I'm finishing week 42 of a 48 week tx. Do sx get worse the longer you are on tx. In the last few weeks, I've forgotten more,ate less,and am tired all of the time. The fatigue is the worst thing. I sleep all of the time. It's hard for the husband because he is alone all the time. Heck even my cats wait outside my door. I don't let them in often because I want to sleep and they want love. I give them a lot when I'm up.

I started suppression famciclovir over the weekend and had diahhrria 5 times the next day. Has this happend to anyoone else? Please share your side effects of any other meds or meds that gave no side effects. I have to call the doc and get something else.

Given Doxycycline for 1week, Cefixime for 3 days, Azithromycin 1g for 3days, Metronizadole for a day.. All heavy, I had numerous side effects like side effects, headache, etc. So I stopped seeing doctor. b) The same doctor gave me Benzathime pencilin after 3 days of last sex exposure on each buttocks. Got very bad muscle pain. c) I had HSV-1(cold sores) outbreak in lips, so took FAMCICLOVIR 250mg for 5days. This is 1 week before last exposure.

And I can no longer pet my cats which feels like my hands have been in fiberglass. My bones are so sensitive that it hurts to even sit on a soft chair. It has been a terrible experience which I regret.

I have read so many posts where people have significant (severe) side effects years after completing treatment. Are there any studies or evaluations on post-treatment side effects? Any comments?

Famvir and famciclovir are the same thing, as are Valtrex and Valacyclovir. One is the brand name, one is the generic. I'd stay on the valacyclovir. Triamcinolone is a steroid which does have side effects, vomiting being a very common one. San Ren Tang is an herb with only anecdotal info on it's effectiveness. It is generally used for digestive issues (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, etc. Have you gotten back to your vet to tell him about the vomiting? He may be able to prescribe a different steroid or change the dosage to alleviate the vomiting or prescribe an additional medication/diet to alleviate the vomiting.
