Avatar f tn I have had 3 syncope episodes while flying on a commerical airline this past year. My PCP and cardiologist feel there is no correlation to NCS and being in a pressurized cabin. Is there anyone here on the board who has had a similar experience as a passenger?
Avatar f tn OK this is quite long winded but bear with me. I should say that I am seeing my GP for this and am waiting for a appointment to see an ENT Consultant but wanted some opinions. I'm 22 years old, female. No health problems or allergies but obese. Approximately 6 weeks ago I had the usual Winter sinus congestion that everyone gets, my ears were blocked and so was my nose.
Avatar f tn I dont know why but for the last 3 years i have been fainting or blacking out for no reason. When it first started, i just thought that it was just because i was getting out of bed way too fast ( i used to fall in my room a lot! and in the hall way. one time i fell into my closet and couldn't get up for some reason.) But then it got all weird because it would happen out of the blue. i would be feeling fine and walking and then i would just pass out right there.
1100598 tn?1413127426 The cough brings up a foaming white phlegm, and sometimes causes heart palpitations. Ever since then, I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting spells, weakness, back pain, a worseneing cough, low grade fever, chills, rash on my belly or chest, and nausea. The swollen lymph nodes have also returned. My doctor says I have bronchitis/walking pneumonia and put me on doxycycline on tuesday, but I am not feeling any better. I only have one day of antibiotics left.
Avatar f tn It happened while I was laying down, sitting, while driving, and just walking. I sometimes at night get woken up quickly, and my husband took my heart rate while I was asleep it dropped to 22 bpm. I dont have high cholesterol. This all started after I had an eating disorder and reicieved the Gardasil shots. What should I do?? Who should I see? My cardiologist says he cant find anything wrong.
Avatar f tn I was walking home and I ran across the street causing me to become short of breath. While walking behind a car I chose not to inhale but further exhale my breath, to the point where I felt I had completely discharged my oxygen. Now I am having a headache and obsessive thought that exhaling so deeply could've caused brain damage, even in the slightest bit, by depriving my brain of oxygen. Is this even possible? Or does breathing have to completely fail for this to happen?
341190 tn?1295467125 I am on bp Meds for high bp but my bp drops and bottoms out especially when standing or walking. I had tachycardia and was told that was also a factor in the fainting. I had panic disorder for many yrs but had learned to deal with it by ignoring it and pushing thru. Well imagine my surprise when one day at my grandsons field day at school I thought I was having panic and woke up on ground. Of course I had been told u don't pass out with panic so freaked me out.
492869 tn?1285018933 At the store though, I often resolve to sitting on the floor while waiting in a line. Like you I have less of a problem walking, but standing still is just about impossible. When I stand up again though, I'm usually lightheaded and disoriented. (Supplemental oxygen is something I'd recommend by the way.) Thank you for adding to the list!
Avatar m tn Yes, my mom has been vomiting everyday for about a month and a half and has fainted during the middle of the day, in the shower, while walking, and in the middle of the night. She just did it again a few minutes ago, so I gave her some ginger ale a water and aspirin and she is now resting (under my close watch). Please anyone out there if you can help please respond. I can't only have one parent.

After it happens I also have ringing in my ears and sort of the feeling in my head that I was hit with a bat. I have noticed it comes when I have high anxiety or stress.

Avatar n tn Hello everyone, I had my first fainting episode at 11 when I was in a crowded area, I felt my body go cold, and I started sweating. Slowly my vision started going out, until I could see anymore. I walked out of the room I was in, to ask where the nearest bathroom was while sounding like was going to vomit, I found it without seeing where I was going and I sat down and then it wen away. I didn't have another episode until I was 15. I had the same symptoms except I actually vomited.
Avatar f tn Shortly after I stopped taking the Sertraline (in the middle of September 2019), I experienced fainting (while I was also on my period), but I experienced almost fainting the week after my period was gone, as well as the week after that. Those two occasions where I almost fainted were the only times I left the house and I felt faint only after ~30 mins of light walking. I stopped fainting/feeling faint after that.

Avatar n tn This is my third pregnancy and I've had fainting spells with my previous two nor while not pregnant. However, recently, I started to blacked out and sat myself quickly to the floor so i wouldn't hit hard and slowly began to recover. I didn't completely faint but did lose control and was sweaty on my neck even in air conditioning during the episode. It was a different feeling from being light headed or dizzy(i have experienced those but not this pregnancy) and scared me to death.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar f tn I do that often while walking around and have to sit down for a few minutes. I also had this happen while I was driving! Called ob immediately that time as I had just left the office. Was told completely normal.
Avatar f tn So last night my husband was talking to his mom on the phone and I told him to tell her about me constantly being out of breathe. Whether I'm doing things, or just sitting down. She told him to tell me to walk every day for about 15 minutes. I don't see how that would help me out though. What do you girls think about it? I just know I'm gonna be out of breath while walking for no reason.
1298247 tn?1288290953 Its main function is to direct blood towards the digestive system when food is eaten, but if it is overactive then the vagus nerve can take too much blood away from the brain, causing a loss of consciousness (vagal nerve fainting). This type of fainting is not generally limited to people with 'defective' vagal nerves, but it is a reaction that can happen to any human.
