hsv1. keeping healthy in general is always a good idea but stress and low b vitamins aren't triggers for herpes in general. you can take acyclovir, ,valtrex or famvir daily suppressively for hsv1. we don't have info on using topical zinc ( it's not the same preparation as zinc oxide if you are thinking of the white stuff ) daily to reduce hsv1 ob's or shedding either.

After 10 days on valtrex I switched to suppressive dose of famvir. While on famvir I had some occasional pain and redness. I told my GCP and urologist about my response to valtrex and each said that was unusual. I took another blood test at 9 and 11 weeks and still negative. So my GCP and urologist convinced med to stop taking famvir.

Hi there, I apoligise for the long post but it's been a tough year. 12 months ago I foolishly had unprotected sex twice in the same day with an old female friend. The first time was vigorous but well lubricated and the second time was rough as well but didn't have enough lubricant and at the end was quite painful for me but I didn't ask her to stop because she was reaching climax.

Hi, I was just wondering if i'm still supposed to be having a genital itch when taking the 500mg daily dose famvir for genital herpes? also I'm wondering If I actually do have genital herpes?

I was also given zovirax 5% a cream..now im wondering if thats to apply to my cold sore...or do genital herpes..because im guessing its just for the cold sore right?

The swab test of my lip came back negative and no lesions occured. (I belive this was coincidence and merely a reaction to my anti acne cream that may have been accidently applied to my lip area.) Type specific serology at 12 days also came back negative (i realise this was far too early to test but it put my mind to rest for a few days - im writing university exams and any reduction in stress is welcomed).

In the following years (2007-2009) i have only had 3-4 outbreaks. when i get an outbreak i use famvir, 2 tablets at first then 1 every 12 hours for 3 doses. these always worked quickly and the outbreaks were never severe and didn't last longer than a week or so start to finish. In the last 2 weeks (jan 2010) i had a small outbreak that i immediately took my usual dose of famvir for and it cleared up, almost totally within 5-7 days.

I hope someone can help. I've had horrible recurring pain in my right eye for over a year. Went to Optho. multiple times and was told it was an infected oil gland. I was put on low dose antibiotics for over 6 months and told to apply warm compresses and scrub eye with a baby shampoo/water solution. have been now 5 months outbreak free (leading a really healthy lifestyle). My doctor prescribed me for my outbreaks famvir, 125 mg twice a day during 5 days. I have a girlfriend and we have talked about this and both of us would like to make sex without condoms. We have sex each 2/3 weeks. I wouldnt like to take suppresive therapy daily, if we are having sex each 2 / 3 weeks (wich is very little). Taking this in mind what would be considered an effective suppresive therapy?

It should've been 2 500mg famvir tablets to take 2x/day for 1 day. Is that what you were given or just 1 500mg pill?
