Avatar n tn I'm taking Zoladex for treating endometriosis. what is the safe time gap between my last Zoladex injection and when I start trying to conceive?
Avatar f tn I've heard that taking Zoladex can be used to induce menopause; and treating the symptoms can be done w/the use of HRT and Premarin. If this is so, does anyone know how long it will take for the medicine to induce menopause, and how long will the medicine be needed to treat the symptoms? Since i'm uninsured and my period is making me very sick, especially those debilitating migraines, (probably, because i'm too old now) I'm trying to find a way to help myself. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I was 38 and premenstrual. Following surgery, chemo and radiotherapy had 5 years of zoladex and arimidex which finished in Aug 2013. My periods returned 10 months later but have been very irregular, cycles from 5 weeks to a 2 month and a 3 month cycle. I have had enormous problems with intermittent fatigue, muscle aches, painful breasts, mood wings (PMDD), hypertension. I was fatigued during the hormonal tx but the present fatigue does not improve with rest.
Avatar n tn My father has Prostate Cancer with gleason 9. PSA test show no sign of cancer, but after a biopsy, revealed gleason 9. Cancer spread to lymph nodes but not yet to bones. Traveled to Dr. Tewari but said it was beyond surgery. Did Radiation Theraphy two years ago and has been on Zoladex since. Follow up PSA test comes up no cancer. Father is feeling healthy.
Avatar f tn The 1st laproscopy operation was unsuccesful as the endo was too severe for the doctor (he is a fertility specialist) to operate. I am currently on Zoladex to put me through early menopause to try reduce the endo. The Zoladex is terrible I have hardly slept at all for the last 2 months as I was awake up every hour or so dripping in sweat. The doctor is operating again at the end of next month, but is flying another doctor in to help with the operation due to how severe it is.
Avatar f tn I was later disgnosed with poly cyctic ovary disease ( which told that it could be the side effect of zoladex). My treatment ends 31 July 2008. Please tell me does this mean? Does is mean I can start the process to fall pregnant. Do I have to wait few months until the zoladex wears off? Can I start fertility tabs the next month - august 2008. What is the process?
Avatar n tn Has anyone suggested hormone treatment for you?
Avatar f tn i have severe endo an have had since i was 11. im now 26. ive been on zoladex and implanon. the pill and operations galore. i havent had any treatment for over 2 years anda few weeks ago i started bleeding after bowel movements. its a bright red colour and not much blood but because my endo is so severe i also have it in my bum. can anyone tell me if this is to do with endo and share some stories?
Avatar f tn To further prove this diagnosis, he put me on zoladex injections every 4 weeks. I had 3 injections in total and was due for another today. He told me today that zoladex is not a long term solution for adenomyosis and he doesn't want me to be in the menopause any longer than necessary ( i'm not taking hrt and i'm 35 yrs old). He has advised me to have a hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn Since than I am on Yasmin birth control pills, I had one punctuation and been on Zoladex shots for six months (that makes you go into an early menopause) because my left ovary is also problematic. Unless you have serious problems and risks, I wouldn't recomend removing both ovaries. It will change your hormones and that's not so pleasent. With one ovary I don't feel so good, there are side-effects, it's not natural.
Avatar m tn During the inpatient stay my blood pressure stayed low (93/62 was one of them taken). My GYN recommend that I have a Zoladex shot to shut off my ovaries. So on July 6th I was given the shot. I have a follow up appointment with my GP doctor on July 16th and a US scheduled for July 29th and pelvic exam. I guess what I am asking is what do I need to know, and what questions should I be asking these doctors when I go to my appointments.
Avatar m tn I had sucessful EBRT and one zoladex injection 3 months ago. I am 81. The side effects were so bad from the injection that I am not having any more.I am starting casodex 50g daily. The worst was my memory loss. How long can I expect the side effects to wear off.
Avatar f tn I had 2 laparoscopies to remove cysts in the first 10 months of diagnosis and then started zoladex (goserelin) which I took for a 12 months. I was then put on the pill to take without a break which I did for 6 months. I saw my gynae last week because I was starting to have a lot of pain again, I had an ultrasound but no cysts were present. Now I have started zoladex again (injection last week) but I am having severe pain :((( Sorry if this is tmi, but I am having stabbing pain in my vagina.
Avatar m tn Terrible side effects with Zoladex so switching to 150 casodex daily.
548037 tn?1214781516 i have had chronic abdominal pain since the beginning of april and i have been diagnosed with endometrosis endo f last year and the gynae have changed my treatment from provera to zoladex to see if that would help but hasnt yet and should have worked by now, not sure if it is caused by endometrosis casue had a CT and showed that i have a number of lymph nodes in my bowel and one that is very prominent in my RIF measuring 16mm x 8mm, i think that it is the lymph nodes causing the pain but GP thin
Avatar f tn I was offered two options. Both difficult and iffy. Surgery or zoladex. This would be my third surgery causing lots of buildup of scar tissue and could have serious complications. Then there is zoladex, a medication that is similar to lupron and may have the same effect on my antidepressants which i just recently sorted out again. It could also take more time for the pain to go away than a surgery. Im at a loss and would love to hear reccomendations to base my decision off of.
430820 tn?1218247866 But, cystis grow rapidly in my case, so Yasmin was not able to stop them and I had a punction done several months ago and now I am on ZOLADEX treatment (injections, wich cause me to go into signs of early minopause). And, after i finish the 6-th (the last injection) i must conceive, if I want to have my own children and if I want to keep my left ovary, because it is the only one I have.
Avatar f tn t had any bigger problems, but after six years one of the cysts became bigger and there were some problems with the endo condition as well, so I had a punctuation done and after that my doctor said that I should take ZOLADEX shots/injections for six months. So I took them and I was in the condition of an early menopause for six months, no periods (and awful side-effects!!!).
698575 tn?1229608278 Hi. I was on Yasmin three years, after that I was on Zoladex and now I am on Yasmin again. I don't know for sure, but I think that Yasmin prevents ovulation and it makes harder for sperm to reach uterus (it is harder for the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus). I have read this: The primary mechanism of Yasmin is inhibition of ovulation.
Avatar f tn I would also have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial with Bevacizumab. I might be able to receive injections of Zoladex. Probably no tamoxifen. Has anyone out there been in this predicament? I am very confused and overwhelmed by all of this information. I feel that due to my age, I am in a gray area regarding my chances of remaining in menopause after treatments. Does anyone have any advice?
Avatar f tn I have been under my local hospital for a while and after my last visit it was suggested to try a course of Zoladex. I have had four injections but this is not working. I am still getting the pain and also there are other issues which cannot get resolved, my blood pressure is all over the place. My GP thinks this may be hormonal aswell. However I think I am now going ot have to have my ovaries removed.
Avatar f tn Since then I was on Yasmin birth control pills, had a punctuation and was on Zoladex shots for sih months in order to save my left ovary, because I have cysts and endometriosis on it too. I stopped taking Yasmin pills year and a half ago in order to TTC, but nothing happened, so I wanted to try insemination, but my gyno said that I had one formal cyst and one endometric cyst and they are big, so the next step he sais is laparotomy and than In Vitro procedure.
Avatar f tn I have been offered Ibrance, in conjunction with Tamoxifen and Zoladex. Ibrance is currently unfunded in New Zealand. Each cycle, consisting of 3 weeks of tablets and 1 week off, costs approximately $6000. Pfizer have adopted a patient Ibrance Assistance Programme meaning that after we pay for 11 cycles the rest are then free ( providing it's of clinical benefit and we have no further progression). I need to fund $66,000 worth of treatment. My friend has set up a givealitte page for me.
Avatar f tn My second gynecologist was more helpful and had no doubt in his mind that I was suffering from endometriosis. When Zoladex failed to induce menopause and I continued to bleed despite continued use of the pill, I went back on Primolut until the gynecologist decided it was time for a laparoscopy. While I was under he did a tubal patency test and inserted a mirena.
682098 tn?1236908245 t want to, so I went to a puncture (they sucked the cysts and the blood). After that I took Zoladex shots for 6 months (they make you go into the condition of an early menopause). I was 22 while I was taking Zoladex shots and I felt horrible! Hormonal disbalance, mood changes, irittabillity, depression, decreased sex drive, weight changes, sweating a lot... It was like in hell! After that I continued with Yasmin again, because my body needed to come back to normal.
Avatar f tn DL responded just now with: We successfully conceived our first go on assisted natural but lost it early on. Then after that my endo was just too rampant for anything to work. I spent so long in and out of hospital. I ended up with a temporary ileostomy from the bowel resection. Once it's been reversed we will go into ivf. I'm on zoladex to slow the growth of the endo while we wait for the reversal. Hopefully by going straight from zoladex to ivf will help keep the endo at bay!!
Avatar f tn I'm 31 and suffer extremely severe endometriosis on my diaphragm, liver, pelvis and we think my right lung now. I've had surgeries but my diaphragm perforated and lung collapsed on the table last year so I've become inoperable and it spreads very rapidly. I was on Zoladex for 6 months to put me in menopause between surgeries but it grew immediately after coming off it. Getting pregnant is my only hope.
